Kumoru nodded to agree with Aylana, keeping his jealousy at Bhel's apparent preference of anyone else to himself. The necromancer tried to tell himself that it was good that the boy at least got along with someone. Cielra was even fairly close to his age, too. Hopefully the young Fa'e would have plenty of friends as he grew up. And his mother, as well.
Bhel set the kitten down as gently as he could manage onto the tiled kitchen floor. Once his hands were free, he rubbed at his nose with his hands where his mother had poked him.

Standing back up she chuckles as she realxes next to Kumoru. Tilting her head she smirks "Green doesn't suit you Kumoru. And before you ask, I learn to read people before I lost my telepathy." nudging him slightly she looks back down at the two little ones.
Cielra purrs sitting there one the floor. Rubbing her nose she looks over at Bhel then back at the two adult. Yawning she lifts her small paws to rub at her eyes carefully.

His cheeks flushing ever so slightly, Kumoru frowned and shrugged, glancing away. He crossed his arms, then uncrossed them as he reached to pick up his teacup again. So he would still have to keep his guard up when she was around, if he did not want her reading him.
Much as the necromancer wished he could just relax around Aylana. It was not like she was a stranger or anything.
"Here, Bhel, let me make your snack for you," he said, turning to the young Fa'e. The mage drained the last of his tea and set the cup on the counter, then walked over to the pantry.
Bhel immediately perked up at the mention of food; he recognized when his guardian was talking about meals or snacks, if nothing else. He followed Kumoru over to the pantry and clung to his leg.

Aylana chuckles as she walks over picking up Cielra. Holding the kitten close she runs her fingers slowly through her fur "I'm surprise Cielra didn't want to sleep sooner." shaking her head she slips out of the kitchen making her way back into the living room.
Taking a seat on the couch she grabs her sweat jacket folding carefully. Laying it down she place Cielra on top of it. Humming she watches the kitten as she moves alittle getting comfortable. This would give Bhel and Kumoru a chance to bond with her out of sight for a few minutes.

"... Bhel, can you let go of me? No food unless I can get to the microwave."
The young bull whined a little.
"Please?"
There was silence from Bhel for a moment, then the sound of rustling cloth.
"Bhel," Kumoru said firmly.
The boy whined again.
Kumoru sighed heavily, then started speaking in his language of magic to cast a spell. A moment later, a glowing magical something flew out of the kitchen and into the living room like a butterfly.
With a clatter of hooves on linoleum, Bhel pursued the thing into the other room, and jumped around in an attempt to catch it between his chubby palms.
As soon as the bull was out of the kitchen, Kumoru clattered around a little to get a dish, then heated Bhel's snack up in the microwave.

Glancing up Aylana chuckles watching her son. With a light chuckle she place the small blanket over Cielra before she moves back towards the kitchen. Carefully moving back towards Kumoru she runs her nails over his shoulder "So are you really that scared of me Kumoru? Because you seem to run when I try to learn about you."
Leaning against the counter she tilts her head watching him as he made Bhel's snack. Just from watching him, she could tell he seem tense around her. She was curious as to why.

"I'm just used to being a very private man, even among mages," the necromancer replied as the microwave beeped. "Somewhere there are people looking for me, and I worry that they may trace me here to Gaia soon, if they have not already."
He took the bowl out of the microwave and peeled the plastic wrap off of the top of it, and stirred the bowl's lightly steaming contents with a spoon. "Bhel, I have your food now if you want it."
The spell had made the glowing thing fade anyway, so Bhel ran back into the kitchen and into Kumoru's leg, wrapping his arms around the mage's knees as he did so. This was accompanied by a cheerful laugh. Kumoru thought he could trick Bhel away from his legs with shiny magic, did he? Well, Bhel could always just do this again!
Kumoru very narrowly avoided dropping the bowl as Bhel plowed into his legs, though he had to grab the edge of the counter to keep from falling down.
"Bhel, don't do that again," he scolded once he had regained his balance. The necromancer held the bowl out of Bhel's reach until he got some eye contact - which hopefully corresponded with understanding - from the boy. Then he handed the young Fa'e his snack, and a blue plastic airplane spoon.

Aylana watches Bhel for a moment before she shook her head "You shouldn't allow people looking for you to stop you from living. You should have fun and enjoy life, because take it from a fa'e, it far to short." falling quiet she for a moment "I know it may sound silly, but three years ago I was nothing but then a baby. Now look at me, a full grown woman." looking back towards him she reaches out running her finger along his cheek.
"If you allow people and teaching to stop you from enjoying life, then whats the point of living?" with a wink she lets her hand drop as she glances up looking back at the living room.
Cielra was still sound asleep, her ears twitch alittle as she heard the voices. Moving her head alittle she hid it under the blanket to block the light from her eyes.

