Kyou gave the other man an encouraging smile and stepped forward into the ballroom, to his relief no one looked round and spotted him. They probably hadn't even noticed that he was gone, and he found that thought strangely comforting, as though his talk with Hyde was some wonderfully kept secret.

Hyde returned the smile and waited until Kyou was inside before he shut the door, he wouldn't heal his arms, he jut suffered. As he always did when he did such things, he turned and briskly made his way down the hall, searching for an exit. He tugged his armwarmers off and studied his messily tied bandages, stopping to tie them tighter. he sighed noticing the few blood splats that had leaked through.
'sorry Kyou...I've gotta leave now' he said, noticing the blood on his arm warmers aswell. He tucked them into his pocket and walked at a faster pace down the hall, effectively losing himself in the immense manor. He looked around, searching for a balcony.

Kyou waited by the window for his friend to join him, but after five minutes he began to grow worried. Maybe the other man didn't want to stay with him after all. His face fell at the thought, was he that unpleasant to be with? Or maybe Hyde was more upset about his past that he had let on. He made his way back to the door and peered into the hallway, but the elf was already gone.

Hyde turned and made his way back the way he came, and quickly dodged into the shadows when he noticed Kyou searching for him, he pressed himself flush against the wall, peering past a statue of some kind at Kyou. He didn't want his friend to know he was in pain and trying to leave, he had said he'd stay. But he refused to heal himself.
'just go back inside...' he thought hurriedly, watching as the moon started to illuminate the wall next to his hiding spot, pretty soon his spot would be revealed.

Kyou's eyes searched the hallway for any signs of life, but he saw nothing in the darkness, and it didn't help that his friend was dressed entirely in black.
He was about to give up and return to the party, when the moon shone through the dark clouds in the sky and illuminated the wall to his right. If he looked more closely he thought he could see the outline of a now familiar figure peering from behind an old suit of armour.
"Hyde?" he called out softly and walked further down the hallway.

Hyde silently cursed and let a sigh out, running a hand through his hair as he hurriedly tried to put his arm warmers back on, if Kyou saw him like this then he'd worry and he didn't want Kyou to be down anymore.
"Kyou?" he called back, leaning against the wall and fiddling with his arm warmers still, they just wouldn't go on.
"sorry, I just needed a minute to regain myself" he murmured afterwards.

"What's wrong?" Kyou whispered, his keen senses picking up the faint odour of blood. "Are you hurt?"
He grew frightened now, if Hyde had had an accident in his own house, he'd never forgive himself. Or even worse he could have been seen by one of his father's guards and attacked. Impulsively, he stepped forward clumsily in the darkness and reached for Hyde's hand.

Hyde shook his head, and managed to get one armwarmer on, though it still had spots of blood on the underside.
"i'm fine Kyou, don't worry" Hyde said softly, taking Kyou's hand with his gloved one as he stepped out from behind the statue, he really felt attached to the Seelie. Hyde stood with one arm behind his back, the other grasping Kyou's hand tightly.

Kyou gave the elf's hand a squeeze, he wasn't entirely convinced but he remained quiet. He had long since lost all desire to return to the party.
"Would you like to go outside?" he suggested, his voice barely above a frightened whisper. "No one will notice us leaving, they're all to drunk by now."

Hyde nodded, and gave in, setting a small healing spell on his arms. Not for himself, but for Kyou's peice of mind. He tugged the other arm warmer on. But could do nothing for the blood stains, he'd just have to hope the darkness hid them.
"let's go outside, a bit of fresh air will do us some good" he answered stepping forward so he was next to Kyou, he had no idea when he started to find it okay to hold hands with Kyou for now reason. He'd seen the humans doing it, mainly girls and boys dating. He frowned, a "date" was like a "life partner" or something, he shook it off as being close like good friends.

Kyou felt a little serge of happiness within him when the other man did not let go of his hand. No one had ever held his hand before. Well, Doctor Miyagi had taken his pulse once but that was something else entirely. He had just wanted to measure his heartbeat but now his heart was racing out of control.
"I'm sure you'll like the gardens." he said softly "Even if it is the middle of the night."

"i'm sure I will, as I like your company aswell" Hyde answered happily, letting Kyou lead him along. His heartbeat had gone faster ever since Kyou had touched his hand, and for Hyde, this was something entirely new. He looked around the corridors, they were nice, but seemed a tad gloomy. Not a place he would have thoguht to bring a child up in.

Kyou smiled, and thanked the darkness for hiding the colour that had risen to his cheeks. The corridors loomed above them with unusual shadows that sometimes looked like they were moving. Kyou had very few memories of them as he had been sent away with various tutors and boarding schools for most of his childhood and when he had been at home he had stayed mostly in his room to avoid talking to anyone.
Finally they come out of a side door and down the marble steps onto the main lawn.

When they reached outside, Hyde took a deep breath and smiled, suddenly feeling ten times better than before.
"it's lovely out here Ky" he said happily, turning to look at the Seelie with an adoring gaze.
"it reminds me of the forests Macy used to live in" he added.

Kyou smiled and gripped the elf's hand a little tighter. "This used to be my favourite place when I was little." he said nostalgically. "There was always light here, even when it was raining."
