*Aly smiled at Spirit when she decided to sit down and make her sefl comfortable. They would be here for a long time now, especially if Maya was going to start the conversation about Louis. It was true, she would rather be exploring the mansion, rather then sitting at the table having to act very proper. Sometimes she wished that she was able to disappear somewhere else or be somewhere else. Someone who didn't have to look so neat and proper and be so elegant. In fact, it was the complete opposite at home. When people were not around to see her, she was often in slacks, with her hair all over the place. It was true that her house was clean, but she was an organized person. She loved to have fun and when she wasn't busy trying to figure out cases, she was often out at a place where her and friends could relax. But lately, she had been stuck in her home trying to figure out the Louis case. It did interest her but when people whom she didn't know came and introduced themselves, she enjoyed to get to know them, just as she and Anime had done. Aly sighed softly, and made herself comfortable. Once settled, she fixed her gaze upon Maya and waited for what she wanted to say to start this conversation.*

*Maya thought for a moment about what she wanted to do. Should she suggest that they all solve this Louis mystery togther? Or would they not be interested? But how could they not be? Not knowing the secrets of the past bothered Maya for reasons she could not explain. Maya decided to try her plan. "I have an idea. You don't have to go along with this if you don't want to, but how about we try to solve Louis' mystery together? I'm really curious personally, and I think it would be easier to solve the mystery if we used teamwork. After all, four heads are better than one, right?" Maya giggled and then stopped herself. She thought maybe she had had one sip too many of the expensive wine served. If they agreed to help her, she would reveal the rumour she knew to them. "So," she continued, "what do you say?"

*Aly listened to Maya's plan. She had suggested that they all work together to piece this puzzle, but what if it didn't work out? It was true that her and Anime had agreed to work together but that didn't mean that it would not work out. Aly was worried when Anime had agreed to work with her. She loved Anime's company and she thought that Anime was a wonderful person, but Aly did not have good experiences working in groups. She had often kept to herself and listened to other people's advice. Anything that she had to contribute would always be shot down and so Aly never did. No one never took notice to her and never told her anything. But it was in this way that she had gotten to be as good as she was at her job. Because no one ever told her information, she was able to become sneaky to do it. Of course, her job was nothing she was proud about and if anyone asked her what she did, she would lie. But because she was so good at her job, it was why she loved it. The way she was able to get information and piece it together by herself had made her one of the top people in her occupation. She was clever and sneaky, but found she worked better by herself. Maybe I should decline? Aly thought, but then decided against it. Before answering she threw one look at Anime and then returned her attention to Maya.* "Well," Aly hesitated, " I guess you can count me in."

*Spirit stared at her hands, she was extremely nervous, she did really want to solve the mystery of Luis, and working in a ground would most likely make things move faster. But she knew that she didn’t work well in groups, not after what had happened, she shook her head slightly, stopping the memory from popping of back into her head. That was then and this is know, she told herself, don’t live in the past, wasn’t that what her mother had always tried to tell her? Well it was about time she listened to her. Spirit looked up from her hand at Maya, “Sounds like fun, I’m in.”*

*Maya felt excited. Aly and Spirit had already agreed to join. Soon they would all be able to help together. Now all she needed was a response from Anime.

*Spirit stared down at hands which were folded on top of her lap, her whole body hurt. Being proper was such a burden, sit up straight, hold your chin up high, always put on a smile, and on and on. She was very glad her mother had never made her go to classes that all the other girls went to, she remembered her mom telling her that though kinds of classes, on how to be a proper lady, were the very things sucking the life out of get togethers. She had said that parties and such should be the places were people got to meet the real you, and have fun, not for people to act the same way and then laughed at someone if they didn’t say the right response to a question. She took a deep breath, ok Spirit, just be you she told herself. She looked up at the girl who said her name was Aly, “So what brought you to this party?” she asked Aly hoping her nerves wouldn’t show.*

