He clung to his new friend's hand, allowing himself to be pulled up. "Thanks. We should hold hands when we walk down." Hyacinthus liked having someone whose hand he could hold wherever he went. "I shouldn't have runned down the stairs. I'll have to remember not to do that next time...."

(( Sorry about the huge delay in replying. x.x;; Texas decided it was time to walk out of my head for a little while. You know the drill. ^^;;; You can't reply for a good thirteen days, but I'll reply anyway. ))

"Alright." Texas waited for Hyacinthus to gain his bearings before starting down the stairs. "That's okay! You're safe with me around!" Okay, so he just had to be heroic when Hyacinthus remarked that he shouldn't run down the stairs. After all, Texas had saved him from an almost disastrous fall. He had rights to act heroic, right?

(There's actually a good chance that I'll be able to reply at least once while I'm gone, though probably not much more. If I wake up early enough at some point or have some downtime after writing a journal entry, I can do it^^

They're so cute together. They remind me of some of the kids I've worked with <3)

(( Heh. ^^ Glad they make you happy. See, I knew they had to meet. ;D And don't push to get a reply in if you're downright tired. I understand. heart ))

He hung onto his new friend's hand with his other hand on the railing. He liked that he could trust Texas to help him if he ever needed it. The rest of the way, he stepped more carefully so neither of them would trip. He smiled at his new friend because he was happy to have someone else around.

They finally got to the door of the basement. "Do you know about what's behind the door?" He'd better not open the door without considering what might be there.

Texas shrugged as casually as a little boy could. "If I knew, I woulda' told you!" With a childish giggle, he reached for the door knob. "I heard it was nothing bad, though! I also heard sister say there was a lot of stuff down here, but I don't ever trust anything she says." Perhaps he should test her theory, though. They had made it all the way down here, so this was no time to chicken out and not go in the room. It would provide fun away from the rain.

"Want me to open it?"

(Since the room just becomes whatever someone wants it to be, I'm gonna make up what's behind the door.)

"Uh huh." He kept behind his friend as he was less brave.

When the opened the door, they'd find a colorful playroom painted with rich murals of forests of landscapes around Telrunya. The paintings were so detailed that they seemed real if Hyacinthus squinted his eyes. Green mats covered the floor underneath large climbing sets made from gnarled trees. Every toy they could imagine spilled out of boxes stuffed too full. In neat piles around the room were clean new clothes both for dolls and for little boys like them. If that weren't enough, there was a water fountain just their height labeled "CHOCOLATE MILK" in bold, friendly letters. It was just what Hyacinthus had always wanted in a playroom.

(Don't hesitate to add more. I'd expect the room to have components of what Texas likes too.)

Texas sniffed the air. Was that what he thought it was? The little boy moved towards the smell, and indeed, he was in luck! There was a grill, with hot dogs, hamburgers, and sausage patties already nice and crisp. "Do you smell that?" He asked, turning back to Hyacinthus excitedly. The barbecue-loving boy then jogged right back over to his new best friend. "We can eat, have chocolate milk, and play with all of these toys!"

This room was a dream! ...Of course, it did not prove his annoying older sister right. Texas refused to ever believe that.

When Texas Pete mentioned food, the little fae boy heard his tummy growl. He hadn't eaten very much that day. The food smelled delicious even though he had never smelled anything quite like it before. He didn't mind trying new things, though. He had a feeling that it would taste even better than it smelled. Now no longer fearful, he took her new friend's hand and hurried to the grill. "This is hot, so we gotta be careful."

The fact that Hyacinthus was cautious balanced out the fact that Texas was more daring and would have probably snatched the hot food right off the grill. He nodded. "Right, gotta' be careful..." Luckily, there was an oven mitt nearby. What luck! Texas put the rather large glove on his hand before reaching for some of the food. He set the food on a plate which was also conveniently nearby. "There!," exclaimed the little boy, once the task was complete.
