Meeting Yume

Anisia walked into the costume shop and looked around. Many other various Gaians were there, along with their kids, trying on masks and crazy outfits. She smiled, glancing about the colorful and highly-decorated shop. Kiita had given her a good amount of gold, just in case she found something interesting. And a disposable camera, just so she could have fun and take pictures with the person she was supposed to be meeting. Ani thought the camera was a good idea. So many different things to try on! The pictures were bound to be great.

And speaking of the person she was supposed to be meeting, where was she? Anisia peeked around a few of the racks with costumes on them. What did she look like? Kiita told her she wasn't meeting another Sin this time...so how would she be able to pick her out from the rest?
-------------------------------------
Yume walked into the shop and looked around. She was suppose to be looking for a cute little girl, wasn't she? That wasn't much of a description, but she could work with that. Even though she had already gotten a costume, she hadn't been outside in forever. She had a feeling she needed to get out...

CRASH! Yume's train of thought crumpled when she bumped into a large rack of costumes. The costumes fell on her with a loud thud. She tried to push her way out of the pile of clothes, but the costumes were heavier than they looked. "Um, a little help here? Somebody?" She called out, hoping someone would come to her rescue.
-------------------------------------
Ani jumped with a start at the loud sound of the crash. It certainly caught others' attention...most just looked away shaking their heads and going about their business. She wrinkled her nose a little at the others' rudeness, then walked over to where the lady had fallen. "I'll help you!" The little girl's voice rang as she picked up some costumes (most being longer and taller than her) and hanging them back up on random hooks. "Are you okay?" She asked as she dug through the pile.
-------------------------------------
Yume emerged from the piles, pulling an extra large chemise off her head. "No broken bones, so yup, I'm okay. Thanks!" She smiled. She then took a thorough look at the girl. She did remember that the girl was suppose to have a third eye...maybe this was her!

"Hmm, are you Anisia, by any chance?" Yume questioned.
-------------------------------------
The cinnamon bun girl gave her a grin, "Thats good! And no problem." She said as she looked at the mess on the floor. Oh well. One of the workers would have to pick it up.

"Yeah! Thats me. My friends call me Ani. You can too if you want." She replied, pulling a stray lock of hair behind her ear, "So are you Yume, then?" She asked.
-------------------------------------
"Yup, I'm Yume! Nice to meet you Ani!" She picked up her purse and shook it a little Good. Nothing fell out, what a relief.
-------------------------------------
"Nice to meet you too!" Anisia replied with a friendly smile. "Kiita was telling me that you were a nice person and how she wanted me to meet you. Are you a protector of a Sin too?" She asked curiously, beginning to look at a few masks on the wall beside them.
-------------------------------------
"Yeah. Its not often I meet her friends, unless they bring one of their kids, Sin or not, over. And sometimes they're the same people. But they never really say much to me anyway." She replied with a small smile.

Anisia then looked to Yume and watched her for a bit, "You probably will be. If your number is in the phone book, anyway." She said with a laugh. Chaco's ways of picking protectors was strange...not very responsible either, for that matter.

"So. Have you decided what you wanted to be for Halloween?" She asked.
-------------------------------------
"Oh, I see. I don't see why they wouldn't want to speak with you, you look like a very nice girl to me." Yume said as she tried on a large witch's hat.

Yume giggled at this. "Yeah, maybe someday I'll get a Sin." She set the hat downand tried on a green wig.

Yume smiled. "Yup! I'm going to be a ghost for Halloween. The last few years, I've either been a princess or a witch."
-------------------------------------
"They just don't seem too interested." Ani replied with a small shrug, "I don't mind too much. Some adults can be boring." She said with a laugh, "Some. Not all of them though!"

"I claim the first play date when you do!" She called with a grin. "It'd be fun!"

Anisia took a look at her green wig and laughed. She grabbed a pink afro wig and placed it on her head. "How do I look?" She said, posing with one hand behind her head and the other on her hip.

"That'll be fun! I'm going as a genie. Kiita says the outfit shows too much skin and I'd freeze when trick-or-treating. But I'm going to put something beneath it to make her happy." She said with a laugh.
-------------------------------------
"Yes, some adults are so boring, they make you fall asleep. Like teachers." Yume said, laughing. Her teachers always made her want to go to sleep.

"Alrighty then! I have your word on that!" Yume grinned. The started to laugh all over again when she saw Ani put on the wig. "That color is so not you." She giggled.

She grabbed a large purple wig with rabbit ears sticking out of it. "Do you like my ears up or down?" She said, posing like a model in a magizine.
-------------------------------------
"I've never gone to school before. But Kiita complains an aweful lot about them." Anisia said with an amused smile.

"Sure it is! I look great." She said, pretending to fluff up her afro a little more. She began to laugh as she picked out the rabbit eared wig. "I say one up, and one down!" She said. "Fix the ears then lets take a picture!" Ani added with a grin, taking out her camera from her small, small purse.
-------------------------------------
"School is boring. Even if we do get to make friends and learn some new stuff, it's still very boring. And homework is horrible, especially if you don't know what you're doing." Yume said with an annoyed frown. "School is and will always be boring to me."

She fixed the ears. "One up and one down it is then! Ooo! Pictures, how fantastic!" Yume siad with a grin.
-------------------------------------
"The way Kiita described it, it certainly does sound boring. Sitting in a seat basically for the whole day listening to someone lecture and doing work you don't even care about doing." Anisia shook her head, "I'm just glad I don't have to go to school!" She said with a bright smile.

Anisia moved so she was beside Yume and tried to hold the camera out hands length to snap a picture of them in their crazy colored wigs.
-------------------------------------
"You are very, very lucky you don't have to go to school." Yume gave her a lopsided smile.

