Personally I prefer rap.

I'm not so great on artist loyalty but the beats and lyrics that come with rap has better meaning to me than what comes with rock.
Haha my *****.
Rock is good for getting wild at parties but hip-hop can do all that and more...no offense to rock though

Well I don't listen to a lot of Rock and I don't know much about it, so I'm not going to judge it.

just two years ago i started listening to a lot of rap because a lot of rap has really good beats and lyrics behind it. i was raised amongst a lot of rich white people who frowned upon rap because they thought it was only about drugs and stuff like that. eventually i realized you can only write so many songs about drugs before you run out of stuff to rap about so i thought i would check out some of the s**t that they don't play on the radio, like swizz beatz and mf doom, shits good.

i do listen to rock as well though. that was basically what i was raised on but i don't go around like a lot of poseurs do, saying that rap sucks and stupid s**t like that. those are really ignorant people and they piss me off. lyrics are just as hard to write in rap as in rock. if anything its harder to rap because you have to be able to come up with something original all the time because of all the biters. a lot of rock now is starting to sound the same which is also another reason i started listening to rap and hip-hop.

i love rap, NO i love " REAL RAP" not no punkass dance songs, not no snap ur fingers bullshit, all that is fake and really annoying. i like that hard hit u in ur bones rap. The stuff that when i hear the Lyrics, i can feel wat the rapper is trying to say, Educated rap. a song that has blood sweat and tears in it, all the snap ur finger bullshit is not deeply thought, ITS TO EASY TO BE CALLED "RAP"
-i like sumtin wit a cause not sumtin that wud get up in the the charts-

Yes, graff was closely related to the punk scene as was the rest of hip-hop in the beginning. As time passed they differentiated themselves further by splitting into two different cultures. mrgreen

i think that rap now is sold out

i am a "rocker" but i like alot of rap but none of that mainstream rap

MTV ruins music
in my opinion rock does take more talent but rap for the most part has more thought and soul put into the lyrics

I am what most peole would call hardcore or what ever.

I love music with great breakdowns and stuff.

But I also listen to a little rap and hip-hop. I kinda stopped listening to alot of it though when all of these stupid songs came out like that stupid Shake that Laffy Taffy song
