"Nope," Rabid laughed, "Liam did. And he coudn't get back down." She handed the cup over, motioning to the fridge.
"Cream and sugar in there, if you feel like pulling an Ethan and being utterly disgusting."

Crow did laugh then, ignoring the way it caught in her throat and turned into a cough.
"Uuugh, so mean," she said, shaking her head. Her fingers wrapped around the hot cup and she almost flinched, though the warmth was very, very soothing. "Blech, no! If I was Ethan I'd be adding mustard just to see what it would taste like. The boy is sick in the head, I tell you."
She took an experimental sip of the tea. Ick. Okay, so she didn't like peach tea. She took a longer sip, holding the liquid in her mouth to figure out why she didn't like the taste. The steam made her nose sting.

"Well, he is related to you," Rabid nodded, "Shared genes or not, you rub off on people."

Crow grinned like a skull.
"My eccentric ways are contagious. I have hip cooties and what-not," she said dryly, swigging back another sip of tea and sniffing again as the stinging got worse. "Hnf! Ow."
She rubbed her nose absently, and frowned as she felt a sudden wetness.
"Hm? Oh....oh dear," she muttered, looking at the little streak of blood staining the skin of her hand.

"Ohjeez," Rabid said quietly and reached toward the counter, grabbing a handful of tissues and holding them out to Crow. She'd never had a nsoebleed herself, but she was pretty sure she knew what to do.
...coutning to ten was for hiccups, right?

"Thanks," Crow said, taking the tissue and pinching it to her nose. As though responding to the sudden pressure, more blood suddenly spurted out. "AH! ******** stumbled back, cursing and scrabbling for the rest of the tissues. She tried to tilt her head back but she suddenly gagged, rushing to the sink and spitting out blood that had flowed into her mouth. <******** s**t what the hell!"

Rabid ignored the scent of blood as best she could.
"Cripes, did you burst a nose-artery? Are you okay?"

Crow doubled over and grabbed at the counter for support, starting to shiver again. The flow got worse and blood splattered onto the floor.
"Hhn-hhk," she sputtered, gripping the counter with white-knuckled strength. "Stop, stop, quit it!"
She coughed once, twice, and stood up straight again, spitting more blood into the sink. The hot flow had stopped as suddenly as it had started. She grabbed at the handles and turned on the water, flushing the blood away.
"Ugh...yeah, yeah, I'm fine," she said, wiping away the blood from her face and kneeling down, trying to mop up the alarming puddle on the floor. "Ach. I've ruined your floor yet again."

"Eh," Rabid shrugged, "Gives it character." She allowed Crow to attempt in vain to clean, however. She knew quite well she'd start licking the floor. Or something.
"So. What the ********? That happen a lot?"

Soaking the tissues through with little result, Crow tried to ignore the way she'd started to shiver again, dragging her sleeve across her face absently.
"No...no, that's new," she said, shaking her head. "Been feeling like s**t for ages...maybe I just...ah hell, I dunno. Sorry 'bout that."
Any energy she'd thought she had regained was gone. She felt spent again, and the cold was spreading like a poison through her body.
"Maybe I oughta head back. I thought I was better, I don't wanna give this to anyone else," she said guiltily. "I'll call you later. Thanks for the tea..."

Crow blinked owlishly, head tilting to one side.
"You they me huh?" she said, ducking out for a minute to get her coat and then wandering back, dragging it on. "I'll call, I promise. And I'll bring like. A cactus. To make up for house-damage. Cacti automatically mean awesome anyway."

Rabid laughed slightly. Leave it to Crow to be idiotically almost-witty after spurting head-blood.
"Alright. As long as it's a sentient cactus. Buh-bye, dear."

"I'll make a note of it," she said, heading out. "See you."

__Part 11
Crow had barely made it back into her room and to bed. Shivering, coughing, a thin trail of blood leaking from her nose again, she curled into a ball and closed her eyes, not even trying to take off her jacket. She whimpered at the cold, the tea roiling in her stomach. She tossed and turned on the bed, trying to get comfortable, close to tears from the feeling of sickness and that merciless, unrelenting cold.
"Ugh, stop it, stop it," she muttered, a few tears finally springing free. She twisted on the bed, claws raking the blankets and downy stuffing oozing from the wounds. "Hnnn...."
She coughed again, and choked.
"Hkk! Hkk!"
She couldn't breathe. She couldn't breathe! She tossed again, coughing wetly. The flow of blood had restarted in full force, not just leaking from her nose but from her mouth, her ears...she tried to scream as she felt an acidic sting in her eyes, felt liquid that wasn't tears streaking down her face...
"Crow! CROW! Wake UP!"
Crow shuddered awake, gasping. It had been afternoon a minute ago but now the room was dark. She coughed and shivered, wiping her hands frantically across her face. Sweat and tears, not blood, wet her palms. Ethan hovered over her, gripping her shoulders very hard.
"Are you alright?" he asked, expression bordering panic. Crow took a few deep heaving breaths, and forced herself to nod.
"Really, really bad dream," she said, extracting herself from Ethan's hold and pushing herself up onto the bed. "I just...hnn. Creepy."
Ethan, looking as though he wanted to say something, turned away as Crow slid under the covers and rolled over, still fully dressed and already asleep again.
