Zulimar's tactics were different. She didn't mind the screaming. Liked hearing them dissolve into helpless whimpers as she tore open the deer's belly. Blood everywhere. The deer thrashed again, keening as she danced away from it. She reared back on her hooved, finally crashed then down on the neck. Let the deer bleed to death, unable to scream. Stared at the picture it presented, shaking.
A shame she wasn't hungry. He smelled delicious. She lowered her mouth to the body, lapping at the blood. She took a few bites, but the food she had craved was the screams.
She glanced over at the stallion, watching curiously. She felt so much better now, really. Her tail twitched, and she rested next to the carcass, a bit away so she could keep the blood off, and cleaned herself. Her hooves were a bit bloody, but she cleaned them carefully.

After filling his belly, Valar stood over the half eaten body. Scavangers would be by soon to finish it off. He didn't mind leaving behind what he didn't eat. Once he had his fill, he was done.
Flicking out his dark tongue, he lapped at the blood that had soaked into the hairs around his muzzle and nose. That tangy, metallic taste filling his mouth. Such a wonderful taste it was.
Once he was satisfied with his cleaning, he peered over at Zulimar. He knew she wasn't exactly hungry for flesh, mostly the hunt and the blood. That was fine. Scavangers would come for that one to. Valar glanced around the clearing, the herd of deer had already left what seemed like hours ago even though it was merely minutes. "Satisfied?" He raised an eyebrow as his gazed locked on the females figure again.

She nodded, pushing herself back onto her feet. "I am satisfied." she gave him a pleasant smile, eyes cool and relaxed again. She stretched out her legs, giving the carcass a fond glance. "Did you enjoy your hunt? I owe you a thank-you for my ease in catching that one... you ran them straight into me." She glanced over the stallion. If there was bloodshe hadn't cleaned, she couldn't tell.

"Good. Wouldn't be all that great if you weren't." Unfurling his wings, he gave them a good stretch along with a few flaps before folding them up again. "Very much so. I always enjoy them. No thanks necessary. Hunting down prey shouldn't be compromised by others if you are hunting with them." His tail lashed back and forth as he came down from the thrill. Eyes glancing around the clearing again as his mind wondered what would be next.

What would be next? She stretched, tail lashing. There were many things she could ask him... yet she wouldn't even know where to start. Her tail flicked, and she nodded her head to him. "I've never hunted with another before. It's an interesting experience."

His ears perked as her voice cut through the silence. The birds had gone deathly silent after the static in the air from the hunt seemed to have sent them flying. Turning his head, he smiled ever so slightly. "Well, now you can say you have. So what now, Zulimar? Now that you've quenched your thirst."

She shook her head. Cast him a toothy, nearly mischevious grin. "Care to show me around the mountain? Tell me which dangers I need to avoid." She wouldn't play coy, but the high from the hunt was still there, sending her head abuzz, and making her much more lighthearted than she needed to be.

"I suppose I could show the pretty lady around." Valar smirked while giving a small, breathy chuckle that rumbled low in his chest. Snapping his head side to side, several joints in his neck popped before he let out a long breath.
Where to start first? Hmmm. Flying would get them around faster, but take away from the detail of it all. Well, suppose he'd just wander. Picking no real direction, he started walking. Heading away from the river they had come from.

She gave a low laugh. Couldn't help it. "And I'll endeavor not to get us into any unfortunate circumstances, if it helps." her eyes were wicked. "So, what exactly does hide in the mountains?" She'd never been in them before. She followed him, attentive. Her steps were silent, and her tail swished behind her.
Pretty lady. How amusing. She almost laughed again. It took an interesting sort of stallion to watch a mare dance around her prey like a fool, and still be able to call her pretty.

"Don't worry about it. A little excitement never hurt anyone." His steps where fluid as he made his way onto a little less beaten path. The muscles under his skin rolled with each step.
He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. "Nothing for you to worry about. Mostly mountain dwelling creatures. An occasional lessor here or there. Unless you're afraid of big, black stallions who breath fire?" Valar's eyes roamed towards the looming mountains not too far away. His home. It felt like he hadn't been there in a long time, but it was merely a few hours since he had left.

She snorted. "Absolutely terrified. I don't know how I dare take another step forward." She moved after him. "Except for no lack of curiosity, and a firm belief that I am in no way a cat." Mountain dwelling creatures, and Others. The Others could go flying down the edge of the mountain, thank you, and the little creatures would stay hidden away... at least, she figured they would.

"Don't worry. I doubt he's hungry for terrified little Kalona's anyway." His eyes narrowed a bit as he searched up ahead of the path carefully. It seemed this one would be taking them past the graveyards. That was a place that some Kalona seemed to lurk, although he wasn't quite sure how rambunctious they would be at this time.
Valar gave a small chuckle to her comment. Wasn't very long ago that he had that same sort of thought before meeting her. It wasn't something that was too out of the blue and unknown to pop up. But it had amused him that she used that example.

She gave a small snort of amusement, following after the stallion. "I'd be more than a mouthful for anything that tried to bite me." she was firm on that point, and likely quite correct. As for his chuckling... she seemed to have him doing that an awful lot. She eyed him, but shrugged her shoulders. It didn't matter.

Giving an almost wicked grin, he eyed Zulimar curiously for a second. "I'm sure he'd probably just drag your body and bury it into one of his hiding spots for later. But enough about that. The first stop on our little...traps around the lands."
The stallion came to a complete stop, turning his body at a slight angle as he peered into the thick fog that had started to reach out to them like long, grey tendrils. "The Kawani burial grounds."

She gave him a bland look. "I'm sure he'd have a hard time dragging anyone with my hooves in his teeth." She pulled up next to him, looking into the fog. Burial grounds, eh? She moved closer, intrigued. "And the two-legged things bury their kind here?" she peered into the fog, trying to make out anything.