She laughed as the picture was taken. If Menou had been here, she would have laughed her head off and more.
-------------------------------------
"Lets go look at the hats!" Anisia exclaimed, already setting the afro back onto its display head and wandering off deeper into the store to its section of hats. There were so many there! Cowboy hats, sombreros, beanies with locks of hair coming out from the bottom of them, caps, and so much more!

The girl picked a brown cowboy hat that had a tiara glued to the front of it and put it on her head. Then she grabbed some pink, feathery boa and put it around her neck. Ani then began posing again. "Dressing up is so much fun."
-------------------------------------
Yume followed her, grabbing pieces of costumes as she moved. She put on a large headwrap and a vampire dress, found some star-shaped shades and put them on Ani. "Dressing up is always fun when you're in a costume store!"
-------------------------------------
Anisia laughed, "Halloween is the best time of the year to do it too!" She took a quick snapshot of herself with the star-shaped shades. "Whats your favorite holiday?" She asked, placing an extremely large gold medallion around her neck.
-------------------------------------
Yume gave her a grin. "Halloween, of course. My family is really...bound to that holiday." She said as she put a large sunhat on, a tutu and spun around. Getting dizy, she fell on her bottom and laughed. "My sister really likes Halloween. Okay, more like obsessed." She said, laughing again.
-------------------------------------
Before she could rise again, Anisia quickly took a picture of her on the floor. "Haha!" She said jokingly. She then stowed her camera back in her purse and took all the items off. Then she put a bird beak over her nose and mouth and placed a headband with red horns on her head. Seeing the matching pitchfork, she grabbed that too.

"Look! I'm a...devilbird thing!" She said with a grin, tapping the staff on the floor a few times.

"I haven't celebrated many holidays, but Kiita tells me Christmas is a fun time. She told me about the carols, the snow, and of course the presents! I got to say, that holiday sounds really fun."
-------------------------------------
Yume just laughed at this. She grabbed a tiara, a pirate eyepatch, and a princess dress. She put the tiara on Ani and the eyepatch and dress on herself. "Yes, Christmas is a great holiday. I've never seen snow before, though. I hear it's pretty." She said with a dazed look.
-------------------------------------
"The pirate princess and the devil-bird princess! We're soo cool." The cinnamon bun girl said, straightening her posture and beginning to walk around in circles, giving off the impression she was of royalty. A strange royalty, but one nonetheless. "Everyone must listen to ME and YUME!" She said, grinning.

"Kiita grew up with snow. She tells me its really fun to play in. Kind of like playing in the leaves when you pile them all up on the ground!" Ani said, then finding herself curiously gazing at some of the not-so-nice masks...like the ones with skeleton faces and horns or some with abnormally large pimples and warts.
-------------------------------------
"Yes! We are the coolest! WE OWN YOU ALL!" She shouted into the air. Some of the customers looked at her weird and shook their heads. She strutted around like a queen.

"I grew up where it was really hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. It never snowed where I use to live." She said as she tried on a witch mask with warts all over it.
-------------------------------------
"Some people don't know how to have fun!" Anisia said ratherly loudly, giving an annoyed look to the customers. After scanning over the masks on the wall, she chose a masquerade-style black cat mask. Then she got some flashy beads and put them around her neck.

"If it was really cold, wouldn't it snow?" she asked curiously, tilting her head.
-------------------------------------
"Yeah! Some people need to get out more!" Yume copyed Ani, then took a flower shaped hat and plopped it on her own head.

"Closest thing we've gotten to snow is frost. On the houses, cars, everything!" She said with a smile.
-------------------------------------
Anisia laughed and began to put the items back on their racks. "Those were the boring adults. I bet they were teachers." She said with a grin.

Kiita came around the corner on the sidewalk and entered the costume shop, "Ani? Yume?" She called, looking for the two of them.

"Over here!" Anisia called.

Kiita smiled, "Oh, hi guys. Unforunately, I'm going to have to bring Ani home now." She said.

"Aww...well, I guess I'll see you later, Yume! Come over to our house sometime!" Ani said, putting the rest of the item away.

"We'd be glad to have you over for dinner sometime!" Kiita added.

The two of them said their goodbyes and made their way home.
-------------------------------------
Yume smiled. "Yeah, they musta been." She took off the flower hat and put it back on the rack.

"Seeya Kiita and Ani!" Yume said as she waved goodbye and headed home herself. Something told her that something important had happened without her knowledge....

Meeting Cameo

"Wow!" Anisia's three eyes began to brighten. The park was really big! And there were other kids there too! That made it even better. Too bad they hadn't found this place in the summer though, she thought as she fixed her white beanie on her head and straightened out her jean jacket. "I'll be over there by the castle!" Ani called to Kiita.

"Be careful! Don't go anywhere else without telling me first!" Kiita called back as she watched the Sin girl run off to play. She smiled. It was good Ani was getting out of the house a lot more. Pocketing her hands, she began to look for a bench to sit on and watch.
-------------------------------------
Cameo really didn't know what to look at first. There were so many things, and now that she could walk on her own, without the aid of her family members, there were so much more possibilities! And there were other kids there too! Hardly able to contain herself, she shrugged off her backpack and handed it to her 'uncle' behind her. "I'm gonna go play, HiHi." She told him quickly, before rushing off, pulling her jacket around her and her thick skirt wipping around her ankles.

