((Out of warp drive, not into.))
Half an hour later Rio was drumming his fingers in the pilot information hologram projector causing the changing runes to distort and blur. They were probably on their eight "safty check" of the information he provided.
"Alright, you seem to check out," the ofical's voice said over the communication. "Just two more questions. First, where did you come from, and second why do you not have a place of residence?"
"I come from Bam, I left about six days ago," replied Rio. "I live in my choppidu."
"Bam, okay. We'll send an escort up to guide you." The com went dead.
"I can find my own way," Rio muttered to no one.
There was no remark on Bam which meant that the Juon had not heard of its destruction. After all they left quickly and no body else would have headed for Mauchi. It was impossible to get news across planets except by going there in person.

Chris turned to Rio, A worried expression on his face a said, " Rio, Why are you not accepting the help? Think about it, If something were to go wrong they could help us. And when you told me to go back to Bam, Why did you make me turn us around immediatly after we picked up the passenger?"

Rio was silent for a moment. "I was going back to help the best man I've ever known. But I couldn't. I am going to get help - but not from officals. There are others to do that for me."
Two choppidu flanked him as they entered the atmosphere with two visable missles on each of their sides. They guided Rio to a port in Mauchi. The spaceport city was named Frioe.
Rio struggled up out of his seat and popped the glass atop the craft open and climbed down the side of the thirty-three foot tall sphere shaped and onto the dirt patch surrounding the craft.

Kara scowled as Chris referred to her as "the passenger" as though she wasn't sitting right behind them. She'd done just as much on the ship as he had over the last six days! She bit back a sharp retort, settling for glaring at his back instead as Rio sat silent for a moment. When he said he couldn't go back for his friend, Kara bit her lip, the anger from a moment before shoved aside. Guilt took its place, and she wondered if he would have abandoned the rescue mission if he hadn't had to think about an extra passenger on his ship. Was it her fault? She shook her head. There wasn't much she could do about it...except help Rio find him. She nodded to herself, her decision made. As long as he was looking for his friend, she would help him out as best she could. No matter what.
They landed several moments later, and Kara climbed out of the ship after Rio, letting Chris out last. As she stood on the dusty landing site, she finger-combed her auburn and blue hair back into a ponytail and looked around their surroundings.
"So we're here, I guess. Now what?" She asked Rio.

"Now, we find Him," replied Rio.
He paid the owner of the port the landing fee and walked out of the port without seeing if they were following. He stood and looked along the many rows of wood and rock buildings. Not a single building was made of metal or carbon-steel. Many trees grew right in the city and one could see the innumerable hills all around as well as the Mountains in the distant north-east.
Rio began walking, ignoring the orange sun's heat on the back of hs neck.

After the very boring 2 days of doing pretty much nothing in his cargo ship, Cheoro fiannly got to the landing port in his distanation of Frioe. "At last, i cna go to a place where there are more of my own. The smell of that wretched race will never come off of me."
The communication came on and a voice sounded through it. "Looks like you finally came back. Wuh, i can smell you from all the way here in the port." "Very funny Vero." came another voice on the communacation. but this vocie was alot soother than the other. "You still have to mock him for that job with those other guys."
"It wasnt me that had him take the job Listra." Stated Veo. "Look, can someone just let me into the port, Or do i have to knock?" Cheoro replayed to both the voices. "Ok, looks like you check out Cheoro. Come on in."

As Chris looked at Kara, He said, " Listen Kara, I am sorry for referring to you as the passenger. I have just been sad recently cause my parents and sister were killed by my brother and well. Im out for vengence so that everybody can rest peacefully. I never meant to say what i did back there."

((A little too direct, but whatever.))
Rio stopped suddenly, Chris and Kara still near the port entrance and not observing his where abouts just as a gun cocked and came level with his head.
"Don't move," hissed its weilder in Yoan.
Rio rolled his eyes, wondering why they even bothered. He did not know who this person was or why he had a gun to his head, but then he didn't really care. Before the man could squeeze, Rio had ducked out of the way and knocked his arm aside so that when the report finally echoed aroung the hills, greeted with shrill and hoarse screams alike, it flew wide and sparked off a stone shop. In the same motion Rio had grabbed his attacker's wrist, twisted it and caught the gun as it fell out of his hand. He then pulled him close to him and locked him in place, holding the gun under his chin.
Another gun cocked and Rio looked, in somewhat irritation, at the new enemy. Rio's hostage whimpered something Rio did not understand to which he friend replied something that could easily be inturpeted as "shut up." Then he spoke to Rio, shifted his gun aim past his head. RIo cursed Mauchi's pathectic Law Enforcement system.
"Release my companion or I shoot yours. You could try and stop me, but to save just one of them you would need to release my friend. the result is one less on your side."
"How do you know I am with anybody?" asked Rio sharply.
"We have seen with you."
What the bloody hell does that mean? Bam was deserted when we left and we've been space since then.
The offender smiled as if he thought he knew what Rio was thinking, though he next phrase suggested that he didn't.
"You are not going to shoot anyone, Morrie."
A gun cocked and levelled with the offender's head.
"No, but I will," said Mundiel Hadrick.

