Nice pics. I wouldn't say that those moves and useless. I wouldn't use them in a fight, but the skills it takes to execute them are valuable. Agility and flexibility are always an asset.

I would, what would I hit with a side kick at that height? A passing bird? A crazy TKD peron spin kicking in the air? mrgreen And that last is just acrobatics? It's more something to do in the summer between classes smile

No martial arts pix that I know of...*rummage-rummage*... Weeeeell...this one isn't of me, but it's Laren and his classmates with Rossignol Sensei, who he speaks of with awe and shining puppy eyes: And here's last year's Christmas family photo: And, if we're doing cosplay pix, here's me as Morrigan (I had better muscle tone three years before, ie before I had a baby, but *someone* [glare at Laren] was more paranoid about deterring fanboys than he was interested in getting a picture): It's rare to get pix of me, because in my family, if you hand Laren the camera, he'll hold it all day waiting patiently for you to take it back and snap pictures. It's like our checkbook - he assumes that who does it is decided by some sort of inertia-c**-staring contest, ie whoever blinks first has the job for all time. Yes, quit laughing, that IS how it's spelled in that usage.

Marty Nozz Nice pics. Y'all have a cute kid. The Missus and I are trying for one ourselves. Thank you! biggrin We're pretty big fans of the wee guy ourselves, and are trying for another one as well. Sadly, though, while Lucien was a pleasant surprise, we've been trying over a year for number two and still no joy. Well...the practice is fun, but...you get the idea. redface In the meantime, Daddy has taught Lucien the art of grappling quite well! sweatdrop And his favorite movie is Pirates of the Caribbean pirate , he's fond of Project A as well, he plays with little ninja figures, he loves to "play swords" (ie, have a duel using his plastic swords), and he gives small kung fu demonstrations for his army of fangirls (mostly the waitresses at the local chinese buffet). I do believe he's shaping up to be as much of a martial arts geek as his father! 3nodding Good luck to you guys! Kids are great.

Heh, I wish I got to do try the old fashioned way. Due to some medical problems we have to go the invetro route. The wife wants a kid. I want a test subject. He keep hearing, "No, you will not be teaching our infant how to hit the heavy bag!" *Sigh*

Marty Nozz ...He keep hearing, "No, you will not be teaching our infant how to hit the heavy bag!" *Sigh* blaugh Why not? Lucien always *loved* punching drills. We'd grab his little hands and go to town: "Jab-jab! Jab! Reverse punch! Reverse punch! Uppercut! Cross punch! Cross punch! Jab-jab!" And he'd just laugh and wiggle. And, naturally, Daddy did sticky hands with him whenever he changed the boy's diaper to keep him from reaching in, meaning boy got really good at sitcky hands over time. Of course, now it's almost impossible to get him into any clothes he doesn't want to wear, but...he's so heart cute heart when he does kung fu demos for girls he wants to impress! ...And he can palm just about anything... ninja