*Aly's attention snapped to focus on Spirit's question. It was obvious to her that Spirit was trying her hardest to be as sociable as possible and to look ediquiate as well. She smiled warmly toward her and reflected on the question. There was no doubt that her own curiousity had brought Aly to search for the clues, but it was also her ego too. To try and prove her family wrong, and that she was better then what they thought, had got her involved in these molested, twisted murders. With that thought, she grimanced. It wasn't something she was going to go around and broadcast, seeming how it wasn't something to brag about. Aly shook her head, and returned her focus to Spirit.* "Well, I guess you could say my curiousity and my ego brought me here." Aly explained, "You see, I have something to prove, and I will not stop until I achieve my goal. Now as for my curiousity, I have always beens interested in things unexplainable and quite bizzare." Aly smiled at the thought of some of the cases she had been on in the past, and then shook her head. It was as if they just called out to her, telling her to go there and solve it. If something happened, the people knew that she would be there as soon as they could and it never surprised them. "What about you?" Aly asked, curiously.*

*Spirit smiled, she seemed to be calming down a little; her shoulders even seemed to relax, but that probably meant she wasn’t sitting straight any more. Aly amazed her, she had always wanted to be the kind of person who could go out and prove something to the world, even if it wasn’t really important to others, you just did it because it was what you believed in, Spirit wished she had that kind of gut. When Aly asked why she had come it made her think. Why had she come? It most defiantly was not the type of event she would even consider going to before, and she didn’t have anything to prove. Then she remembered something her mother had said, it was about a month before she had died and she was talking about some kind of big party. She had seemed really excited for it, and it had surprised Spirit because her mom never talked about parties and stuff with her, she knew it was something Spirit was not comfortable with, yet she had talked about it with such longing that at the moment Spirit even thought it would be fun. Then she was gone and the moment had left Spirit, she didn’t even know if this was the party her mom was talking about. She looked at Aly, she seemed really nice, but Spirit could tell that she was probably higher up on the “food chain” as the girls in her school use to call it, and even if Aly was nothing like those she really didn’t want to tell Aly about her mothers death, she remembered when her mom had just died everyone was oh you poor thing, but you could tell they really didn’t care and then they would always look at you a different way, she didn’t want that to happen with Aly. “My mom thought it would be a good experience for me, it’s like she knew that there would be a mystery to solve, I always loved reading those kind of books.” She said with a smile, “doesn’t it just give you this kind of thrilled feeling, like you don’t really know what’s going to happen next, I love it!” Spirit felt her face turn red, what was she saying? Was it weird, did she just mess up?*

*Aly's whole body started to tremble and she burst out laughing. She knew how disrespectful it was to just laugh that loud out of nowhere and she could feel the stares of others, but for once in her life, she didn't care. After a few moments, she quieted down and settled once again. She stared at her feet for a moment and then apologized for her rude outburst. She wasn't sure what had overcome her, was it possible that it was because they had a lot in common? Aly was not only here for her own dignity, but also, because she loved there kinds of cases. Even if Spirit wasn't telling the truth, and she suspected that she was not telling the whole truth, she must be here for some part of the excitement of not knowing. Aly nodded in agreement and smiled warmly at Spirit to let her know that it was okay.* "Yes, I guess there a feeling of not knowing that surges through your body at the time when you enter the case." Aly commented. " Have you ever been in a case like this before though?" Aly was simply curious to know if Spirit had ever worked on a case like this before. It was not an ordinary case, because every single person in this very room knew something different about it. The rumours floating around the town had not helped either, and it was up to them to figure out who did it. If they did, then they could finally put it to rest, and hopefully, the angry unknown that waited above to allow everyone to know the truth.*

*Spirit felt her face turn bright red, she felt so embarrassed. It surprised her to hear Aly say that she experienced the same kind of feelings, or was she just saying that to be nice? Slowly she felt her face cool down a bit and she hoped that it wasn’t as red anymore, “Well actually I have never had a case before, this would be my first,” she looked down at her hand as she talked, “I don’t get out much.” Spirit looked out over the crowd, the bright colours of people dancing seemed to blend together perfectly, she let out a small sigh and turned back to Aly, “Have you ever had a case before? You seem like you know what you’re doing.”*

