Porter battled mentally, trying to decide wether he should tell these two strangers what he was going to do with the gryphon.
"I'm a tracker and hunter." He said finally. "I track down anything; wether it's an animal, a lost horse, or, even a man, if I'm asked."
He stuck his pistol back into it's holster on his hip.

Porter shook his head.
"No, I don't need help." He smoothed down his shirt. "I can take my time though; my pay increases with each day I take."

He turned away, and tried to pick up his trail once again.

"Have fun" Turning her back on him Yuri went back to her berry bush and using her shirt for a dish started to gather them in. Glancing at Jess, "We cant go on a empty stomach now can we?"

She said as she took a couple of berries in a pouch of her belt.
and then she tried to take as many as she can in her hands and then took out a hankerchief.
She placed the berries on the hanky and put it on the ground ♥

Humming a song to herself she started ate a berry for every few she picked. I miss singing. she thought. Yuri had once been in a choir and favored for her saprano voice, but that was then and this is now. Taking off the shirt under her corset vest she tied the sleaves and dumped berries in there. better to have food than confort

"Sleep?" Yuri yelped, startled. "We cant sleep now! Ive heard people talk it wont be anywhere near here. We have to find the waterfall!" Glancing back at the man she lowered her voice, "Jess I thought you knew. All the stories link the gryphon back it Itias Falls. This pond cant feed its self. If we can find the main river we can follow it back. We would have a beter chance of finding it there. Or if he ever leaves I can show you the trail I found."

Yuri ignored Jess' look. She new that look all to well. It was the same look she got when she told her friends she was running away.
"Alrighty then! lets go!"
Swinging her things over her shoulder Yuri took off into the woods.

Porter wished he hadn't left his horse. But he knew that Charo wouldn't be able to trot on the growing rocky terrain.
He could now hear a faint rumbling of the waterfall. He grinned. He was getting close. If the gryphon had been losing as much blood as that which left the trail, then it was heavily wounded. He quickened his pace, eager to gain his prize.

♥ Jessie followed Yuri as fast as possible towards the waterfall.
After what seemed like an hour, she could hear the faint sound of the waterfall.
"Wow, we must be gettin closer.:
She thought as she wiped the sweat trickling down her forehead and popped another berry into her mouth.
"Yuri, honey. How long ya think til the waterfall?" ♥

"Not far now!" She called over her shoulder. The increase in the ground became more pronounced the farther she went rearranging the straps she started using both hands to keep her balance before it was almost a 90 degree incline. The waterfall was bueatiful...but it would be even more so from the top Jess was still farther behind so she called, "Were there! Im heading to the top come if you want..."
