Pastela didn't answer, fast asleep in his arms, holding too Woobie a bit, her other fist clenched. Little snores came from her in high pitched sounds.

Woobie looked down and smiled at the sleeping form. "What to do now?" He wasn't sure where her house was, so he sat under a tree and cradled her so she could sleep some more.

Pastela smiled and curled up more in his arms, sound asleep still.
Koorie, Pastela's human caretaker, was frantically looking for the toddler as the other two Pae she cared for slept. Terrible thoughts kept coming to her about what could have happened, and she forced herself to not think of it. Even though she had set permanent camp by the lake, she didn't know much about the creatures that lived in these forests.

Woobie rubbed the girl's back as she slept. He yawned and then slowly he drifted off as well. He hadn't felt so normal in a while and missed his children being this small.

Koorie was walking briskly, making sure that when she left the camp's site, she would be able to see it within a few minutes. She stopped in her tracks, her breath caught, then she slowly let it out, sinking to her knees, a hand on her chest in relief. There, in the tree in front of her, was little Pastela, fast asleep. 'But who is that with her?' She thought, looking at the larger Pae who was cradling the toddler.

Woobie stirred when the perosn came up to them. He opened his eyes seeing the person. "Oh, hi! Are you the caretaker of this cute, pae?" He hoped she wasn't scared by him.

Koorie smiled apologetically. He seemed to be kind enough, and first impressions were important. "Yes, thank you so much for finding her. I hope Pastela didn't cause you too much trouble." Her heart beat was finally slowing back down to normal, and she cast a watchful eye over the lake to where she had the other two sleeping, making sure everything was alright.
"I'm Koorie." She turned her attention back to Woobie, bowing a little.

Woobie stood up and slowly handed the toddler over, "Oh, she really wasn't. I liked meeting her." He smiled, he was going to miss her, and hoped the squirrels would bring a message to see her again soon.
Woobie kissed Pastela's forehead, "By, sweet little girl." He turned to the woman, "If it's ok, I would love to see her again."

Koorie held Pastela's sleeping form tightly to her, thanking the heavens above that she was alright. She smiled to Woobie. "It would be wonderful for you to come visit her. She may be able to learn more from you than she would from me, and I would hate for her to miss out on something from her own culture. If you're by the lake, you're more than welcome to stop by." She pointed across the lack to where she had tied branches together to make a small shelter. "We're camped out over there for now."

Woobie smiled, "That sounds great. I did tell Pastela that if she needs me to tell a squirrel, they'll tell me." Woobie smiled and then patted Pastela's back. "Bye, sweet little one. Nice to meet you!" And with that he flipped up into the trees and disappeared.