Hilian blinked and sighed, slipping Cameo's backpack over one shoulder. 'Take her to the park or something,' Phantom had said, 'please? I need to finish up some things before our new housemates arrive, and she wants to go out. Just make sure she doesn't hurt herself.' Brushing a hand through his hair, he rolled his eyes. 'Just make sure she doesn't hurt herself.' Shouldn't be too hard, should it?
-------------------------------------
Anisia had climbed a little ways above on top of the playground's castle, beaming happily. This place was great. And how high she was, she could see almost everything and everyone! "Hiii!" She called aloud to everyone. She waved her hands in the air to get someone's attention.
-------------------------------------
Half way to, whereever she was headed, Cameo halted, nearly tripping over herself. Looking around quickly, she realized, there was someone on the castle! "Hello person!" She waved a hand at the girl on the castle, rocking back on her hooves happily. "You're up really high!"
-------------------------------------
"Hiya!" Anisia replied with a grin, looking down at Cameo. Someone noticed her! "Want to come up here with me?" She asked her, her hands on the 'wall' as she leaned down a little to look at her.
-------------------------------------
Cameo tilted her head up to look at the elder girl. "Uh-huh!" Looking around quickly for a way, her hair whipping against her face, she broke into a smile. "I'll be up real quick!" She hurried foreward, careful not to trip over her skirt, and started up the play castle. Sure enough, she made it up fairly quickly, although slightly stunted by a few stumbles. "Here!" Cameo proclaimed with a wide smile, holding onto the side for a little balance.
-------------------------------------
"Hi! I'm Anisia." She said with a friendly smile, "My friends call me Ani though. You can too if you want. Whats your name?" Anisia asked as she pocketed her hands into her jacket to warm for a little bit.
-------------------------------------
Cameo let go of the side and curtsied clumsily, wobbling a bit on her hooves. "'M Cameo." Pulling her coat around her instinctively, she smiled. "I jus' got biggah so I c'n walk all by myself now." She said proudly, nodding her head.

-------------------------------------
"Thats a cute name!" Anisia said. "Nice to meet you, Cameo." She smiled, "Thats cool! I just grew yesterday." Something below them caught her eye, "Whooa! Your hooves are neat!" She added with a laugh. "So Cameo, what do you want to do?"
-------------------------------------
Nice to meet you too, Ani." At the mention of her hooves she looked down and quirked a smile. "Yeah, but they're harderer to walk on, I think." Of course, never having had anything except hooves to walk on, and not having walked on her own for very long, she really couldn't say too much on the subject. However... "Yous got a third eye!" She exclaimed, as if she had just realized. In fact, she probably just had, although she's long since gotten more or less used to the oddities that seemed to be the trademark of the Sin. Nonetheless, she found this fasinating!

...And as for what she wanted to do? "Umm... Maybe we play... castle?"
-------------------------------------
A grin crossed Ani's lips at the mention of her third eye, "Yeah. I don't think its different from having two though." She said, giving a small shrug. Her third eye never bothered her, so she was okay with it. "And I'm sure you'll get used to your hooves!" She added with a cheery nod and smile.

"How do we play castle?" Anisia asked curiously. She hadn't heard of that game before. Unfortunately, she hadn't really played much of 'pretend' when she was younger...well, younger than she is now, anyway. Last time she tried, it was with Flitch, and they didn't have enough time to really start.
-------------------------------------
Cameo looked down at her hooves, smiled, and shifted her weight a bit. "Yeah, guess so. I jus' not used to walkin' is all." She played with the end of her shirt absentmindedly as she thought about Ani's question.

"Castle? We play like..." Cameo scrunched her nose up, trying to think of an explanation. How to explain it? "... we are in a castle!" Yep, nothing better than using the word in a definition. Luckily, she added, "Like we're princesses 'n knights 'n-'n DRAGONS!" She threw her hands into the air, as if to emphasize it. "'N things like that!"
-------------------------------------
Ani smiled as she listened to Cameo explain how to play. "I-"

She stopped. Kiita had called her name. Frowning a little, she looked to her younger friend, "Kiita says we have to go. Sorry! We can play another time, okay?" With an apologetic smile, she ran off to her protector.

Moofuls
This had to be the place. Lyrus blinked critically up at the building, frowning faintly. The directory at Aylee's mansion had said this was the address....so it had to be, right? He didn't know. He had never actually seen Ani's house.

Damn, it'd better be.

A second glance around told him it was worth the risk and, approaching the door, he carefully set his gift near it. The 'package', if it could be called such, was oddly wrapped in soft blue fabric, more to protect its contents than for the actual surprise. Two short lengths of yard held the fabric around the gift, and a short note was attached to one.

Taking a small step back, Lyrus frowned down at the gift. Then, satisfied, he nodded and started away.

Hopefully this was the right place.

Note

Ani,

Thanks again. Cookie cake comes later.

"Aaaaaniiii!" Kiita called from downstairs. Some boy named Lyrus had dropped her little girl a present. An absoloutely beautiful gift at that. She never had a boy give her something that nice, especially at a young age!...it made her suspicious.

Anisia came quickly down the stairs. At the sight of the flower, her mouth gaped open. "WOW! Thats so PRETTY, Kiita!" She said, her three eyes positively shining so brightly.

"Glad you think so." Kiita replied, a small smirk tugging at her lips, "'Cause its yours. It says its from a boy named Lyrus. He says thanks and a cookie cake will come later." Her smirk faded and her eyes narrowed a little. "Who is he? How long have you known him? Why is he saying thank you?"...she looked down at the note in her hands, "And a cookie cake too? Good lord, Ani, what did you do to make him bring you presents?!" She asked. Ani was too young.

...Sheistooyoungtohaveadmirersalready,dammit.

"I met Lyrus a few nights ago at the mansion! He's a Sin like me! And he's really fun. He's saying thank you fooor...uhm, being his friend!" Anisia replied, nodding her head and giving her the cutest smile she could put on. "So when does the cake come?" She asked, trying to give her eyes an innocent look.

"...It doesn't say." Kiita said, staring at Ani. She wasn't saying everything, the protector could tell. Shrugging a little, she carefully handed the flower to Ani, "...Well, be careful bringing it into your room!" She said.

