Kigu waited to see Kaiki begin to roll safely before he jumped after her, but he was not far behind. When the little girls head emerged from the leaves and such he giggled at her remark. Then walked up behind her and licked her shoulder. "Your legs are pretty wobbly, how about we take a quick break and then we can go get something to drink. I am pretty thirsty myself." He said with a nod before he bent over to gently lick out some of the leaves and twigs stuck in Kaiki's fur.

Kaiki nodded, face once again aflame in silver blush. "Thanks," she mumbled once her fur was clean again, face so silver she could barely look Kigu in the eyes. She willed the blush away mostly after a few moments, and asked quietly, "So.... um.... where can we get water? A river or something?"

Kigu smiled at Kaiki's blush and stuck his nose into the air scenting it for near bye water. He turned his head towards a small trail leading through the woods. Then he lay down and said, "I'll go slower this time. So would you like another ride? I can smell the water near by." He smiled his goofy lopsided smile and look inquisitively at Kaiki.

Stabilizing herself on Kigu's back was easier this time around as Kaiki climbed on. She lifted her nose to the air as he had done and blinked in surprise. "Is that the smell of water? I never knew water had a scent ..... I was around it so often......." she trailed off in thought.

Kigu thought for a moment before replying, "Water doesn't have a scent itself. The smell I was looking for was that of algae, fish, or the usual bugs that I like that live around the water." He began to pad smoothly towards the smell.

Nodding, Kaiki muttered under her breath, "Not water - algae, fish, bugs." Somehow, it seemed to Kaiki that she remembered best if she repeated things. Looking down at Kigu's feet, Kaiki suddenly noticed a tiny lady bug. Quickly, much faster than she would have thought herself capable of, she swooped the lady bug out of harm's way and into the air with her tail. "Fly away lady bug, fly away," she whispered as it did just that.

Kigu smiled, taking very good care as not to jostle his charge. He thought she was quite a cute little thing. He felt her tail brush his paws and turned his head slightly just in time to see a lady bug flying away. That would of have made a good meal, but I guess she doesn't know yet that I only eat bugs. He some what snorted and almost laughed at the face his other friends had made when he had told them. He scented the air again, and noticed the scent of water was getting stronger. He finally noticed that the trees were thinning, and soon breached the undergrowth to come upon a rather quaint little creek. He heard ducks not far off, an wondered what Kaiki liked to eat.

Kaiki watched as the trees thinned and the creek came into view. "This water moves, not like my pond," she observed quietly, for creeks flow whereas ponds do not. Thinking for a second or two, she asked, "Kigu? You said earlier that you smelled the scent of algae, fish, and bugs that you like. What did you mean by 'like'? As in, the way they look? Or do you like chasing them? Do you eat bugs, Kigu?" Full of questions, she lowered herself off of his back as she prattled on.

Kigu looked at Kaiki and smiled, "Do you like it more when it is still?" Then he listened to her continue and almost froze in his place. "Well, bugs are pretty in their own way. Chasing the flying ones is interesting... but yes Kaiki... I eat bugs. I never had a taste for meat, but I eat it when I am really hungry and can't find enough bugs. Is... is that ok?" Kigu asked and shrunk back a little hoping she wouldn't turn him down.

Kaiki shook her head, "It's not that.... I am just more used to water that doesn't move so much." Thinking for a few moments as Kigu spoke about bugs, Kaiki cocked her head to the side in confusion. "Okay? Huh? Why would it not be okay? You could eat rocks for all it matters to me," she told him warmly, a light silver blush across her cheeks.

Kigu smiled a little when he noticed that Kaiki was one of the few who wouldn't judge him for what he ate and he put on a rather large lop-sided smile and said, "Rocks? Well as I matter of fact I tried them once. And they really come down hard on the stomach..." He said with a wink a bit proud of his pun.

Giggling at both his expression and the pun, Kaiki, in a move of extreme boldness on her part, leaned in lightning quick and placed a peck of a kiss on Kigu's cheek. "You're so silly," she muttered with a vivid blush as she turned away to look at the stream.

Kigu smiled when she laughed at his joke, but was caught completely off guard by her sudden show of affection. In fact he went weak at the knees and simply fell over. Then he murmured to himself, "I am silly..." And he smiled.

Gazing into the waters of the slow-moving creek, Kaiki fought to dissipate her blush. Thoughts whirring and blurring around her head, she gave herself a stern talking to in her mind. What the heck were you thinking, girl?!

Kigu got up silently while Kaiki was in deep thought. He snuck up on her and tried to very quietly and softly peck her on her cheek back. Then he lay down next to her and looked into the water as well.
((Oh Ami... just so you know... even though Kaiki pic "says" she is a pup she is basically growing and when her teen stage is posted in the thread the means she has fully become a teen... just thought that would be an interesting thing to know if you didn't know yet... 4laugh ))
