Tsai Mule

PostPosted: Sat May 26, 2007 10:54 pm

Tsai was about 34ft up in the air hanging on rock. His right hand was aching after holding the ledge previously just to retoss his safety measures. "Kaosu should have thought over why I have a grappling hook to climb. Not only does it secure me if I fall but it always trains me to be calm when I'm only hanging on one hand off of a 20ft fall. But that'll all change when I reach 3/4 the way up this hill.."

Tsai looked up, the cliff began to curve, he would have to hang upside down soon to climb the rest of the cliff. But it'd take awhile before that'd happen. He was only 1/5 of the way up the vertical climb, which would mean that it would take him about another 30-45 minutes before he reached the part of the climb that he'd have to hang upside down without his safety precautions.

Karite took his hand out of the crack and began strafting to the left following the pattern of th rock to make sure he had some grip on the wall in front of him. His hands although just starting the climb were already bleeding. "If I dont make it up this damn cliff I am done." Karite continued to climb the cliff until he came to a slight problem. He was out of rock to his left.

Tsai was now 40ft above the ground from where he started when he saw someone jump down and use his zampakuto almost like a parachute, stabbing it into the rock below. "Wasn't that Karite?" Tsai wondered. More and more people were starting to climb. Tsai was way ahead of them all so he didn't need to worry. He turned his head around and continued his climb remembering that he was timed.

Tsai estimated that it'd take him a couple more hours before he even reach the curved upside down climb of the cliff. The trip was getting rather dangerous and Tsai still had about 1500ft more to go.

He checked his timer with his right hand while his left hand held onto a small ledge it took him about 8 minutes to get up to about 45ft, it was a pretty decent record. Well, at least Tsai thought it was decent enough. He quickly put his timer away and continued his climb.

About 50ft up into the climb, Tsai found another nice ledge to stand on. Here, he took a break and took out a bottle of water from his bag and drank from it. It was refreshing. He looked down now seeing two dot-like figures below him.

Tsai put his bottle away into his abnormally large bag and continued his climb. Higher and higher he went passing the 60ft point. But Tsai didn't know that, and he was beginning to develop a fear of heights from where he was. It was a loooooonnnggg fall. Tsai began thinking of a way that he could avoid breaking his arm or killing himself if he fell. "I could always use reiatsu to break my fall.. or I can do what Karite did but that'd damage my zampakuto severely and scratch it up..oh the decisions.."

The climb was getting exhausting yet Tsai still had about 1440ft to go to finish his climb. Sokyoku Hill was about 1500ft in height.

Tsai soon began to think about his battle with Chimitsu again, he had nothing else to get his mind off the climb. It was exhausting so he didn't really want to think much about his painful hands. "Even if I obtain shikai, I hear it'll take me awhile to master all of it's abilities, and even if I master all the abilities, I don't even know if I'll be able to react fast enough to Chimitsu..

This climb may be helping me with alot of things but it's not going to be enough for me to defeat that woman. I gotta think..think...think.."

Tsai continued to think while climbing. He was about 75ft now up in the air. Even if he used reiatsu and his zampakuto to stop his fall, it'd damage his arm just holding onto his zampakuto. Tsai shook his head for the fifth time and continued to move his arms and feet in coordination as he regained his previous speed and dashed up as quickly as he could. Below he could see the forest that surrounded the hill of Sokyoku and now he could see Rukongai.

He wondered what was happening there now after that disaster and he wondered about the plans of the new enemies of Soul Society: "The Four Heavenly Kings".

"From the information that I have collected on the Four Heavenly Kings, only three of them have revealed themselves to Soul Society. The one that was releasing reiatsu and caused the death of the citizens of Inuzuri district, Chimitsu, and another unidentified one". The information was not going to help Tsai get better trained for the events that would soon fall upon Soul Society but it did provide a sort of motivation for him.

Tsai had finally reached 90ft in about 43 minutes time. He was exhausted, but not near his limit. He predicted that he would probably near his limit when he was about 500ft into the air. Then would be the most dangerous point of the climb.

