If it makes you feel any better, it's because I don't know enough about the subject of this terminology to come out of my "indifferent" state, which if it doesn't have an immediate, pressing need looming over the thread, I tend not to post. sweatdrop It's very simple. The "preppy" style usually consists of khaki pants, a nice pair of shoes, a nice shirt, and a cardigan (sort of like Hogwart's without the robes). Its basis is the uniform of a preparatory academy. If you look, the female even has a school badge on her cardigan.
