Rogue didn't respond much at the grin, it didn't seem to taunt her as it did his brothers. In fact, she liked him with the smile, it
At the words better than expected, Rogue's eyes lit up. She tried hard at what she did to compete with the warriors and magic users in her house and took his words as a great compliment. Especially coming from this family.
As Heero placed his hand on her head she shut one eye and looked up at him, her head tilted slightly with her grin still present. She opened her mouth to speak, but then closed it as Heero was going to ask her about it later.
Her stance wasn't anything special, she took it from observing her warrior brothers with swords, and her sisters with a wand and scythe. The only thing special about it was that she spent time trying to figure out what she should do to keep her balance if shoved. She almost expected something about it to change on this trip. No biggie.
She glanced back at Serge and smiled before looking back at Heero. Mimic him? Sounded easy enough. "Alrigteh, let's go."
Minerva continued along and found something equally entertaining, if not more. She slid off her broom and leaned it up against a tree trunk, watching the three for a few seconds before brushing past a bush to stand next to Hinata.
Turning to the girl, she smiled. "Hello."

Heero set his stance very much like Rogue had, with only a slight adjustment. He had the position of his feet off set compared to her's and more weight place on the forward foot. "While I'm not sure where your stance comes from, I know this much, it is a stance that favors a weapon..."
Thinking for a moment before going on, the fox man seems to nod at some unseen decision. "This is good, since I will be teaching you to use daggers later on, but for now, with out a weapon, you weight is too far back." Adjusting a few times, showing the difference between Rogue's position and this slightly altered one, Heero went on. "This differed stance, will compensate for that, while not feeling too different, and throwing you off." He explained calmly.
"This change should allow you to start your attacks much faster, as for the following attacks, those will be the same speed as before, but the new initial speed should be enough to keep most opponents from being able to react and block." With that Heero stepped out of the stance for a moment. "Do you understand why that's important Rogue?"

Hinata 'epp' as she startled slightly from the surprise greeting. "O-oh...-hi..." She said quietly. "So your first lesson is over?" The pale eyed girl asked with a kind smile, while her brothers continued on, completely oblivious, Glenn had actually been holding the upper hand after a switch in tactics, but it looked like Riku was catching on quickly.

Rogue nodded along while Heero spoke, she examined the differences when he did different stances and hoped she would remember the small changes and shifting of weight.
Nodding again, she absorbed the knowledge about speed. It was one of the things she depended on in times of need.
"Um... Ah think so, to get the upperhand and beat them to the punch?"
Minerva nodded and glanced over to the boys briefly before turning back to Hinata. "Yes, it's Rogue's turn now. This whole trip was for her to advance in skill, knowledge and all that. I'm perfectly fine with my techniques and ways of magic, but I love learning." She grinned.
"Do you have a specialty?"

"Close." Heero said with a smile. "Actually, it's to hit them before they can block." He explained. "You have an incredible speed, you hit fast, and to judge by the light bruising on Serge's arms, with some power."
Moving to sit down in a comfortable position the fox man went on. "The only thing holding you back from being on par with my own kids is that initial burst, the first strike." Nodding to Serge, he watched as the boy stood up. "If your first punch connects solidly, I'm willing to bet, that almost no one out there, other those like myself, would be able to recover fast enough to not take every last hit in your combo."
With a chuckle the man went on. "So, if we can perfect your hand to hand stance, all that will be left is teaching you a few new moves, so you can attack in different ways." Nodding toward Serge as the boy resumed a fighting pose, Heero went on. "Now, let's see if we can't get you up to speed." The man said with a quiet laugh at his own bad joke.

Hinata nodded ever so slightly. "I think so...kinda...but it's hard to practice...I kinda found by accident anyway..." But that was all the girl was willing to say on the matter.

Shuffling her feet from one foot to the other, her cheeks flushed. She didn't mean to actually hurt Serge. Heck, she didn't even think she could bruise him!
She examined her knuckles briefly. Power? At least she knew she was getting somewhere. She just needed to be able to control it enough to signal through her first punch... or something.
The corners of her lips quirked up in a grin. That sounded like it could be very useful. She then nodded a few times as Heero spoke before pausing in her movements and turning to Serge. Was she supposed to try and fight him again?

"Well that's interesting... and it will make it all the more better to have once you've succeeded in all the training and whatnot. most people give up when they find out it's difficult, good for you. Maybe later on down the road you can show me this talent of yours." She of course understood why Hinata was keeping things from her, so that didn't stop her from being friendly.

Heero sighed ever so slightly. "Rogue...I know you don't want to train to hurt others...but you need to come to an understanding...causing pain is an integral part of fighting."
The fox man stood and walked over to the girl, setting his hand atop her head as her crouched to be eye to eye with her. "I know this might be hard to comprehend, but to protect something, one must sometimes harm another...I know you care for Serge, but as of right now, I need you to see him as an enemy...visualize him as being someone you seek to rise above, and attack as if you are about to lose something precious."
Serge, through this all, stood there, tensed and ready, never once letting down his guard, he wanted to be ready to block, he felt her punches once, and wasn't curious about how an unblocked shot felt.

Hinata shook her head quickly. "I-it's not that...it's just...there is no half way with it...it does only harm..." She had started loudly, well loudly for her, but by then end had sunk to only just above a whisper. "I...I just don't like hurting others..." She murmured quietly, her bothers' spar all but forgotten until the sound to splintering wood split through the clearing, and her head snapped up to see what had happened...

