The pikachu eyed the chocolate warily, before shrugging in a manner uncannily close to that of a human. It licked the chocolate from Diana's hand, folding its ears back and making an affectionate 'kaaa' sound once it was done.

It stared up at Diana's face, as though evaluating her, before suddenly springing up, scrambling up her arm and licking a glob of ice cream from her cheek.

"Piika pika pikachu piiiika kaaa chu"

It perched on her shoulder wearing a smug grin and stared directly at the door, as though is had just made fun of the retreating guard.

With the odd pikachu perched on her shoulder, Diana stood and glanced over at Kira. The lounge was in shambles and food was covering both of them from head to toe; the only clean one was the pokemon staring at them both from his perch.

"C'mon Kira, we should get outta here too. If we're lucky, no one will notice if we stay casual while we walk out of here."

Spinning around, she fast-walked over to a cabinet and grabbed two towels from within; soaking them both with water from a nearby sink, she tossed one to her friend while quickly wiping all the food and soda that she could from herself without undressing. Finishing her task, Diana glanced at the pikachu on her shoulder, "Hey, all of us have to get out of here......that is, unless you know of a way to get us back to our rooms without getting caught?" Reaching up, she gave the pokemon a good scratch on the head and behind the ears.

Kira whipped herself down with a towel and looked to the Pikachu cautiously, then grinned. "You're right, he is cute."

Her focus now returned to the problem at hand. "Diana, they know that someone was in here.... let me stay, I can find my way out of this. Besides, I need to keep Hayden out of trouble, I'd hate for him to loose his job, he's the only staff that I've gotten to know and that I like in the day that I've been here." She smiled cheerfully and confidently.

He was some distance off when the young guard came belting around the hallway. Hayden looked- well- a little peaked. As usual. The difference was the food stains that were somewhat hastily swabbed at all over his uniform. He looked positively sloppy.

Phil knew why, but he put on his impassive, almost bored face. "Why hello."

He looked past Hayden around the corner of the hallway, tightening his grip on the giant mop he was carrying ever so slightly. "I left one of my trolleys back there. I hope whatever happened to you is under control, kid."

"Pi!" The lanky pikachu tilted its head back and grinned. "Kaaaaaaaa..."

It let Diana scratch for a little while before its ears snapped up and twitched left and right, like two little yellow periscopes. Without warning, it leapt off her shoulder and bounded to the door, crouched low to the ground and listening intently. Then, just as suddenly, it somehow skittered under the narrow floor clearance of one of the lounge's recently soiled couches. A faint glimmer of two eyes peered out from the darkness, visible only to those who were looking carefully.

Watching the movements of Blaze (what Diana decided to called the little pikachu), she gave Kiras' statement some thoughts before turning towards an unopened closet nearby.
"Yeah...yeah, I agree Kira. We should help Hayden out! There may be something in here......."
Pulling the door open, Diana came across (ironiclly enough) the janitors' stash of cleaning supplies. Grinning at the idea, Diana turned towards Kira and tossed her some stain-remover and a few rags.
"I hope you know how to use that stuff.......cause we got some cleaning up to do!"

Kira frowned, seeing the Pikachu's reaction. "Diana... Something's wrong...." Her eyes widened as two and two equaled four. "Diana, get out of here quickly." She started pushing her new friend to the door. "Someone's got to be coming, it's bad enough that one of us will get in trouble, but it'll be worse if it's both of us. I'll do my best to clean up as much as possible."

...s**t. Too slow.

Tensing visibly, Hayden took a deep breath to try and calm himself before facing the other man. "Hello, Phil. Lovely day, isn't it?" One could practically SEE the sarcasm dripping from the statement.

The young guard's eyes darted to the mop in the janitor's hands and he tensed again. Why did he get such a bad feeling about this meeting? No matter what he said now, he was screwed...that much was definite. He couldn't deny participation in the chaos in his current state, and admitting to as much wasn't a better choice at this point...

"Look...what do you want? Out with it, okay? I don't have time for this right now." He looked and sounded tired, but there was a slight undercurrent of irritation in his voice.

Phil shrugged easily. "Oh nothing really." Then without warning, he bopped the young guard on the head with the handle of his broom. "You little... What the hell?" Phil's mood had clearly turned sour. "I was just about to clock off, and now I've got this mess to clean up?? What were you doing with those two girls in there?" He spun and put his hand to his forehead, sounding very grouchy and very tired. "You were in a FOOD FIGHT? Do you know what could happen to you if you're caught?!" Phil turned to face Hayden again. "And you have NO idea how tempted I am to report this one."

Normally, Hayden wouldn't have dared stand up to the older man, but he'd had a long day and he wasn't exactly in the best mood. Sure, Phil was 'only' the janitor...but he knew there was something more about this guy beneath the surface...something he really didn't want to mess with.

At least, not on a normal basis.

