The Pizza Guy
I was recently reading that new Metallica book, and in the back it said Mustaine had gotten a rare arm difunction and couldn't play.He recovered, right?

Haha, that was a little while ago. After the 'The World Needs a hero' tour, Dave apparently slept on his arm weird and got something they call 'saturday night palsy' (or some crap like that, anyway). Pretty much screwed up all the nerves in his hand and was supposed to have left him incapacitated and unable to play guitar. Fortunately, he managed a recovery, an released 'The System has Failed' AFTER he had recovered from the injury.

Okay, a litle food for thought...Dave's solo career?

Considering Mustaine announced that TSHF will be the last ever Megadeth album, and that he will start work on his solo career after he's finished touring, what are your feelings for the future? I've been wondering what kind of material he'll be releasing once he's finished and done with the Megadeth name. I'm personally wondering how having nothing to live up to will affect his song writing, since it's kinda like having a fresh start.
What do you think the first 'Dave Mustaine' album will be like? 3nodding

Are we talking MD45 or Dave?

Nope, MD45 was a side project. The new project will be Dave's main focus after Megadeth, and thus far hasn't really been given a title beyond 'Dave Mustaine'. wink

The perceptive among you may have seen this, it appeared about the time TSHF was announced... 3nodding

Thank God there will be no more Megadeth albums. Dave has nearly ruined the name of Megadeth as it is and that's saying a lot considering the amount of great albums he made back in the day.

Anyway, I guess when he finally does go solo I'll check it out, though I don't have any high hopes.

Indeed, Megadeth is far from what it used to be...
The Creator is unpleased with this situation.
We want a decent album NOW!

Same with Priest.

I listened to some live Priest, then some live Fight and the latter sucked.

TSHF had 2 good songs as far as I'm concerned, 'Blackmail the Universe' I liked and 'Kick the Chair' was pretty decent too. Apart from that, I really couldn't care for it too much. Thats pretty much been the story with all Dave's post RIP albums (Countdown was okay too), several good songs nestled amongst a whole bunch of mediocre tracks. There might even be enough material for a good album if one chose selectively of his post thrash releases.

I hope Dave can turn it around with his solo career. I'm an optimist, so I'm expecting Peace Sells 2 xd

The thing is, megadeth isnt megadeth anymore. All the other members who made the band what they are are gone. Sure, Dave was the Heart and Soul of the band, but wheres Dave Ellfson!? And Nick Menza? And Marty Friedman? Hell, i dont even know who recorded TSHF besides Poland. And even Poland isnt sticking with band, not to mention he only did a few solos on TSHF. So in my oppinion, megadeth doesnt exist anymore anyway. TSHF was Mustaines first solo album.

And for those who dont know, he actually wanted to release it as a solo album, but the Reccord Label wouldnt allow him.

Aheh, yeah, you are actually correct on this point. However, I do remember Dave saying that TSHF was made of of old Megadeth material that was never released or just existed as ideas. I dunno, is it hoping for too much for him to get off his a** and write something new and halfway decent? I just hope he's got the rest of that out of his system. stressed

Well when compared to the latest of other "modern metal" bands TSHF is #1 in my book. As far as Daves solo career ive got high hopes. We all know that he has the skill, and talent to make another Rust In Peace, Or Peace Sells... It is all just a matter of whether or not he uses it. I say we should all just keep our fingers crossed and hope Dave digs deep and maybe produces something with that good old fashioned Thrash/Speed Metal sound that was lacking in his latest stuff.

Well, it depends. If his solo stuff is like Blackmail and Kick the Chair, I won't be disappointed, because I liked those 2 songs. But if it's more radio metal like Dide Dead Enough, I'll be extremely disappointed. Lets hope he takes the best elements of TSHF.
