A soft sigh escaped from her as her attention shifted real quick from the water's surface to the sky. It was still rather light out, but the sun starting to set was already casting other colors into the light blue that was there. She was in no rush to head home seeing on how she lived near by, but he was another story.
It was when he mentioning disciplining Midna, that caused her to blink a bit and look back to him. "I don't think respect has anything to do with her. She thinks she's better than everyone and doesn't seem to care what anyone has to say unless it benefits her in some way." She simply shook her head at the thought, though it would be nice to have some respect from that mare, she didn't really ever see it coming.

"Stranger things have happened," Azumoth mused as he continued to watch the little mare. By the looks of things she was beginning to grow weary of his company or perhaps she needed to be left alone with her thoughts. He wasn't sure which it was but understood the necessity to have a little 'me' time...he preferred to have a lot of it and could get rather frazzled should he be interrupted during such a state.
He didn't want to be a hypocrit.
"That being said you do not strike me as the type who would joust in such a manner," he added after a few moments though he too was becoming all too aware of the sun rolling below the horizon. While he had no problem finding his way home in the black of night it was perhaps unwise to leave one so fragile to do that as well.
...Mayhaps it was time to go?
"Alas I should think that I should locate my mother and coax her back to safety, provided she has not already started more chaos while absent."

"I'm sure they have... and Midna giving respect would be something strange indeed." Ayanna replied, musing over the idea of that ever happening. Slowly, she turned and walked away from the lake, turning fully toward the large stallion. "Jousting, huh? I usually don't 'joust' unless I absolutely have to." She stated softly, her tail giving a lazy flick.
At the mention of his mother causing more 'chaos', she couldn't help but giggle. "Aww... your mother seems like such a sweetheart, I don't think she could cause any chaos. But if you wish, I will be happy to help you find her before seeing you off if you really must go."

He genuinely had to go, there was no doubting this tiny fact in his mind. He had already spent far too much time out in the open (having fallen for his mother's trick) and thus he was all the more determined to find the safety of his forest once more. That wasn't to say he hadn't enjoyed the mare's company...on the contrary he had in some form or another even if he didn't quite understand her.
"As pleasant as such an offer is, I would be more comfortable in the knowledge that you returned to your home safely," he replied at last, a subtle way of declining her aid. Truly, he could locate his rather loud parent with ease, he was more concerned with what might threaten the petite beauty that faced him now.
"But trust me, my mother can cause a great deal of chaos when she wants to."

"You sure? I mean, I don't live too far from here, so it won't be a problem getting home. I will happily see you on your way, or at least, to the edge of the forest." She offered as she came to stand beside him. The mare was just being polite... or at least, what she believes to be polite, considering the two seemed to have different definitions of the term. If he were to decline this time, she will respect that.
"I'll have to take your word for it, seeing on how I don't know her well enough myself."

She certainly was a stubborn one, one so inclined as to think about others before herself in terms of safety. In a way this was sweet but in others it was highly inappropriate - especially given that he was the male and perfectly capable of finding his own way home. It would be poor and ill mannered of him to expect and escort in the given situation and so he could only offer a wry smile in response to her words.
"I assure you I can return home with ease, I will be more content in the knowledge that you are safe," he repeated, ensuring for the most part that his expression was unreadable. He knew she was just being polite but there was that small issue of the male pride to deal with at the same time and contrary to belief he did actually have that hidden beneath those insecurities.
...He had peculiar priorities.

"Okay, if you say so." Ayanna sighed softly, giving him a warm smile. With a small nicker, she moved so she stood in front of him and bowed her head low to him. She would have nuzzled him in good-bye, but she wasn't sure that he would take to that too well. "It was nice meeting you and your mother Azu. I hope we can see each other again one day."

"Perhaps one day we shall," he was making no promises, the sky would fall in before this stallion would make his way out of his Grove again. Something utterly momentus would have to occur in order to persuade him to move. There was no other way to express it but stranger things had happened and while he was oblivious to it...it was unlikely the fates would permit him to wallow in his grove for very long.
Nevertheless, secure in this 'knowledge' that he would be unlikely to see the mare again he offered a ghostly smile of his own and nodded his head in farewell. Given how pretty she was it was a damn good thing that he was prepared to see her again - it would have become somewhat troublesome. Alas, what had occured was unavoidable and he was unlikely to forget it.
But for safety's (and her) sake, it would be much better to avoid it again.

With a flick of her tail, she glanced around for a moment, checking her position for when she made her journey back home. Looking back to him, she smiled and shifted slightly. "I wish you a safe journey home. Tell your mother, when you find her, that it was nice meeting her and I wish her well."
With that said, she turned and headed toward the direction of her teepee, allowing him to go on his way as well. Inwardly, she didn't want to go just yet, having found the stallion highly interesting, but she didn't want to keep him as well. Only the thought of possibly meeting him at another day got her to continue her trek.
[Bah... my posts always get bad near the ending. x3]