"OW! Dammit, what was that for?" he snapped, rubbing his head painfully with a grimace. "And what do you mean, 'what was I doing in there with those girls?' What exactly are you insinuating?" he questioned, eyes narrowed. "You can't possibly think I had anything to do with starting that damned food fight! I was just unlucky enough to walk into the middle of the thing!"

Breathing heavily, the young guard finally fell silent, his flaring temper slowly extinguished by his sudden outburst. He wasn't ready to cower before the other man, however. He wasn't about to sink that low today.

"Look," he sighed tiredly, shaking his head with his hand over his eyes. "I'll admit, I didn't exactly help the situation either. I should have stopped it sooner." He glanced up, not expecting mercy from the sour man, but hoping for it nonetheless. "If I help clean up, can we call it even?"

The janitor rubbed his temples. "Fine, fine. But you'll just be trailing food stains with your clothes that filthy. We'll head back to your quarters, get yourself a fresh uniform, clean this up and forget it ever happened." Phil continued before the guard could respond. "No really, I won't hold this one over your head.... but just this once."

He swung his massive mop over his shoulder and considered walking on and busting the two young ladies in the lounge anyway, but decided that for now they'd be free to run off and escape trouble. It'd build their confidence, not that they really needed any more of it.

Hayden sighed, seeming tired, but only trying to cover his obvious relief. 'One more bullet dodged...how many more can I be lucky enough to escape?' he wondered idlly. "Alright, alright...deal. It's only fair," he agreed, thinking he'd actually gotten off quite easily.

In fact...a little too easily. He started down the hall, heading for his room to change, a serious, contemplative look on his face as soon as he turned away from Phil. Why had he let him off so easily? Sure, it wouldn't gain him anything in this place to turn Hayden in...but there was plenty of other things he could have gotten in return for NOT turning him in. And all he was asking was to clean the room? Something was wrong here...no one was that nice at CRONUS...

Phil trailed behind Hayden, his hand twitching close to the pocket where he kept his cigarettes.

No, not indoors.

And not now.

He flicked his sleeve back and checked his watch. "Just ten minutes until my shift is up today, let's move it kid."
The hallways near the guard's quarters weren't great, but they were better than half the complex. Amber linoleum coated the floors and the walls were at least painted. Phil could even hear a stereo playing. Finally, they arrived at a door with a few scratches on the front- Hayden's room.

"Alright, alright, we're hurrying! Geez...I'm already doing your job for you," Hayden muttered under his breath, fumbling with the door for a moment before heading inside. "Make yourself at home," he quipped dryly, heading straight to a small dresser and pulling out a spare uniform. "It's just built for entertaining guests. Now, just gimme' a second," he muttered, heading into the small, attached bathroom to change and wash up a bit. Talk about impatient...

Phil watched the bathroom door close, then waited for the shower to start up. At that instant, the grumpy scowl on his face disappeared and he quickly strode to the main door and shut it. He was in a guard's room- Phil couldn't believe Hayden could be so trusting. The janitor looked over Hayden's room, noting that the terminal was off- as it should have been, but still...

Dammit.

He checked his watch- 4:55pm. Perfect timing, but no dice just yet. No room to be an idiot, and no time to be a genius. This opportunity had practically landed on his lap, though, and he would NOT waste it. He glanced at the corner of the room, noting an ethernet cable that ran down inconspicuously along the wall to the back of Hayden's terminal. That would be where the guards got their rostering and duty information from. He traced the cable back to where it disappeared behind Hayden's desk.

Phil reached over to Hayden's bed where a few discarded personal items lay. He grabbed up Hayden's outdoors jacket and threw it on over his janitor's shirt, then for good measure plopped Hayden's cap on (which the young guard never used). He then took a deep breath and then walked purposefully out into the hallway, slouched and head down. Just three doors down was the large, metal weapons locker. This was no armory- just batons, tasers, and strange combinations of the two. Phil quickly produced a key not even the janitor was supposed to have and unlocked the weapons locker. If enough people owe you favors, you can get anything you want.

He grabbed one high-power Baton Taser, shut the weapons locker and fired it up, holding it in the on position, and was rewarded with the sound of whoever's stereo was playing dissolving into static. Phil quickly ducked back into Hayden's room, the Taser still running, and shut the door behind him again. He bent down low and disconnected the ethernet cable from the wall socket, then carefully traced the Taser's arcing blue energy over the cable. It blackened and crackled, ruined, then for good measure he rubbed it against the corner of Hayden's desk, fraying it, and finally pulled chunks of the plastic lining off before plugging the cable back in.

With that, he switched off the Taser. The stereo in one of the other rooms began playing music again. Phil heard the guards talking; One was relieved the music came back on, the other complained about the Island's selection of broadcast radio. He smirked a sinister smirk to himself and waited for Hayden to come out.