Kumoru closed his eyes and bit his lip as Aylana touched his face. She thought opening up to her was part of living, did she? The necromancer was fairly certain he would quit living with a definite finality if the elders from the Tower of Wings ever caught up with him. Living as he had was living. Kumoru had all the freedom he required to study necromancy, which had not been allowed to him back home.
The spell he had read from before, it was a spell for taking control of corpses, for making them his puppets. Like Kumoru was about to tell her that. Or anyone else.
The loneliness was easy enough to ignore; studying really could only ever be a one-person job, especially with the darker magics. So what was that deep burning feeling whenever Aylana went ahead and touched him?
The bull, calmed visibly by his scolding, sat down on the kitchen floor tiles with the bowl of curried spinach in his lap. He ate slowly and just kind of watched his mother and his guardian, flicking his tail back and forth.

Aylana smiles as she push her hair from her face, placing her hand back on the counter. The more he seem to keep quiet then more she became curious. Turning she stood in front of him "Kumoru, why do you seem so scared of me? Did I do something to have you no longer trust me?" she look at him with worry that she might have done something wrong.
Cielra mews in her sleep as she rolls over. Yawning her ears move once again as she fell back into her deep sleep.

Bhel slurped noisily on his spoon, as though to make the moment of slightly awkward silence stand out even more.
Why was his guardian acting like this around Mommy? Bhel was still not fully sure how he felt about Kumoru, but if he made Mommy sad, he was definitely not cool with that.
The necromancer shook his head. "Nothing. I never said I didn't trust you." He glanced away. "I'm just... not used to being touched, is all. Trained to keep my physical distance from people and all that."

Aylana eyes widen slightly before she shook her head "Sound awful if you ask me. How can one live life not knowing what its like to be held by someone they care for? Kumoru not to sound mean, but your honestly missing out on alot." drawing her finger over his cheek she steps away from him.
Turning she looks at her son arching a brow, she couldn't explain it. But she knew Bhel was upset about her being worried. Shaking her head she kneels down in front of him smiling "Mommy alright hun. No reason to be mad okay?" leaning forward she kisses his forehead.
Cielra open her eyes slowly as she yawns again. Licking at her lips she looks around mewing alittle. At first she wasn't really sure where she was, but she did know she was in her mother's jacket. Purring she sat up arching her back alittle as she carefully clawed at the jacket.

The necromancer grabbed his ponytail and twisted it idly around his hand. He glanced at the ceiling in thought for a moment, then shrugged a little when he finally spoke:
"Oh, I know what it's like. It's just been a long time."
Seeing that Bhel was finished with his snack, the mage bent down to take the bowl from him and put it in the sink. "I was raised to be a sort of diplomat as well as a mage, since I was one of the strongest ones in my class." There was a touch of pride in Kumoru's voice. "Strong as I was, I probably would have had a marriage arranged for me if I hadn't been expelled from the Tower. Even before I left, it wasn't like I never had a relationship with anyone."
He laughed a little. "We were all supposed to resist that sort of thing, but it's impossible after we reach a certain age. They expect us mages to be sort of passionless, but also untouchable. But that isn't to say I never dated any of the other mages in training."
Bhel took the damp paper towel his guardian offered him and wiped his mouth with it. When he went to throw it away, he missed the trash can, but made no move to pick the thing up. Instead he toddled back over to his mother, reaching out to cling to her leg for a while.

Aylana watch her son for a moment then look over towards Cielra seeing her awake. Smiling she look at Kumoru tilting her head slightly "So you were expelled from the tower, yet you still allow it to run your life? I don't know I would do the total oppoisite if I was expelled. Your no longer under thier control. Your free to do as you wish as far as I can see." with a small shrug she attempts to carefully walk towards the livingroom.
Cielra continues to claw at the jacket, she wasn't doing any damage. Glancing up she mews at her mother before she sits there holding her paws out towards her. She was alittle hungry and also just wanted to be held.

Kumoru laughed, with perhaps the faintest chilling tone to the sound. "I have good reason to think they want to kill me. I can't exactly just forget about all the wizards at the Tower." The mage flicked his ponytail back over his shoulder, then tossed his head a little to get the long black hair to hang straight down his back again. "And don't worry, I've been doing as I wish...."
He trailed off, glancing down at the spell book on the counter. "My eyes have always been looking here since I left, though," the necromancer said, reaching out to tap the book's cover. As he picked it up, he glanced back at Aylana, then down to the pages again as he flipped the tome open. "This was the thing I was really not allowed to do. It's what got me kicked out, and it's what I've been doing all the more ever since then."
In spite of his efforts to force himself to look at Aylana again, Kumoru's eyes kept straying to the page of writing. "I just haven't had time to look at women."
Bored by all the grown-up talk, and the lack of attention focused on him, Bhel reached to try to grab Cielra's tail. He was not planning on yanking it or anything, he just kind of hoped she might feel inclined to make a game out of catching it, or something.