A shot rang out, and her gun suddenly appeared in Kara's able hands. Her head whipped around, searching for the disturbance, when her eyes fell on Rio and two other men. One he was holding hostage while the second pointed the gun at Chris, trying to barter with Rio. Either he hadn't noticed her, or he had dismissed her as no threat to him. Both were huge mistakes. She slowly and silently walked toward Rio, and aimed her gun at the second man, hoping she would get there in time to give Rio backup. She was about ten feet away when another man appeared behind the second man. Kara almost let out a sigh as a gun was leveled at the second man's head. She widened her stance, aiming at the second man's head and taking extra care to make sure it was obvious who she was about to shoot. She didn't want their new friend to shoot her on accident.
"Can I shoot him yet?" She asked Rio in perfect Yoan, her accent mocking their peculiar clipped tones. "Or are we still arguing?" Her eyes were hard as she stared at the man.

It was Hadrick who replied. "We need him alive or I would have let you take him." He nodded at Rio who looked at Mundeil with an odd mix of interest and wariness.
Before either one of them could do anything more shots rang out - one of them passed through Rio's shoulder and several of them buried themselves in the other man's chest. Rio hit the deck and through watered eyes saw Hadrick running off in the direction of the shots, though Rio couldn't see how he knew where they came from.
"Mun - " began Rio.
"Get him to safty!" was Hadrick's only reply.
Rio looked around and saw the the man he held had one bullet in him - the bullet that passed through Rio's shoulder. He was still alive, but not for long if the shots continued. Rio tried to help him up, but his should hurt no matter how he held him.
"Help me with him," he said desprately to Kara.

Cheoro walked around on the port for awhile, catching up with others to see what they did when he was away. Than he started to walk out of the port and noticed that there were gunshots being fired. "I swear, if its some of those Grutains i'll....." Cheoro was about to finish his sentance when he saw the people who were shooting, or being shot at as it were. Two of them were bleeding. Cheoro walked up to both of the ones that were bleeding and looked at their wounds. "Well, at lest there will be less of you guys running around now."

Kara ducked as more shots rang out, and their unexpected ally ran off in pursuit. Rio called for help, and Kara looked over at him in surprise. His shoulder was bleeding heavily, and he was trying to hold up the first man. Quickly holstering her gun, she moved over to the man's other side and lifted him up with a little difficulty.
"Go, I've got him!" She told Rio, seeing immediately that he would be more hinderance than help with his shoulder wounded. "Lead the way!" She wrapped the man's arm over her shoulder and started hauling him with her. "Never a dull day with you." She she told Rio with a half grin as more shots rang out over the landing pad.

"You have no idea," laughed Rio honestly, running ducking under the cross-fire. He had not noticed another man looking upon their wounds in migled delight.
Once in realtive safty with Kara, Chris and their wounded prisioner, Rio leaned against the allwy wall. He was breathing heavily, not from the running or the pain, but from what he was preparing to do. He was shot again when protecting Chris and his companions hadn't realised it. It wasn't that hard for Rio to hide things. He reached to his shoulder - the new wound had buriied itself next to the old. He started digging to it ...

Chris looked at the wound that Rio had just recieved. Chris suddenly thought, ' Rio got injured!' Chris then looked at Rio and said, " Rio, Why dont you let me get the bullet out of you? I make a better doctor than i do a gunner." Chris then had another thought about back when he was in college, 'At least i have a phd in medical treatments.'

"Ever treated a bullet wound?" asked Rio with some difficulty. Adrennline only went so far in stalling pain. "Without any meication. A war wound, in short? We need to move in a few minutes, if were luckly we won't have less time. The best thing that was sould do is get the bloody thing out of my body. It might be lead."
He held down a shriek. He had talked to distract him from the pain, but now he afraid that if he opened his mouth he would scream with all his lungs. Finally he brought the bullet out and held it tight.
"We need to find Hadrick. He'll know where He is," said Rio, moving forward and hoping his addrennilin would last or he would get another excuse for it to be pumped.
He excuse was waiting for them at the end of the alley way where a half dozen gunners stood with their backs to them, but still out numbering them two-to-one.
Now Rio had nothing to worry about.