Rogue didn't respond right away, her lips stayed sealed as she furrowed her brow slightly. She knew he was right, it was just how everything worked.
That didn't mean she had to like it.
She simply walked away from Heero and over to prepare herself. She flexed her fingers before clenching them into tight fists, her gloves making soft sounds as she moved. She put herself into the stance she had learned only moments earlier.
See him as an enemy.
She tried.
Visualize him as being someone you seek to rise above.
It wasn't difficult for her, she generally always set the bar high. Trying to be better than a few of her siblings and doing whatever it took to get there.
Attack as if you are about to lose something precious.
It was almost as if she had known true pain and heartache before, but that wasn't possible... was it?
Her eyes flared as she struck. Emotions and feelings that she didn't even know she had were fueling her. Driving her. Forcing her to use most of her strength to defeat the enemy. She hardly registered when she started, her brain seemed to be making calculated moves without her consent.
And then something went wrong. She had overthrown one of her punches and went off to the side, sliding to the ground and rolling once before she lay still and stared at the sky, taking a few deep breaths.

Minerva nodded, an understanding expression washed over her face. "Seems like a difficult thing to study. I wish you luck on it." Her lips curved up into a smile.
"No, I don't believe you do. But that's why you are a good person to study this. You will have control, and the sense of when it's appropriate."
Her expression quickly went from understanding to concern as she followed the source of the noise.

Heero only stepped back and watched as the girl took her stance, and grinned at the change in the way she held herself as she began to visualize.
He nodded to himself, she had what it took, which meant he could go ahead. For him. reading the body had long since be come second nature, and he read in her every move a desire to rise above what would otherwise be a crush force.
She had the right heart, now he had only to temper it.
Serge managed to block the first attack, but only barely, the force behind it seem completely different this time, so much so that he was actually pushed back with not just the first, but each successive blow, until finally, after one, he couldn't keep from stumbling back, and falling over, even as the next strike came.
He only barely registered the sound of another body hitting the ground beside him, he's mind was in a complete daze at this point. If this was Rogue untrained, what would she be like after? he would have to double his own personal regime, or he'd be left in the dust in no time.

Hinata let out a sigh of relief when her eyes found her brothers. The sound had come from only one of Glenn's two swords, the other was still intact, if only just, and holding back Riku's now force-less blade.
"Alright. I think that's enough for today." She said in a tone that left no room for argument, and she had even spoken loud enough to be plainly heard. "Farther will be displeased enough with the broken sword..." She said returning to her more docile tones. "And you both already need half you bodies treated..."
Neither of her brothers showed any sign of argument.

It took a few seconds for Rogue to snap out of her vicious daze. She pulled herself to sit up and propped herself up with her hands behind her as she rolled her shoulders.
"No bruises this time?" Accompanying her words was a soft smile. She shuffled her shoes around in the near ground before she lifted her eyes, her gaze falling upon Serge.

As she watched the scene with the three siblings, Minerva made a mental note for a few spells she should learn upon her return home. Healing spells, things that could prove useful in a fight, or a world shift.
Reparo didn't fix broken bones, after all.

Serge stood up and shook his head before looking over at his dad, and getting a nod, took an actual fighting stance, the stance it self making the boy look catish.
His eyes seeming to narrow, and his whole body tensing. He was obviously taking things very seriously this time.
"From this point on, it's a spar...I'd like to see just what you can really do Rogue." Heero said from his vantage, an almost knowing look to the grin that his lips were curved into. "You may begin whenever you feel ready."

Before she had been attacking a defensive stance, now she was sparring against an offensive-on partner. She was slightly nervous, but the feeling quickly died down; it's not like she was going to get horribly hurt or anything. Taking her new stance again, she flashed her teeth in a grin as she clenched her one hand into a fist, nodding once to him as a sign of respect.
She rolled herself on her feet once, getting her grip and the feel of it ready. She inched herself away from her spot and looked her opponent over, trying to get a feel of it; how would he fight if he held himself like that? She could figure him being quick and stealthy... and most likely better than her in those areas which she hoped to rise in herself. If she was right, he would make a mighty fine sparring partner, yes indeed.
She started with a swift kick to his abdomen to get him moving.

Serge leaned back, most of his weight shifting toward the back left of his body, avoiding the kick but also sending him toward the ground.
His body began to twist as he dropped, and his left hand quickly shot out, and shifting as much weight as possible to the limb, he spun on his palm, sweeping his legs around, aiming to trip his sparring partner.

After she launched her attack she paused briefly to see how he would react. Bending her legs, she swung her arms up and over her head to avoid his legs in the form of a back handspring.
At her jump to steady herself she pushed off with her right foot and shot forward at Serge. Her arms were out to push his shoulders lightly and keep him to the ground before she kicked the ground with her left leg and made to jump over his self.
She landed on the ground very solid, but slid slightly back from her opponent slightly. Her right arm and leg were straight- arm in the air while her left leg was bent as with her left arm supporting her on the ground.
She huffed, blowing stray hair out of her face.

Serge twisted on the ground, right into a crouched position as soon as he could, his back was to Rogue, but that changed quickly as his body shot up like a coiled spring let loose.
The navy haired boy shot into the air, flipping backward, right leg drawn back of a falling kick as his body seemed to line up with her as he began to come down, his drawn back leg swinging down in an all out attack.

Not being able to get out of the way fast enough, Rogue got hit with the full force of the kick and went flying a few feet. Rolling to a stop she quickly righted herself and furrowed her brow. She stood up and brushed herself off before her lip curled up into a grin, it was time to switch up the tactics.
She pushed forward and faked a punch at his right before hitting him at his left; fist to the collar bone before snapping her elbow across his temple. To finish it off she simply pushed him away from her forcefully. She didn't want to do anymore damage right now, it was his turn.
