Well, I often get mistaken for a child even when I'm not in Lolita. I'm very short, which I think has something to do with it. Yesterday I was wearing a white shirt (we have uniforms. Elementary students wear red, middle schoolers wear green, and high schoolers wear blue. Anyone can wear white) and some freshman said to me, "Get out of my way, middle schooler." Yeah, I turn 18 in less than a month. I'm a good year older than most of the kids in my grade (don't ask me why. I'm a senior. I guess the age cut-off must have been different here)

A week or so ago I went to the hair dressers to help out for a workshop that they were doing to help improve the employee's skills and techniques. They were making small talk and asked me how old I was. When I said 18, suddenly the entire shop went silent....after a few seconds of akward stared and silence, I got a hesitant "...18?...you look a lot younger..." It was very supprising for me seeing as I get hit on by older men all the time, and most people think I am older...Oh well, I suppose lolita can do that to you, but I never figured that would happen, especially since I was wearing punk, not sweet or anything. lol^^'

I'm always mistaken for 12-15 years old. I've noticed it was usually jeans and a t-shirt that did it, especially at Friendly's. Its funny how casual Lolita clothes actually make me look a bit older, of course it helps when I add some make-up. Sometimes it really upsets me, because I'm small so that doesn't really help. I understand it will be great when I'm older, but it sucks now, you know? I used to wear decora, but I stopped because it really didn't help at all. You would think Lolita wouldn't either, but like I said it helps a little bit. I avoid wearing a Sweet style because it will make me look too young, but I do like it.

I'm almost always mistaken for a kid. I was offered a children's menu when I went with my mom for lunch on her birthday this year. I'm 23. xd

People these days are starting to look a lot younger than their age. My mom gets mistaken for a 30 yr old when she's a lot older than that, and I myself have been mistaken as 13 for some reason. I even mistook a senior as a lost elementary schooler! xd

I get mistaken for a child weather I'm wearing lolita or not lol. I'm going to be a senior in high school, but I still get asked if I need the children s menu. Mostly because I'm so short, but it might be because I'm just so adorable, lol (jk)!

I'm in my 20's and I get hit on by 15 and 16 year old boys and most people think I'm either 14 or 16. Sometimes I get the oh I thought you were 30 which can be flattering or rude depending on how they say it or mean it( at bars it's cool an the street....).

I went to a restaurant and they gave me a kids menu. I wasn't dressed in lolita at all....but it was when I was 20...the waitress was younger than me!
It's a funny story to tell now, but I was a bit embarrassed. I knew I looked young, but young enough for a kids' menu?

I understand how you feel. xD One time I was sitting in the shopping cart at wal-mart and I had my hair pulled back. (usually I look at least a year older with my hair down in a certain way.) and this guy pulls his wife over and points at me saying.
"Aww! Isn't she cute??" Like I was 8 or something ._." I'm 15. I think his wife noticed I wasn't the age he thought and quickly pulled him away, whispering to him as they did. xD so yeah, I don't find it to be a big deal, only sometimes when it prevents me from doing things. Like the time I almost got banned from a website because they didn't believe I was the minimum age of 13. Lol!

I went to MetroCon a week or so ago and while waiting for the shuttle to take us to the convention center and a lady took our photo and then asked how old we were. She thought I was 13 when I'm damn near 20. I just laughed it off and said it'd come in handy when I got older.

I'm mistaken for a child all the time. I'm 20 years old, but people tell me all the time that I look 13-16 years old. sweatdrop Thankfully I don't get the kids menu treatment anymore, but when I was in high school, I kept getting asked if I would like the kids menu. I guess it comes with being short and having a childlike face or something.
