Akari-Jaganashi I was in guitar class at School and i looked at the way I was holding my classical guitar... i was holding it like a bass and relized im not a guitar person... IM A BASS PERSON! I'm sorry, this might be a dumb question, but.....how do you hold a guitar like a bass, but not like a guitar?

My friend Andy... He was teaching me what slapping was since I didn't know what it was at the time and I saw him play, and it was like "Oh my god, this is what I was born to do, play Bass!" lol... but yes, he is a very amazing bassist that you just have to see to understand how powerful his playing is

i wanted to play something differant to everyone else because everyone always goes for the electric guitar, so i thought that i'd have a go at playing bass and now i love it heart

um, a girl at my school that was in band got me hooked on the bass. i was totally crazy about it, at that time i played guitar and really poorly. we figured i was a better bass player by how quickly i picked up rhythems and how i memorized each one. so i switched.

i started playing guitar, but once i found out what a bass was, and the first time i ever say someone playing a bass, i loved it ever since.
everything about it, the low deep tone, the possibilities with it.
you can pick, pluck, slap or do what ever you want.
and then i really started to notice bassists in bands and that only helped my love for the bass.

It all started way back in August when I met my current boyfriend. At the time I had a huge thing for drummers, playing drums and guitar myself for many years. It sort of dawned on me that bassists never seem to get recognised in bands and that it is actually a realyl cool instrument, so I had a go one day when we went down to the music store, saved for a while and bought myself my bass. Now I play all the time and I'm not planning on looking back on what I'm doing at all! xd

Me and some friends wanted to start a band and I wanted to play a power full insterment, the band never was put together but I love my bass. heart

I had a guitar....but after mommy and daddy broke up, I went into my room to found that dearest beloved daddy had stolen my normal guitar....years passed...my cousin has a bass lying around...so I messed with it. That was about 7 months ago...a month or two passed and I got it....I love the power that you hold. It felt nice....play a song right and it makes your body vibrate and your spirit go wild. Physicality and mentality, really....and out of plain spite for my dad stealing my guitar.....Meh.

I just wanted to. I loved bass lines, and I wanted to be a little different from all my guitar playing friends. I started it, and oved it.

I heard of a little group called Primus. Went and saw them live. And I picked up the bass after seeing LesClaypool playing " Tommy the Cat "...

I got to play a bass at a friends house. It was his brother's bass, but I played it and right then I knew it was my instrument. I even got the same model, but in black instead of red. I got it the next Christmas and I've been playing since.

Well... my friend wanted to start a band so she bullied me into it xp
Na, she was playing electric & suggested I play bass, and once I started listening to bass in a lot of music & I really grew to love it heart