The heat of the sun of Soul Society wasn't making the climb any easier, Tsai began sweating but he kept his quick and steady pace up the climb. He seemed somewhat renewed mentally and didn't seem very tired after thinking about the Four Heavenly Kings. Tsai then remembered that there were two people below him, far below him. About 70-80ft below him.

"I hope Kaosu can at least catch up and stay 30ft close to me... and Karite what a daredevil..jumping down and using his zampakuto to breka the fall, I wonder if his hands hurt?' he muttered to himself just to keep himself company. The cliff was quite quiet, there were sounds of swords clashing above(probably students and others training) but those were the only sounds that Tsai could hear other than the wind.

Tsai soon reached the site where his pick was lodged against a rock, he tugged on it and pulled it off with one hand while the other wrapped around the rock so that he could rethrow it. It took longer than last time to reach the pick, it was either because he was slower or because he had tossed it farther than his last. Whatever the reason, he reached the pick now and began spinning it to his side again.

He released it and this time it was lucky catching it onto a ledge. Tsai tugged on it three times and declared that it was safe. He continued his climb now about 115ft-120ft above the ground. The air layer was starting to get thin but he continued.

It was about an hour and fifty minutes into the climb, Tsai reached the 145ft mark on Sokyoku Hill and wondered if others had joined the climb. He looked downwards and saw two very small dots and that was about it. It seems that the teachers haven't even brought the other shinigami down yet. Or were they training elsewhere at the base? Tsai didn't know and wouldn't know until he reached the top of the hill. The curve of the climb was about 600ft away from Tsai.

That part of the climb was the most dangerous and probably something Tsai feared. He would have to hang on for his life and climb upside down to reach the edge of the cliff and reach the top of the climb.

exclaim Major Time Skip

Time passed by...five hours and fifty minutes had passed now Tsai was sweating a hell lot and he was tired. He was about 700ft above the ground. It took him awhile but he had finally conquered half the climb. After endless repetitions of throwing the pick, getting to the pick and rethrowing the pick he had finally made it to the middle of the climb. He was tired and had finally reached the limit of his body.

Tsai refused to give up the hardest part of his training was about to climb up now that he had reached his limit. Tsai began to release his reiatsu into the air, into his feet, into his entire body. He gritted his teeth as he pulled his pick from the cliff.

He jammed the pick into the part of the cliff that curved outwards, he then pulled out his zampakuto. He no longer cared about scratching his zampakuto, he'd just get it fixed later at the blacksmith's. Tsai then stabbed his zampakuto into the cliff and began to climb using the zampakuto and pick as climbing equipment as he progressed upside down.

It was hard just keeping his legs from dangling from the climb but his bag was also being a bother and weighed him down. A few things also began falling out from the bag as well. His bottle, a few towels, a few books fell out as he continued his journey climbing the cliff. There was no turning back now.. 800ft above the ground, climbing upside down like a spider and totally exhausted..

He stabbed his zampakuto, then his pick then he pulled his zampakuto out of the wall, then stabbed it forward, then he pulled the pick out and jammed it into the cliff, he repeated this process over and over and over again. His reiatsu was the only thing that kept his body moving. His hands were hurting and bloody from the rocky climb up.

"I guess this...this is the perfect time to test my new arm out.." he said to himself as he began to think thoughts of not feeling pain in his right arm and adding reiatsu into it. He waited for a moment and then continued his climb. It was true that his left arm no longer felt any pain, but his right continued to.

Tsai now wished that his right hand was also a gingishu like his left.

Note: Tsai's time is completely off with everyone else's.

exclaim Sunset

The sun was starting to set and it was about 7 hours into the climb for Tsai. He felt sticky and continued to sweat bucket's as he climbed. His hands were starting to sweat as well making him grip on his zampakuto and the pick harder and harder. He also couldn't wipe his hands or he'd risk falling down. The training was getting more and more dangerous.

Tsai's reiatsu also was starting to deplete after releasing it for so long. He would now have to rely on his own instinct to keep him going or he was done for. He continued to grit his teeth as he repeated the proccess of stabbing his zampakuto, then his pick, pulling the zampakuto out, stabbing it again and repeating.
