Skip smiled as he put on the bangle. That gave him three summons already. Pretty cool! In fact... as he listened, he could swear he heard... snoring? Hm... Luna seemed to be a little louder than the other seamonkey voices. Oh well. He was sure he'd get used to it.

Now... what to do with that plasma? Vixen hadn't seemed to have done anything with hers, but Emerald seemed to be able attach hers to her arm rather well. Realizing that he was fine with conformity, Skip did the same as Emerald, and attached it to his left forearm.

Afterward, he looked at the others. "Um... are we ready...?"

((Team 2))

Finally...they made it inside. Man, it was rather dark in there...Brian groped around for a lightswitch, but came up short.

"Guys, where's the-"

Hello.

"WAHH! WHO THE ******** WAS THAT!!?" Brian snapped, jumping in fear.

Welcome to F.A.T.E., the First Active Tactics Excercise program, where we train wonderful students like you to be the future of Subania...and Lonar. To begin, we will scan your biosystems. Is that okay? To indicate yes, say..."yes". To indicate no, say..."no".

The woman's voice was...well, creepy. She sounded prerecorded....like those voices for answering machines or as narration for Maybelline commercials...God, she was creepy. Almost...cold. With a hint of a British accent...whoever she was, she was too neutral to be considered friend or foe...yet.

Kali jumped staring around the darkness. "Oookay, this is getting more ******** up by the minute!" She said, then looked at Brian. "Well, what do we do now? Do we say something?"

He spoke up...

"Uh...y-yes...go ahead...y-you can scan us...I guess."

One moment please. Scanning......

Man, this was getting stranger by the second...

Scan complete. Brian Castings, Kali Emmerson, and Marcus Garreth. Is that correct?

"Holy s**t...yes, yes it is!...Thanks...uh, Kali...what the ********>

Kali was so weirded out by this, all she could do is giggle. "Your name is Marcus?" She asked Spaz, still giggling like an idiot. "Haha. Spaz is much better..." She looked around the room. "Wait, if that thing can tell our names by scanning us, what ELSE can it tell?"

"Not Marcus, SPAZ." He corrected the machine, but he didn't think it was listening. "Stupid mind-reading robot voice..."

Mmm? Skip had asked something, but Vixen wasn't paying attention. Already she was imagining the vivid details of killing some bat-like creature. Not that those particular creatures would exist in the simulation; she just like to imagine things. Thinking back to what the computer had asked, she could somewhat form a good guess of what the boy had asked.

"Umm, yeah, I'm pretty ready. I kinda wanna go kill things now and whatnot."

In fact, she was getting impatient. Why were they taking so long again? Oh, probably because no one had answered the computer. Damnit. Why wasn't she paying more attention to these things?

[REMISSION'S BACK!!!]

Then welcome to the caverns....

In an instant, everything changed. They in a cave...cold and damp, yet not nearly as dark as their previous surroundings. They heard strange noises, all of which seemed to emanate from a multidude of creatures and foreign beings...

The underground lair before them, at least for this floor, was laid out quite simply.

There was a straight-away first and foremost, much like the hallways and passages of Subania, only this hall was lined with dew-laden rock walls, floors and ceilings. Not to mention the absence of anything technological.

Thank God.

Emerald, for once, was quiet. She was really taking in the surroundings...this was quite the adventure. Definitely worth it.

[You will be moved to Chapter III: Caverns (Present) so that no one (namely myself) gets confused. Don't worry. This is not a sidequest.]

[Remission for you guys, too. Sorry about the pseudo-plagarism from Team 1...but it was my own work, so technically, it's reiteration.]

It was then that Spaz went blind. Damn vengeful robot bitches. Always causing a ruckus.

Taking the group by surprise, a huge, virtually-projected screen suddenly affixed itself to the empty air around them. It was pretty freaking cool; a white explosion of light and radiation, the screen was bright enough to light up the whole freakin' world! Yet...with all of its light...they still saw nothing but blackness around them.

After about 15 seconds of loading, a pair of blue rings appeared on the screen. It seemed to be the logo for Subania, or something like that. The computer automatically ran some boring diagnostic checks, then materialized three boxes on the screen, each one displaying textual evidence of what seemed to be routine checks. There was no more fembot dialogue to guide them now, only cold words and computerized images. The mainframe ran another confirmational bioscan, then basically put them on hold as the voice came back for an encore...

Access to FATE...is under surveillance...Due to the presence of one Brian Castings, known enemy to the Steimlich party, we are going to ask that your group be separated in two, whichever way you wish. We recommend sending Brian out alone. If he really wants to enroll in the party, we're going to have to see him try much, much harder than usual. Is this clear? You will not all go together, as to protect the integrity of this program. If this is okay, welcome to the training program. I am sensing that this is your first time in FATE, correct? You have the option of getting an informational briefing on your training missions at hand before you become full-fledged members of the Stemlich Party. Would you like to hear this educational guide?

Brian groaned.

"Oh, ******** got my file on record here. Listen, guys, before we begin, let's figure out who's going alone...and arm them with two weapons. Just for safety. So...who's it going to be?"

I heard that.

"DAMNIT!"

Don't think it will be so easy. You'll wish you had 5 weapons, going the whole FATE system on your own. You will most likely die. Anyways, would you like to hear the guide or not?

Well, she was a b***h.

As much as Spaz wanted to go dog wi- err, hog wild and start beating the crap out of everything in sight, he knew that Brian was the obvious choice for a solo mission. Probably because he had ******** charisma out the ******** wazoo.

Unslinging his boomstick, Spaz held it out to Brian.

"Here you go, superhero. Show us how it's done."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 10, 2007 3:02 pm

"You know what, if I find where that voice is coming from, I'll maks sure to tell you guys so you can stab it or something." Kali said, deciding that she was definately a b***h. "And...I dunno who should go with who..." She looked at each of her companions. She herself wasn't very strong, even if she could think (for the most part) clearly, and Spaz was, well, Spaz. So Brian really was the best choice, even if he couldn't make a decision to save his life. "Are we supposed to choose right now..." She asked, looking at Brian. "And what if they die..." She looked around the room yet again, searching for the voice-box the sound was coming from."And play the damn guide already, we're not going into this completely stupid about it."

'Even if you probably won't be much of a help you b***h.' she thought spitefully.

Suddenly, she thought of something else. "Wait, join the party? What party? What the ******** is going on...?"