The girl held the flower gently and walked up the stairs slowly to her room. Lyrus had made a gorgeous flower. And it was hers! "ALLY LOOK WHAT I GOT!"

...A few seconds later, Kiita could hear the dragon girl.

"Ooo. A booy?"

Threesome of the Future gonk

Another day, another bored streak. Banda was at work, Venoch was a p***k, and Lyrus had retreated to the (relative) safety of the Sin'aeis mansion. As long as he wasn't inside with the man eating plants, it was a nice place to be. Relaxing, sitting around, doing absolutely nothing...bored out of his mind....

Lyrus' first attempt at soothing his boredom had failed. Panpipes were only exciting for so long. But he had something better now: Designing his sword for his Halloween costume. He had finally decided what to go as and, as Banda was making most of the costume, decided to contribute a creation of his own: a glass sword.

Swords were a lot harder than roses.

The lamb Sin glared down at the glass shards set carefully on the ground before him, the remanants of his previous few attempts. They were all too small... The glass broke if he tried to shape it to a sharp enough point. Of course, these were merely models for the big thing, but if he didn't have anything to go by, the result could be all lopsided and whatnot.

How frustrating.
-------------------------------------
On her own this time. Earlier she managed to convince Kiita she could walk to the mansion alone. It wasn't hard finding her way here. She'd been doing it most of her life, so it wasn't anything new or out of the ordinary. The walk was always nice anyway, even on a fall day like this. Ani found it peaceful and it gave her time to reflect on random things.

Last time she had visited the mansion, she bumped into Lyrus and had to save him from that plant. It made her wonder why nobody put up a word of caution or something. Well, Gaia was crazy like that sometimes...okay well, most of the time.

Who would she meet today, she wondered. Part of her hoped to meet up with one of her friends again, another part of her was hoping more of the other Sin were there.

But before she could enter the mansion, something shiny caught her eyes. Turning her head, she spotted Lyrus and some glass on the ground in front of him. With a smile, she held up her hand and waved, "Hi Lyrus!"
-------------------------------------
Sjajan was, surprisingly, not in a good mood and though it was a nice day for fall, she didn't notice, scowling at the ground beneath her feet instead as she approached the mansion. Her hands were shoved deep into her pockets, further evidence of her mood, since usually she was seen launching rocks into things with her slingshot.

As she got closer, she heard a cheery female laugh, an unfamiliar one and looked up, blinking in surprise. Who was that? Pretty girl, and naturally, older. Sjajan rarely met people her age, but at least she could do more with them then when she was a baby. And there was Lyrus too! He'd... Grown. A lot. And gotten hair?

Jani quickened her pace until she was next to the girl, smiling a little bit and feeling the smallest bit better.

"Lyrus! Yah 'airs nice!"

She turned her brown eyes to the girl to find... Three eyes.

"Hoo're yah? Yah're preddy!"
-------------------------------------
The voice distracted him and, for the upteenth time that morning, Lyrus dropped the tiny sword he was crafting. Snarling under his breath, he snatched up one of the unaltered glass pieces and made as if to throw it at the new arrival, but froze when he realized who it was and let the glass fall back to the ground.

No throwing glass at Anisia.

"Hi Ani!" he replied with a wave, suddenly in a much better mood. "How're you today? It--" And he paused, gaze turning to the younger girl who had just arrived.

He grinned. "Thanks. Guess I wasn't broken, huh?" Out of the corner of his eye he glanced back to Anisia while Jani addressed her, but chose to refrain from comment. He'd never hear the end of it if Banda found out.
-------------------------------------
Ani watched Lyrus's reaction with her eyes widening a little and could only take a startled step back. But when he greeted her back, his tone of voice told her it was okay. Maybe she had surprised him. So instead of saying something about it, she gave him another smile, "I'm doin' goo-"

But before she could finish, another girl had popped up next to her side. Smaller and younger. As she complimented Lyrus, she couldn't help but giggle. "I'm Anisia! But Ani for short." She replied. "Oh, and thank you! You're cute too." She added with a smile, "Whats your name?"
-------------------------------------
Jani had finally learned how to say her own name, though the 'Sj' sound was difficult for a todd-no, it was pretty much difficult for everyone but her mother. Stupid Indu.

"Ahm Sjajan, ya kin call meh Jani."

Still, as she heard the other girl's nickname, she blinked up at her almost in an instintive sort of fear and stepped slightly away.

"Anny?"

Jani was not getting along with Anny, at the moment. Not that they were getting along in the first place...

Threesome of the Future - Continued

Ani and Jani are talking. Be polite, or interrupt? Lyrus really wanted to interrupt, but then.. Well, he and Anisia had been talking first, and Jani had interrupted them! Therefore it was perfectly reasonable that he resume the conversation they had been having before.

"So, uh..." Not that he really had anything to say. "Did you see the, er...flower, Ani?" Slightly hopeful. Maybe too hopeful? She had seen it, right? He had delivered it to the right place? She hadn't mentioned it. He would have mentioned it if it had been a gift to him.

Maybe she thought he had just bought it? It kind of looked that way, once Banda had helped with the stand and all. But he HADN'T! Paranoiaparanoiaparanoia. It was all Lyrus could do to keep a smile on his face and refrain from toying with his pocket knife.
-------------------------------------
Anisia frowned a little as Jani stepped away, "Uhm, yeah...but you can still call me Anisia if you want." She said, slightly confused. What was wrong with her nickname? Not used to getting this type of reaction toward her name, she turned her attention to Lyrus.

At the mentioning of the flower, Ani's frown turned upside down. Her facial expression brightening within seconds, "Oh Lyrus, its beautiful! Its so beautiful! I can't believe you could make things like that!" She said, her eyes shining. It had been the most gorgeous thing someone could make her. "I love it." Anisia added, giving him a nice smile.

