*sighs* Jae Sung, buddy, we're talking about non firing arms here. We already know the effeciency of guns. Since you feel compelled to bring it up however, let's discuss guns for a moment. Are they really good for people? I mean sure, they pack a wallop, but do they really help at all? A lot more people are empowrered by a gun, there's no real training (You can get better at aiming, but it not like a pole where practice is extremely crucial) is required to bring out it's efficiency. At the most I'd imagine,(though I do not proclaim to be an expert on guns) a month would be required to get someone decent with a gun, whereas mastery of its non automated counterpart would take much longer.

More like a day to get decent with a gun, simply lock and load baby and pow that b***h is dead XD, GTA GTA GTA!!! XD XD XD

Right, so what about tonfa? I think someone mentioned them before, does anyone know anything about their variations? I know Karate has one kind, but I've seen others.

Martial J Or, ditch both and wreak havoc with an Odachi! Yes, the Odachi is like the H3 of katana family. I've heard of a sword even larger than the odachi called a "yotozuna" and tha they're very scarce now; in fact the word is only used as a name for some sumo wrestlers. I'm not fully beleiving it, but if anyone has some info on a bigger blade than the odachi, let's hear about it! Also, speaking of katana, I forgot the Japanese term for a double sided sword. I think I'd like a double sided Odachi someday... Odachi is japanese for Major curved sword (battle sword). Tachi is the proper name for a katana. Your Odachi is your main weapon or regular sword. smallest to biggest- Tanto(small blade) Wakasashi(Side short sword) Zashi (short sword) Kodachi (Minor battle sword) Odachi (Major battle sword) Daito (great blade) Nodachi (Horse sword) Daidachi (Great battle sword) Zanbato (Man's height blade) last one is that 4 foot sword 4 foot handle double bladed crap from rurouni kenshin was made to dehorse riders or to kill horses but weighing in at near 80lbs and generally poor quality they were very very rare on the battle feild or in the tactics of japanese warfare. Yes it did exist. Quick edit: Zashi or sashi typically were straight swords no longer than your arm to is blade Tachi or dachi is battlement sword

hmm, so whenever guys talki about an Odachi refering to a Nodachi or longer blade they're wrong? Ha, that's pretty funny. Nice clarrification, I know I was saying the wrong words. So, have you heard of a Kotte? I saw it in a book once, and it looked like a Japanese version of a scimitar.

I've always preferred an odachi, knives, and I've come to enjoy un-armed strikes and throws; but my school is battle-field originated. For me, there is nothing like a naginata; a six foot jo with a fat sword blade at the top and crushing metal cap on the bottom.

[quote="Jae Sung'] I know. Just thought i'd bring it up. Like my instructor said, "Man with a gun: automatic 200th degree black belt. You can't block bullets with your arms." True, unless he has a very bad case of Diplopia. Then he can't aim for s**t. razz
