arrow About the Gaian Army
The purposes of the Gaian Army are to serve and protect the citizens of Gaia. We are an organization ruled by the head of state (Prime Minister, President, King, or Queen, which ever applies) and the adjoining administrative council (including myself, and other highly ranked officials). We are NOT a policing force, because our duties extend beyond the common law. We are here to prevent hostile intentions on Gaia and the citizens, and not just individuals.

arrow The Gaian Army Vision
The army will consists of People and Readiness. People are the central thing in an army. The army does not defend, train, stay ready, take risks, and sacrifice for Gaia; people do. It is the same people who believe it is most important to remain ready at all time. Ready to do worldwide missions, to defend Gaia, to support policies, and to defeat adversaries that endanger Gaia and our allies.

arrow Code of Conduct

1. When we bear our uniforms. We must be exemplary in our conduct. We respect others, and by our conduct, we will win the respect of others, and not demand it. Differences that may arise between other citizens will be settled in a fair and equitable manner.
   
   
2. We are loyal to the Gaian Army and we take pride in our unit, our uniform, our discipline, our work, our training and ourselves.
   
   
3. We will obey the legal orders and decrees of our superiors at all times, and do what is right morally.
   
   
4. We will not conduct unauthorized operations or actions that are not under the Gaian Army jurisdiction, unless a member of the Administrative Council has sanctioned it. These operations and actions may include such things as attempting to capture or harm suspected criminals, conducting duties that are outside of the Gaian Army's authority, misusing firearms and supplies that are not permitted, etc.
   
   
5. We are courageous but not reckless. We are devoted to duty but not to ourselves. We will guard our weapons as we guard secrets.
   

Report all infractions of the Code of Conduct to a member of the Gaian Army Administrative Council. Silence in response to others improper action implies complicity and acceptance on your part and may lead to your own discipline.

  Established for the growing amount of Gaian Army personnel. If you wish to join the army, please visit the enlistment office before proceeding into the main base.
  
  
• The Gaian Army Barton Watchtower
  Established to survey the outskirts of Barton Town for hostile threats that may approach.
  
  
• Barton Town Outskirts Surveillance Area ((No longer exist))
  Established for the role-playing enthusiasts, the surveillance area covers the vast forest, rocky terrain, and mountain valleys that are beyond the Barton boundaries. The story is constantly changing from every role-play.
  
  
• The Gaian Army Academy for Cadets
  Established for all personnel and Cadets to learn, train, and practice their basic combat skills.
  
  
• Covert Operations RP ((No longer exist))
  Does not relate to actual covert ops. of the GA.
  Established by lucavi for all the dedicated Gaian Army role-players. Special missions with briefings and maps are held every weekend for the participating squads.
  
  
• The Gaian Army Surgical Hospital ((No longer exist))
  Established by Lucifer Ze Headless Teddy to provide medical training and services for injured soldiers and personnel. The Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (M.A.S.H) is the centrepiece of the healing arts and medicines practices for the Gaian Army.
  
  
• The Gaian Army Military Complex
  Established for the general in-base role-plays to cut down on the page count of the actual main base thread. The military complex consists of the general facilities of the Gaia Army Base where the dormitories, guardrooms, and offices are located.

What are the insignias and the hierarchy of the ranks?
To clear up some problems where people address others incorrectly, I have provided a chart of all Gaian Army Ranks and Insignias. Please note that general members will not exceed the rank of Sergeant. The higher ranks are reserved for those who head certain operations and demonstrate great organization or leadership skills.

How do I get promoted?
The commanding officers and/or administrative council members will decide upon each individual?s promotions. Factors that lead to a promotion can include your contributions to the Gaian Army, or your outstanding performance during your duties or a mission that may convince an officer to give you a well-deserved promotion (either in an RP or during a special mission). So basically your level and quality of participation and contribution to the Gaian Army as a whole will determine your rank. Any other factors will develop as GAIA develops and presents other ways in which we can promote enlists.