What she didn't love, however, was how Kiita reacted to the flower. "Who is this Lyrus boy?" and "How long have you known him?" and "Why did he give you this?" And of course, her little dragon sister had to pipe in too, "Oooh, a booy?"
-------------------------------------
Jani's eyes sparkled at the mention of a flower, and the strained expression on Lyrus' face. She wasn't at all upset he'd interrupted, not when she'd felt so uncomfortable. However, since this Ani had a different reaction to this sort of thing, she decided that maybe nicknames had nothing to do with who you were and moved closer to the two older children.

"Ah fower? Lyrus 'ave gif?"

How sweet of him, and slightly out of character, from what she knew. Why'd he do it? Had to have been an ulterior motive... Interesting. Neme had been getting presents lately, so had Indu. Indu got them because it was her birthday, but Neme got them because... People had what Korist called 'crushes' on her. Trying to find out which one, she smiled and peered at Ani a little slyly.

"S'joor birrfday?"
-------------------------------------
Choking back a relieved sigh, Lyrus relaxed and genuinely smiled. Straightening up somewhat, he folded his arms across his chest with a smirk. "Good. I'm glad you like it." And damn, was he. It would've really sucked if she had hated it after he went to all that trouble, or if it had broken or he had brought it to the wrong house or something. But he didn't have to worry anymore.

"Yeeeeah," he mumbled after a moment, eyeing Jani somewhat warily. What, he wasn't allow to give presents? And whyever not?! He was just being nice! ....Actually, that was terribly out of character for him. Oh well. "No, she chopped me out of a plant when it tried to eat me, so it was a thank you thing."

That was all. Yahuh.
-------------------------------------
Ani gave Jani a small smile as she moved closer again. She still didn't understand why Jani reacted the way she did, but she didn't mention it again. She felt it was good the toddler stepped closer again. She'd have to ask later though, the cinnamon girl decided.

Anisia nodded as a response to Jani's first question, "Yup! But its not my birthday for a while. Lyrus already said why." She said, looking to him to give him a smile too.

"I didn't think it would turn out that way! Its so pretty. It looks like an adult did it!" She continued to compliment. "I'm keeping it in a safe place so nobody will break it...or touch it." Ani added. If someone touched it, they were bound to break it. So no touch.

((Edit: Unofficial end.))

Short Visit Between Friends

It was a fairly warmish winter day today, causing the snow that had slowly been building up outside to begin melting. It was kind of sad to see the snow melt, really, because it seemed like so many oppourtunities for playing in the rare white stuff and building with it were just... melting. Well, for a kid that was the reasoning. After all, how often did they get a chance to play in snow? Not often, unless they lived way up North where it snowed all the time.

As a result of this event, Flitch's step was considerably less bouncy than it usually was. Indded, he seemed to be trudging along, the usual pleasant smile that always seemed to be hovering on his face replaced by a small frown. He was upset to see the snow melting, for he'd only gotten two good oppourtunities to play in it. He'd had other grand plans, but it seemed that the sudden rise in temperature had thwarted him from fulfilling them. Damn.

So now he was out walking, not really paying too much attention to wherever he was going. Now that he was older, Anvion allowed him to go most anywhere he wanted, so long he stayed out of known dangerous areas. Simple enough. So now he was just walking, not really doing anything but silently mourning the loss of snow...
-------------------------------------
She had to get out of the house. With the exception of a few snowy days to play outside, most of the season Anisia had spent her time inside trying to keep warm. Well, since Kiita considered it a nice day, she didn't have a problem with Ani getting out and maybe seeing her friends again. Finally.

But since the snow was melting, that meant muddy and moist ground. Wrinkling her nose a little at the softness beneath her sneakers, she stepped carefully and lightly as she could so she wouldn't slip or something.

Spotting someone a few ways away, she perked up a little and looked. His hair color automatically made her think of her friend who taught her how to read, but...he was taller. And were those glasses? Anisia squinted until she got closer, "Flitch?" She called.
-------------------------------------
It was another hectic day in the household of Freize, and so Chael was allowed outside to play for a bit in order to escape. Freize believed that the little ones needed some freedom from the insanity. Of course, he wasn't allowed out so far away from home without someone watching over him. His older 'brother' Spiro was settled a decent distance away, writing busily in his book.

Chael toddled through the snow with glee. Sure, it was melting, but that minor factor could never be enough to bring down a baby. Besides, their yard had yet to melt so badly that there was mud. He made it a good distance before falling to his knees, gloved hands immediately going into the snow. It was his first year seeing snow, and he had been unable to get enough of it. Whilst merrily tossing the white stuff about, he happened to look up. He spotted two older Sin'aeis, his face brightening. He recognised one of them. Sure, he looked a bit different, but... THAT was definately the same boy he had adventured with before. "F'itch!"

He beamed happily, and prepared himself to either crawl or teeter his way on over.
-------------------------------------
Life sucked, Lyrus had decided, flipping his knife open and closed with one hand. Kilah was dead, Banda's hand was badly injured, and now the ******** snow was melting and there was mud everywhere. MUD. Lyrus hated mud with a firey passion. Almost as much as he hated Lex, Jaxom, and Jaxom's pissy cat.

