Asherah looked at her. What was her name? Rhymed somewhat with the other one... Mar... Mary, Marilene. That was it. "Yeh? 'ow so?" There was no real way to describe her new companions, other than... well... a bit silly. Strange didn't quite fit. She was strange as well.

Marilene smiled knowingly, looking forward to her Captain.
"Well.. There are lots of scary people out there. We're not very scary--"
"WE ARE VERY SCARY!!!" Tangerine roared from in front of them.
"At least someone bad didn't find you." Marilene added with a giggle. She was trying to strike up conversation, but always found herself doing the talking.

Asherah cracked a smile. They were silly, if only in the sense that they were completely different people. She'd met some that would mindlessly go along with anything their captain said.

She stretched her arms behind herself, still trying to work out the kinks in her back. "I'mma sure if'n nayone that dinna like me much came along I coulda handl'em." Nevermind that she didn't have any weapons. Or any knowledge of the terrain that might give her an advantage. "I'da come up wif sumfin," she added, a bit defeatedly.

The blonde girl nodded understandingly.
"You're very smart. I'm sure you wouldn't have protected yourself." Marilene replied with a smile.
"Bah! Stop yapping and we can eat!" Tangerine replied, swinging open the door of the small wooden restuarant.

She rolled her eyes, but said nothing. After all, no matter how... weird they were, she couldn't make it on her own if she tried. Instead, she held the door, and even pulled out a chair for her .... captain before sitting down herself.

"So... what're ye really doin' here," she asked once she was seated herself. Chances were that they weren't just "wandering" no one ever wandered. If they thought they were wandering, chances were that they were being guided. That's the way the world worked in her mind.

Tangerine stared at the girl strangely, sitting down in the offered chair a little skeptically. She exchanged a look with Marilene, who was absentmindly staring at the many decorations on the walls.
"We're currently searching for a ship." Tangerine replied a little reluctnatly. The blonde headed girl perked up at this mention, turning to her "crew".
"Why yes. It happens to much harder than most people make it seem." She replied with a smile, friendly even through their talk of theft.

"A ship, eh? Any ship in perticuhler?" Asherah crossed her legs in her chair and rested one arm on the back of it. She never sacrificed comfort for professionalism. Why do a silly thing like that?

Arron, who was across the room in a restaurant full of people talking and making noise and whatnot, recognized an incoherent voice. And while most people were incoherent at that distance, he had the sneaking suspicion that this one would continue to be incoherent even at close range. He looked behind himself. Yep. It was definitely Asherah.

Somehow, he'd had his suspicions that throwing someone overboard just as they were about to port was not particularly a wise choice.

At this moment in time, he was in the guise of an employee of the restaurant. That was one of his talents, you see. As far a pirates went, he was very clean. He didn't have a beard, his hands weren't grubby, and he was skinny. He could easily pass as anything that wasn't a pirate. It came in handy when they came to port.

A thought came across him. She probably had the key. She'd had the map, hadn't she? And it would be just like her to have them searching for something that they already had. He put on a big, fake smile and walked over to her table, and hoped she was still too drunk to recognize him. "What can I get you ladies," he said, smiling at the girls who had picked her up. Or possibly she had picked them up. It was hard to tell with someone like her.

The two girls looked up at the man, Marilene smiling brightly back and Tangerine glared up at him.
"I'll take an order of crab." Tangerine replied skeptically, looking him up and down. She bent over in her chair to look down at him, taking in his entire being. Marilene smiled happily up at him, thinking.
"I'll just have... Um, well... Asherah, what are you going to have?" She asked turning to her new crewmate.

"I'll 'ave'n order o 'whydjye throw me off der boat' nd a side o 'ye b*****d."

It took a minute for this to register. What did he know? The restaurant could have items on the menu with odd names. Like a theme restaurant or something. Still, he highly doubted it and nearly took a step towards the door.

She reached out and grabbed his shirt to prevent him from leaving. "Dun run 'way now. Cap'n wouln't like i' much eff'n ye cause a fuss when ye'r s'pose'ta be keepin' a low profile. 'Cuz that's what he sentye out 'ere for, ainit, Arron?" She gave him a sly smile, and tightened her grip on his shirt. "An' we all know what happ'ns when Cappy finds out ye ain' doin' yer job, dun we?"

Tangerine groaned, standing up and pushing the two from the table and out the door.
"Get back to the beach, the both of you." She said, glaring at the two. "You can fight there where you won't ruin my perfectly good dinner."
Marilene followed helplessly, trying to apologize to the real waiters as they exited the resturant. Tangerine pushed them back to the place where they had found Asherah.

Asherah didn't take too kindly to being pushed out, and glared a bit at Tangerine. "I dun think ye unnerstand what I mean when I say 'low profile.' Besides," she said, looking over at Arron. "We ain't fightin', is we Arron? No... we just havin' a lil' chat is all..." She smiled toothily, still gripping his shirt.

Looking down at his shirt and realizing that he was practically being held hostage, and knowing that she could easily send him home in a stretcher even if she was unarmed, he sighed. "What do you want?"

"Why'dje throw me off der boat? Fin'ly gettin' sick o' me, were ye?"

"Captain thought you were leading us in circles to find this key you were talking about. We'd passed this port twice. And no offense, Asherah, but you were starting to take advantage of your cozy position." He looked at the two girls she was with and blushed. "Who're they?"

Tangerine ignored Asherah's glare, her feelings weren't easily hurt. She let the two go as she they reached the beach and watched them until the man addressed her crew.
"I'm Captain Tangerine! Who're you, ruining our lunch and what all?!" Tangerine inquired of his fiercly, her voice barking the order at him. He obviously was under someone else, which therefore made her higher than him... Right?

"Pleasure to meet you, Captain Tangerine," he said, not taking his eyes off of Asherah. "I'm Arron, of The Eel. You remember the Eel, don't you Asherah?" Asherah twisted his shirt in her hand angrily and pulled him down some."Thought you might. Fair enough. I'm truly sorry for interrupting your lunch. I would bow, but as you see I am being held captive at the moment."

"Always der smooth-talker. 'S de onleh reason Cap'n e'ven keepsya on de boat," she mumbled.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 6:49 pm

Marilene reached over to Asherah, trying to slowly detach her fingers from Arron's. He wasn't going to get away, she was sure of that.
"Let's hear your reason, eh?" Tangerine asked, her eyes flaming with anger.

"Me? My reason... er, thank you," he said to Marilene, turning a bit pink in the face. "You know, I didn't do any of this. She," he said, pointing at Asherah, "she's the one who grabbed me. And I had nothing to do with it."

"I we'ren't abouta let ye go ef ye're the onleh one that could answer me questions, now was I? Ye coulda warned me that ye were gonna throw me off der boat!"
