Well.....because you're in America, which is a really big country, so its unlikely you'll meet any Irish tourists or people who moved there? Statistically it would be unusual to meet loads, unless you live in a big tourist spot like Washington or something......so if you do, then its weird, yeah.
I know two Americans, myself. Apart from people I meet on the web. mrgreen