Scowling, Lyrus sidestepped another pile of mush, glaring down at it a moment before continuing past. Stupid mud. If he got one speck on his shoes, he might just have a heart attack. Lyrus was a tad OCD when it came to messes. The boy was seriously considering finding a bunch of rocks to dump in all the puddles on the off chance that he could walk without getting nasty. That would show them. Now where was he going to get-

The mud puddles were saved by the sound of a familiar voice, and Lyrus' head snapped up, eyes flickering towards it. He grinned, immediately brightening up considerably, and flipped his knife closed once more, pocketing it and waving a greeting to his friend--only noticing the other two afterwards. "Ani! And, uh..." Well, he didn't know the others. "What're you doing here?"
-------------------------------------
Wow. So it seemed that he wasn't the only one out and about today. A wide grin spit across Flitch's face as he waved enthusiastically to both Ani and Chael, his downtrodden mood dissapating.

"Heey!" he called out, laughing a little at Ani's questioning manner. "Yep, it's me. I got bigger!" Pushing his glasses up his nose, the blue-haired Sin' trotted over to Ani, but making sure that he was close enough for Chael to get in on the conversation, too. Chael wasn't too far off; hopefullly the infant could manage to crawl over here. if not, Flitch would happily carry him over.

He was about to say more when he noticed a boy waving at Anisia. Flitch didn't know this one, so he gave a small wave of greeting. "Hello~"
-------------------------------------
As she waited for Flitch to make his way over, a smaller voice caught her attention. She turned slightly to see the little boy crawling over toward them. Giving him a small smile, even though she doubted he would see it from here, she waved to him, "Hi!"

"Yeah, you did!" Ani added, giving a small giggle when he pushed up his glasses. It was funny seeing him with them on his face. "Why do you have to wear glasses?" She asked, tilting her head a little to the side.

Then she heard her name being called. Turning she looked to find..."Lyrus! She greeted happily. She hadn't seen him in a long time! She automatically returned his grin with a bright smile, "Kiita finally let me out of the house because it was a warmer day than usual. What about you guys?" She asked the three boys. It didn't even cross her mind she was the only girl here.
-------------------------------------
The little guy moved to crawl on over, coming to a stop beside Flitch. Phew. That was a long crawl for a baby. He smiled brightly up at the girl, and then turned it to the unfamiliar boy. He lifted a hand and clenched and unclenched his fist- a small wave. "Hi!" He kept still for only a moment or so before he moved to an unsteady stand, clutching lightly onto Flitch's pantleg in order to keep upright. "F'itch big!" He noted, wing-ears twitching slightly. He hadn't seen Flitch in a good long while, and last time he had... The fish boy was most certainly not this big.

"Whassat?" He pointed up at the glasses, having never seen anyone wearing glasses before. They managed to hold the little guy's attention for a matter of seconds before his eyes turned back towards the new people curiously.

"I Chael!" He noted after a moment or so, smiling towards them. He did so like meeting new people, after all.
-------------------------------------
Oh lovely, a nerd and a baby. Lyrus grimaced, but only briefly. A friend of Ani's was a friend of his, or some such s**t. And Flitch, had she said? The name sounded vaguely familiar. Lyrus had a feeling Kilah had mentioned the boy to him a while back. If so, well, he'd tolerate him all the more for her sake.

Or in her memory, or whatever.

But Ani was the important one here. "Just getting out of the house. It's, uh...nice out." Except for the mud. Turning to Flitch, he quirked a brow, then nodded slightly in greeting to both him and the baby, folding his arms. "Nice to meet you, I guess. I'm Lyrus."
-------------------------------------
"I have to wear glasses now because I read too much and now they can't focus properly on far away objects," Flitch explained. "These help my eyes focus my eyes.

"And yep, I got taller," he added with a laugh, bending down to pick up Chael. Well, he only got a little taller. Compared to most other kids his age, Flitch was still fairly small. But that idn't seem to bother him in the least.

At Lyrus' introduction, Flitch smiled and returned the nod. "Nice to meet you, Lyrus. I'm Flitch. Don't think we've met before..."
-------------------------------------
"Thats good that you have them and you can see with them, but I don't think I'd like to wear them." Ani said to Flitch, trying to imagine herself with glasses. She didn't like the what she imagined. So she'd make sure she didn't read so much like Flitch did. Anvion had a very, very, very big library, so she wasn't too surprised he read so much. "And speaking of reading, I'm getting better, Flitch! My spelling still needs a little work, but I'm practicing!" She said with a nod. Indeed, she had been practicing by herself since the last time she and Flitch worked together. And as for her writing, well, how she put it was an understatement.

"Hi there, Chael! I'm Ani." She said to the little boy as Flitch picked him up. She gave Chael a smile. A smart baby Sin. She couldn't talk much as a baby, Kiita told her. Maybe one or two words. He seemed to know what was happening around him. Smart.

As if Anisia read Lyrus's thoughts, she added after him, "I hate the mud though." She said, her nose wrinkling a little in dislike for a moment as she looked down at the ground before it quickly faded. She was glad her two friends were meeting though, so she stood and let them speak to each other.
-------------------------------------
Chael made a pleased noise as he was picked up- it didn't matter that Flitch was short for his age, either. He was still tall to the baby. "Aah!" He took this time to investigate those wierd 'glasses' things, just lifting a tiny hand to pat the sides before seeming satisfied. "F'itch nee' ta see?" He asked about the glasses before turning his head back towards Ani. He smiled merrily towards her. "Ani!" He echoed, as if it helped remember it better or to show he understood.

He looked up to Flitch again, "F'itch fwens wif Ani?" He had learned how to talk early, mainly because he was an eager to please sort and Freize was big on teaching his kids. He wriggled his fingers in his gloves before shifting a bit to stare at Lyrus. "L'rus." He said, in the same manner as he did 'Ani'.

Androgyny, Extra Eyes, and See-Through Hair

Jan laying on her stomach, relaxed as she stretched out on the grass in front of the Sin'Aeis mansion. She'd spent the morning and earlly afternoon working in the garden, and was taking a break before moving on to her musical hobby. In fact, her guitar was lying a short distance away, beat-up notebook and pencil lying on top of it, along with her long-sleeved undershirt.