*Aly flashed a quick smile towards Spirit and nodded her head. She had been in a handful of cases, not quite like these but similar. The outcomes of the cases swirled in her head and she sighed at the thought of each one of them. It had taken many sleepless nights and days to find the answer and she remembered the pressure and frustration it had caused. That was not her favorite part of the cases but it was always fun trying to find the information needed. Now, perhaps this case would not be so busy because she had help to assist her.* "Yes. I have been on multiple cases before and that is probably why I have a little bit more knowledge but I am still not as qualified as others." Aly told Spirit and then turned to Maya, would had fallen silent beside her.* "Maya, have you ever done this before?" *

* Maya was startled by Aly's sudden questioning. She had been listening so carefully to Spirit Aly talking, that she had forgotten she was even there with them. "No, I can't say I have," Maya replied. "I sort of studied journalism when I was in school, and we worked on non-existent cases. That probably doesn't count for much. But I really want to work on a serious case." Maya paused and looked down. "I'm actually kind of embarrassed to ask to work on it with you both, since I don't have much experience." She looked back up again. "Are you sure it's okay? I won't be offended if you say no."

*Aly smiled pleasantly back at Maya and Spirit. Even if they had no experience in this field, it would still be much funner then if she were by herself. Aly gazed around the room briefly, and sighed. No matter what they had agreed to, they still barely knew each other and if they were to work together, then perhaps it would be best if they knew some things. Any uncomfortable times of course would not have to be shared but Aly hoped that if they became good enough friends, then eventually they could be shared.* "I think it might be for the best if we each told something about each other," Aly replied thoughtfully,"that way we know each other well enough. Anything private though, you can keep to yourself." Aly looked at Maya and Spirit, to see how her idea would be answered.*

*Spirit liked the idea of working together, it seemed like it would be easier and maybe even fun. She was starting to get a little more comfortable around the other two girls when Aly came up with the idea for each of them to share something about oneself. Spirit could have sworn that she felt her hear skip a beat. She could feel every nerve in her body screaming at her to run, like she had told herself so many other times. She quickly pinched her arm to make her calm down, what was she getting all nervous about anyway? Aly had said it didn’t have something private. She quickly tried to think of something about her that others would want to hear, she came up with nothing, she thought about making up something but immediately shook away the idea, Aly and Maya was being really nice to her and she didn’t want to lie to them more then she already had. “That sounds like a great idea,” she said in a low voice, hoping someone would go first so that she could have more time to think.*

*Maya could tell that Spirit was uncomfortable. She obviously didn't want to go first, probably because she was shy, so Maya decided to go first to break the ice. "Well, I'm almost 17 and I'm from London," she said. "I came here to get away from my family, mainly my mother. You see, she is always telling me what to do: what to wear, what contests to enter, what courses to take in school. And if I do well in those things, she will give me whatever I want. But then when I don't do so well, she ignores me completely. Her attitude seems to be 'I'll love you if you please me.' Not that she hasn't given me much. She has. But I'd rather her say 'no' to my unnecessary wants and love me and tell me it's okay, even when I fail. Isn't that what most mothers are like?" Maya paused, but not long enough for a response from the other two. "I suppose she just got messed up and tried to plan a perfect life for me ever since my older brother died." Maya paused again unintentionally. He had always been her favourite in the family. He actually understood her, cared about her feelings, and he was so good to everyone he met. Memories of him came flowing back to her, from when she was little up until his funeral. She felt a pang of loneliness and grief. The pause she took felt like forever, but she knew it couldn't have been more than a second. "I miss him, but I know he wouldn't want me to stop living just because he did. 'Don't die with me,' he had said. So I decided to do what I wanted with my life and follow my own dreams as soon as I got old enough. This is where I chose to start - so that's why I am here. I, uh, can't think of anything else to tell you guys about me at the moment....Oh yeah! I love chocolate," Maya finished. She just had to add that last part in there.
