In my honest opinion, overlap is going to happen now that there are so many Raevans. It happens even now, just look at all our fire based Raevans and then all the bird souls we've had. Obviously those are much more abundant than the sleeping/dream essences, which none ever got off the ground to begin with really, so it makes more sense to avoid those a bit more than the latter.

I believe the key here is finding something that you really like, that fits the requirements of being a fel essence and then seeing what Kyou might say. You just never know, you might come up with something that may not be completely new, but because of the way you approached it, Kyou might find it interesting enough.

The best approach, I think, is not to limit yourself. Think up of as many interesting essences that you can because one of them is sure to be the one that will make it. I'd tell you the same thing with souls, but I believe you've had your heart settled on the peacock and it is a rather interesting soul choice lol.

And just one last thing about powers. Depending on the Raevan, powers can be similar to others, yet again it's about making it work differently than the others so it's more unique. Let's look at our fire based Raevans as an example. Lazarus can summon flames because his essence was the Eternal Flames. Zul's summoning is more like lava because his essence was the Lava Ice Rock. And then Prajna's essence is the Inverted Flame and thus it's ability is more about draining heat than giving it off. So you see, all though all three can be considered fire based Raevans, due to the uniqueness of their essences their powers are all different. There is also their souls to consider because powers can be derived from that as well. Or in some cases, they can cross over and create a completely unique ability that can only exist because of the merging of that Raevan's particular essence and soul.

I really hope this helps and that I'm not just rambling on for nothing, lol.

Now, I also have Cleansing Fire added to the list. ^-^

Rather it's too close to Prajna and Laz's fire essences, thus Kyou is more than likely not to accept it. I was just using those as examples earlier anyway. You can still try for a fire essence, but you have to make it really really REALLY different from all the others to have it even be considered. And even then I can't say whether Kyou will accept it or not. So please keep trying to come up with other essences. ^_^

And since you can tell I suck so much at creating essences, I'm using some of the available ones in the Fel Essence thread this time around.

I'm liking it so far! I can only begin to imagine the numerous ways Kyou could approach drawing this Raevan lol.

Though I am curious, with Mind's Eye, does it have to be limited to projecting onto other objects? Can't it be some sort of telepathic thing? Like maybe it's a mind wave he transmits unknowingly within a specified radius and as the Raevan grows so does the radius? Also, the spore power, it can be tied in better with the essence by perhaps making is more like a spore cloud instead of actual toadstools? Though you could probably still use toadstools for something, I'm just trying to give you some more ideas on power refinement. Still, looking like a solid concept. Keep up the good work!

sweatdrop I was around a lot more when Kyou was the only artist, so I forgot about Roo. Bad Ebs, bad. But I'm sure Roo would have lots of fun trying to concept this Raevan.

And yes, I was thinking of it being more projected within the mind, but thinking more on it, you are probably right that making it more of a physical manifestation would play more into the hands of the essence's well essence, lol. Honestly this concept has a lot of potential for fairy tale type escapades! You could even play around with the idea of toadstools or mushrooms that the Raevan makes or can make "special." Like once eaten it could make almost anything happen! Oh my gosh, I'm getting Wonderland stuff popping into my head with this lol. I'll stop for now, but I hope I'm helping you think deeper into your chars possible powers.