As it was, it'd gotten hot enough for her to remove it, only wearing her vest-like tunic-fashioned shirt, and still feel warm. Barefoot, she crossed her legs behind her in the air, intense expression ruined by the hint of pink that was her tongue sticking out in concentration.

She was whittling. And it was actually coming out really well. She had plenty of practice. A rose, a gift to match one already in glass. Lyrus had also given Sjajan a glass rose, and now she made a wooden one. Sure, she had dozens in her garden, but they wouldn't last...
-------------------------------------
Ani hummed quietly to herself as she slowly made her way toward the mansion, twirling her ring of flowers with her finger. Another nice sunny day, and she was dressed for the weather ~ a casual wifebeater and some shorts. Of course, Kiita had made sure none of her shorts or skirts were too short, despite knowing how hot it could get. Anisia wasn't at a stage where she cared much for clothes...yet.

Once the mansion was in sight, a familiar face came into view. "Jan!" She called out, skipping her way over and plopping down beside her. A big smile formed on her face. It was always awesome seeing Jan. She crossed her legs to sit indian-style as she looked over at what Jan was whittling, "What'cha making?" Ani asked, still smiling.
-------------------------------------
The landscape danced and shimmered as the heat wove its’ magic spell over a not-so-far horizon. Everything seemed alive and of great curiosity, offering much entertainment for the odd couple that appeared as a rather abstract break in the sunlit serenade. Who was this? An unfamiliar face to the Sin, although oddly enough one could see a bundled baby in her arms, if one only dared look close enough. Dare? This might not be such a terribly difficult thing to overcome, save for the fact that rather than the child – anyone would be immediately tempted to look up into the womans’ face, where golden ringlets spilled about and prettily framed, a writhing set…of tentacles. The curls bounced along with them, the woman completely oblivious to the oddity of her features, or for the fact a giant shell sat perched upon her head. All she cared for was the journey and destination, along with the child she had been blessed to carry on.

Pouple was quite pleased with the matter. He made no audible noise, choosing instead to nestle tighter into his mothers’ bosom – hiding from the daylight, and just about everything else they passed. He made no movement of recognition when she stopped, having finally reached a few feet away from the other two beings, and shifted him to the next arm so that she could wave. “`Allo there!”
-------------------------------------
Jan's serious eyes shifted over momentarily to shoot a gaze over Anisia, the momentary quirk of her lips a greeting before turning back to what she was doing, and finishing.

"A gift, for you."

Now a quick flash of teeth revealed a genuine grin, before settling back to a small, half smile, and she shifted slightly, so her weight was on her elbows, propping herself up.

"Here."

She'd been working on it since the last time they'd seen each other, in the mansion's kitchen with Ancelin. Since she told her of her body's lethal aversion to blood, and meat, and anything that stole life from an animal. Now she held it up, carefully. A yellow rose, like the ones in her garden. Reminding her of the sun, and Anisia too.

She tensed, when the woman had shouted, and didn't look at her, swallowing, and forcing herself to continue to hold the rose out. After a long moment, her gaze moved to the woman. Dark brown eyes regarded the older woman's physicallities noncommitally, and she nodded, once, twice.

"'Lo. Tha' a Sin'aeis ya got there, Ma'am?"

Who cared what she looked like? Of course, Anisia didn't like icky things. Like crab kisses. Jan, personally, felt completely neutral.
-------------------------------------
"For...me?" Anisia couldn't hide the fact she was surprised. She regained herself though and accepted the flower, her big smile returning. She liked surprises though. "Thank you so much, Jan! Its really pretty." She said as she carefully looked it over in her hands. It was a little hard for her to thank people...she could never find the right words to say, and whatever she DID say made her sound less grateful than she really was. But hopefully Jan could see she was happy.

Before she could say anything else, Ani turned her attention to the other person Jan had just greeted. Obviously, the first thing she saw were the tentacles and it took her a moment before she could say anything. "H-Hello." She greeted a little awkwardly. Sure...she had tentacles. But she seemed friendly enough. Definitely not like the crab.
-------------------------------------
What little friendliness was given, was more than enough to make the wave become almost frantic with glee. It slowed after a moment, and the arm again came down to cradle the infant. Her attentions stood fixated upon the girls, and at the query she nodded and made to fetch out her little one.

“He es a leetle Squid Sin’aees. Ees name is Powpel! Are yew Sin’aees es well?”

By this time she had grabbed ahold of him and gently held out the bundle for them to see, apparently not grasping that she was lacking in any of the usual ‘new parent’ overprotection.

This, finally, gained response, and the little boy looked at the females with intense worriment. It was his very first time having ever seen either of them, and he was not at all sure whether or not they intended to try and hurt him. Infantile whimpers came forth, and in the grasp he began to squirm back towards the safety of his ‘Momma’.
-------------------------------------
Jan had nodded slowly in response to Kiita, noting her body's response more than her verbal one. She liked it. A lot. That satisfied the tall girl, and her freckled face turned toward the tentacle-woman again, rising up to her knees to make a soothing noise deep in her throat. When that didn't seem to have any effect on the boy, she tried something else. Instead of speaking, she reached out, and ran a gentle hand through his... odd... hair, letting one finger run over his cheek, then under his chin to tilt it. None of this was forced, and she paused, to give him a chance to escape if he desired.

"Es he deaf, Ma'am?"

Jan's little sister, Yael was deaf. She'd learned sign-language because of it, also, Yael had taught herself to read lips, but that had taken a long time to learn.

"Ah'm Jan. 'Tato, en' tha's Anisia, cin'mun bun."
-------------------------------------
A Squid Sin'aeis? His name was a little hard to make out with the lady's accent though. Ani nodded to her question and smiled as she sat back and watched Jan look over the little boy. He looked normal enough...although she began to wonder if he had tentacles underneath that baby blanket.

