Sadly, it's highly unlikely there will be a second season
sweatdrop ...the reasons being...
1) the story follows a yearly time frame...as in It started in the Spring, when the Japanese school year begins and ended in at the Cultural Festival, which is usually held in November...
If they did have some kind of season 2 or something they would only have the winter time span to work with...or start with a new year. But starting with a new year would mean Mori and Hunni wouldn't be there, being that they graduated...
In the Manga Hatori Bisco has repeatedly said she doesn't follow the natural flow of time...so she doesn't have to worry about that and can make the Manga go on forever if she wants...
2) Haurhi's debt is settled... something that in the Manga Hatori Bisco can drag on for as long as she wants...
It's not all that popular in Japan.
It's kind of like Furuba. People petitioned for a second season for that too and it didn't happen.
In the US They're HUGE but in Japan not so much.
they might do a second season if it was big in Japan, but mostly people are satisfied with following the manga
