GOD is supernatural! All His miracles...

...Actaully, the ten plagues of Egypt were scientifically proven to be a chain reaction from a natural gas leak in to the Nile River. The exact same ten plagues were relatively recently recorded again in Africa (but not Egypt).

Clarifying all that....it is my belief that since God made the universe and the laws of the universe that man has discivered (gravity), God Himslef would operate within the confines of the rules He set for the universe, lest He contradict Himself and no longer be a perfect being.

well just because it can be explained doesnt mean that some sort of god didnt make it happen

I just meant that God would operate within the limits of the laws and rules of the universe because He made them and He knows them well enough to use them in a miraculous manner.

im pagan, nothing specific since there really isnt anything out there that i entirely believe in, but i guess im closer to being pagan than anything else. i could babble all day and still suck at explaining it. but i guess a mix of pagan and christianity. blame my parents for teaching me a bit of everything at a young age sweatdrop

Why does God necessarily have to abide by rules he himself has created? Why would he be "contradicting" himself if he didn't?

He doesn't have to, but He does sometimes. Why? Because He can. wink

And how does a gas leak cause an eclipse that lasted three days?

For this guy's argument to be logically valid, he'd need to explain why God would operate within his own rules, is what I'm saying.

I doubt the gas leak would have caused the eclipse, but something more reasonable, like some variety of sunlight-obscuring cloud or something similar.

I know what you're saying. God would operate within His own rules because He wants too.

And I don't think a simple cloud could obscure the sun and moon for three days.

I'm a Christian and I still believe in God, but I also love the supernatural anyways. I just enjoy the fact that their could be these imaginary beings among us and that they could be the cause of our existence. It's also fun to make fun and accuse your friends of being a vampire, zombie, ghoul, phantom, etc.

A lot of it is cultural in my opinion. In today's society if you believe in the supernatural you are deemed to a be a loony and treated as such. So even a lot of people who believe in ghosts won't mention it unless to very close family.

My mother considers herself a christian but she believes in ghost and admits it because most of the family believes in ghosts. She also believe in psychic ability. Hell, she has even asked me for a spell once. I refused to do it because I believed it would be more harmful for her than letting things run their course, but she did ask.

My father on the other hand is part of a church that doesn't believe anything that is not in the Bible. I am not sure they even do believe in God or angels but just say they do because that is expected of them.

Hell, I never tell most people that I believe in fairies because I'd look like a loony. But that doesn't mean that I don't believe in them, I just aint about to tell any one who'll call the men in white coats. I have always said that the difference between a psychic and a psycho is a psychic knows when to shut the hell up.

Seeing angels in today's society is OK, even seen as a good thing. Seeing aliens, ghosts, or fairies is a bad thing. At best you'll get ridiculed by family and friends. At worst locked up. So anything supernatural has to be a angel of light from Venus reflecting in swamp gas.

If you believe in the Bible you have to believe in the existence of ghosts and spirits. The Witch of Endor is my evidence.

And no one is going to lock you up unless you're deemed a danger to yourself or others.