"Deaf?" She asked, more to herself rather than the others. She looked to Jan. She'd heard that word before and knew what it meant. How was her friend able to tell?

"You can call me Ani if you'd like." She added after Jan. It might be easier to pronounce for her. "So he's...Powpel? Whats your name?" She asked politely.
-------------------------------------
Crystal sloooowly inclined her head, before a sort of helium induced laughter came forth, and she shook her head.

“No, sillee! He es varry much alife. See?”

The ‘see’ she was referring to, was the childs’ reaction to the touch. For a moment he looked ready to cry – than, little by little of her ministrations, the expression waned and he reached out to grab her hand. His own was so tiny in comparison! It caused him great fascination, and he tried turning it this way and that to make sure that it really was a hand like his.

Crystal beamed at his budding curiosity, and looked towards them both in turn.

“Es nise to meet you! I em Creestal, and I es Powpels’ mothere!”
-------------------------------------
Jan understood her accent rather well actually, and shook her head slowly, cautiously taking her child from her arms, and allowing him to continue playing with her hand.

"Ah mean, kin he 'ear anythin? An', nice ta meetcha, Crystal."

Waggling her fingers at the squid boy, she smiled, and glanced at Anisia.

"Pouple. He kin't 'ear us, so say hi with yer body."

It wasn't too hard to tell. Deaf children were very shy, but once they felt safe, they were very physically explorative.
-------------------------------------
For a moment, Ani thought she might have misunderstood Jan saying 'death' instead of 'deaf.' Then she figured it was Crystal who misunderstood when Jan explained what she meant. She couldn't help but give a light chuckle at the mistake...but nothing too drastic. That would be rude.

"Ooh." Anisia looked to Jan, then back to the baby Sin she was holding. She waved her own fingers and gave him a smile. "Hi there, Pouple!" She greeted. Yeah...he was deaf and probably couldn't understand since he was still a baby. But felt she needed to talk to him anyway.

"How long have you had him?" Ani asked, turning her attention to Crystal so she wouldn't be left out.
-------------------------------------
Pouple clutched Jans’ finger a little tighter, whilst his eyes fixated and followed those waving before him. The infant didn’t seem to understand the movement – thus causing him to seek out minimal reasoning, to determine what to do about it.

Crystal shook her head and looked at her child. “I `ave only `ad him foor one day, and I cannaw geet him to leesen to me. I theenk you ar rite, Jan.” Thank gods for explinations from some one who seemed to understand her perfectly. Usually, people asked her to repeat three or four times before getting it! This was certainly a nice change, and certainly very educational. If not for Jan – perhaps she would have never even thought of him being unable to hear her. Up until just now, she’d just thought he was ignoring her!

“I due deerlee like him, he just dus not seem to oonderstind me.”
-------------------------------------
Jan's brown gaze was running quickly over the babe in her arms, and she seemed... Fascinated. In fact, she didn't even acknowledge Crystal's comment, which some would have considered rude. Luckily, Anisia was there to do damage control as Jan looked Pouple over. A smile lifted one corner of her mouth, one, if people knew her, signalled true appreciation or affection, among other things. It was more real than the fuller, half smile she often gave to appease others.

Slim, long fingers tickled his belly after examining the translucent strands that served as his hair. Each Sin'Aeis was incredibly unique, and it was great to find one that'd let her check him out like this. Some were more opposed to touch, but personally, Sjajan Reever craved it. She felt skin hunger, and understood it in others. However, her friends rarely touched her, and that hurt. Perhaps in younger friends, she could find solace?

Over the course of her thoughts, the smile had fadded, that touch of saddeness darkening her gaze as it had during her time of recluse, in which she'd avoided other people. But this was a different time, and she shook it off, harshly.
-------------------------------------
"Only a day?" Ani said, looking back to Pouple. Then her gaze slowly shifted to Jan, watching her as she observed the baby. It was a rather peaceful sight, looking at the two of them. A small smile touched her lips, then she turned her attention to Crystal again so they weren't interrupted.

"Well, he's still a little baby. So...even if he could hear, he might not be able to understand much of anything anyway." Anisia said. Though she had to admit, a lot of the Sin were very smart for their ages. With Pouple, it would be harder to tell right now just how smart he was. "And also, its only been a day. After a while, things should begin to get easier between you two."
-------------------------------------
By no means did the child mind. Laughter came as she prodded his belly, fading off into the continuous silence as he watched her. The babe knew not if this feeling of quiet understanding would last, but he reached out to Jan, hoping it would. Pouple hoped so.

Crystal weighed the facts for a moment, before finally nodding to Ani. “Eet weel get better. Evin if he cannot speek.”
-------------------------------------
Jan kissed his little fingers before blowing hair from her eyes and finally letting her gaze dart between the two other girls, expression solemn.

"He's verra smart. Y'shoul' start teachin' 'im sign-language soon as ya kin."

A firm nod, and she smiled at the babe before handing him back to his new mother, and standing, to brush off her pants. Smiling, she reached out a hand, in case Anisia decided to leave too.

"Ah'm gonna git goin', act'lly. Y'stickin' 'round Ani...?"

A helping hand was there, if she needed it.
-------------------------------------
Anisia paused for a moment before a small smile tugged at her lips, "No, I think I should be leaving as well." Kiita might be wondering what she's been doing, so she figured leaving would be best right now.

She reached her hand out and closed it around Jan's before pulling herself up off the ground. Before she let go, she gave her friend a quick hug, "See you around, Jan." She said before turning to face Crystal and Poup, "It was nice meeting you two."

With another smile, Ani began walking away from the mansion with her rose in hand.
