There's nothing wrong with being a tomboy or playing videogames.
The fact of the matter is that people don't like it when there's something different. People think of Girls as nothing but boy, makeup and shopping obsessed, who like nothing but to gossip with their girlfriends or hand out with their boyfriends.
Personally, I prefer the idea of girls breaking away from that stereotype. For me it's rare to find a girl that does care for anything besides her cell phone and fashion. I mean, just because you enjoy sports or do something other than what a "normal" girl is supposed to do, does not make you a tomboy.
I play videogames because it's fun and I like it; it does not make me less of a girl. What so I like Final Fantasy, does that mean I have half a v****a now? I mean, final fantasy has romance in it, what girl doesn't like that?
I was insulted once. They told me that it was unlike a girl to play videogames. So what is a girl, someone who just sits around all day talking about what another person did on thier cell phone?
I'd rather be different and proud of it, than to go for the stereotype that puts all girls down, including the girls that are the sterotype themselves.
I really don't care if I get insulted because I play videogames. In the end, I think I'm more of a girl for keeping an open mind, and trying out new things instead of the status quo. Let them talk, since they have nothing better to do and they find me so entertaining and interesting. XD

The problem is that people are afraid of straying from the hand that feeds them, or in this case, afriad of running into preditors should they leave the pack. Some girls do what they like in secret for fear of riducule by those with closed minds. Why is it when a girl is born makeup and boys come to mind? Why is it when a boy is born, sports come to mind? I mean, what's wrong with considering all possiblities? Better to have rainbow colored sheep then one black sheep among many whites. so we want to be a little different, big deal!

Strangely enough, I've got a sister in middle school who embodies the typical "girly girl" stereotype (you all know what I mean), and she now wants a pink DS Lite to match her purse and Pokemon because I've convinced her Pokemon's coming back in fashion. xp

There's two types of reactions I get when walking into gaming or comic stores: surprised or amused. The surprised is when I go shopping near (relative term, seeing how it's two hours away) where I live. They're surprised because, of course, they get rednecks, jocks guys coming in looking for Halo or another FPS. Amused is when I'm in Maine (I vacation there and it's like a gaming mecca for me, I can always find what I want there and there is always a plethora of comic/gaming shops). They're amused because they probably don't get a lot of girls. They're not as close-minded (or perhaps sheltered?). For instance, I've actually SEEN girls in the stores! One of them was working there.
I always try and balance out what I buy or ask about. I've been hunting for Eternal Darkness for Gamecube (I'm not really behind the times, it travelled and I nearly lost it, but DID lose ED and the Matrix game). I don't want to JUST ask for things like Cooking Mama, but I'm not too interested in a lot of FPS. A lot of my favourite games are so old, haha. Well, they're not retro but they're from '95. It's a little self-concious, but I don't want to promote the 'Girls only play wussy games'.
Falafel25 - Pokemon is DEFINITELY coming back in fashion... Totally... Definitely... *cries* (I'm surprised by how many guys are into it actually, especially college guys. I found a little hovel of them and they're weren't smelly or creepy, they were really normal-looking).

I never bought an Advance, which is why. I never liked Advance. I'm missing this big chunk of PokeKnowledge. I'm starting to get back into it though. I've been stalling but I'll buy Diamond one of these days.

let me guess she's a girlie girl who started bitching about you behind your back. Don't re-act!!! When she's not looking pull and prank or p*ss her off by playing a game with her crush or boyfriend and totally act like your into him and flirt or try to make him lose at the game like trying to get hold of the controller and pressing any buttom, it will shut her up and p*ss her off xD
