Zira slept in the family cave. She didn't really know or actually seem to care where her brother was at the moment, for right now, sleep was the only thing she cared about. Yes...sleeeeeeeeeeepy! Sleep was good, nothing bad ever happened during sleep.
However when the racket outside caught her ears, they had to flatten against her skull as her golden, venom filled eye's opened in disdane. Why was there such an ungodly noise around when she chose this time to be lazy? It made her pout quite angrily before she shakily got to her paws and went to the opening of the cave to see what all this commotion was about.
As she walked out into the sunlight, she cursed under her breath. Walking from complete darkness into harsh sunlight had that effect on her and she immediatly looked around before seeing the group of youngsters crowded around her mother. What was up?

The little cub's crimson eyes darted toward her sister when she heard her name, but her attentiont was too focused on the white lioness for her to afford Sarakiva too much of a response. As the story grew to a climax, her eyes widened and she was on the tip of her claws, leaning forward as if to hear the story first. Her ears were pressed forward, tail quivering quietly with intent as she listened. Mouth slightly agape, it was a moment before she whispered in an anxious tone, "Oh no! He can't get away!" It was merely an observation, and her tail suddenly flicked in concern at the trapped elephant, even if she supposed the baby elephant tasted wonderfully and the crocodile was probably so hungry. It was a baby, though, and she was a baby so she felt some empathy for the herbivore.

Green eyes trailed over all the different cubs around him as Nariko was surprised by the diversity. Though, he couldn't miss the set of golden cubs all the way up in the front, who he assumed were siblings. It's a shame that he didn't see any of his siblings here. His ears were perked up as the storyteller continued her story. Feeling a bit bolder than normal, he wanted to hear the story better so he made his way a little closer to the other cubs and sat down. As he was closer to Tai, he softly smiled at the white storyteller before her story weaved imagines in his mind.
The tiny elephant and the crocodile in a tug of war was almost comical to the little cub. A large creature and a water creature. He couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle at Tai's story, the poor elephant, he could almost feel sorry for the elephant. While some cubs talked and mumbled, he was quiet, intent on hearing the story out before saying anything. So, he just flicked his tail slightly with a smile on his features.

Meko was looking around the group intently as Tai told the story, his eyes focused on finding the missing youth but his ears paying more attention to the story. When Tai came to the part about the crocodile, however, his full attention turned to her and the story she was telling. Stupid elephant should know better than to trust a talking log! He listened to the story, hoping that the little elephant wouldn't get eaten- and when Ayato suddenly appeared behind him and put his paw down on his tail he jumped (though not very far with his tail held down).
"Eek!" he squeaked, and immediately knew that was being too loud- and now that he was in the way. With a sheepish smile, he glanced up at Ayato and murmured, "Sorry~" Meko also glanced over at Tai apologetically, and just barely caught sight of another familiar lion. Zira showed up after all! The cub looked from her general direction back to Ayato, wondering if he'd noticed or if they were just going to go back to their spot.

"I know I know..." Kat said quietly, to not interrupt, the story was quite entertaining, but she didn't want to ignore Ai either, that'd be rude, he didn't want to be mean or rude at all, especially if ever in front of Ai's family, that'd turn out bad she was sure. "Just so many you know...I'm fine though, I'll be fine," she confirmed with a nod.
She hoped she got to meet his mother and some of his other siblings one on one, or at least not in as big of a group as this.
Her hazel eyes then focused on Tai again, her ears taking in every word, this was such a nice story tot ell, the cubs all around seemed to be at attention, she never realized how many cubs were running around the pridelands, how many different colors adorned others pelts here. She smiled.
This was quite nice.

Kialio was completely oblivious to anyone around him, watching the white lioness intently. He gasped when she told of how the crocodile grabbed the baby, and hoped silently that he'd be okay. He cheered inwardly for the little elephant, but dared not make a real sound. He didn't want to disrupt Tai, and he smiled brightly up at her, inching forward until he was plastered to the stone Tai was sitting on. His big eyes were watching her with interest, hoping she'd continue the story very soon.

Udhahiri had somehow managed to find the most dusty and difficult route back up to his home at Pride rock. But in all honesty, he didn't mind getting dirty. He'd probably get into trouble from his mother though. As he heaved himself up the last major 'step' on his journey, he spied the vast multidue of lions gathered about his mother. She was talking to them all.
"Oh..no...STORYTIME! And I'm missing it!" he cursed himself before charging over and with no airs or graces, began clambering over cubs to get to the front. Afterall, she was HIS mother.

She couldn't believe it! How COULD they?
Siri scrambled down the trail behind pride rock, her claws scrabbling for purchase on the rocky path. They left her behind! She said she was gonna be right back! It wasn't her fault there had been a pretty flower just a little ways off the path, and then that lizard that wouldn't let her catch it and that butterfly -
Siri skidded around a bend and stopped. Whoa! So many other lions! She hadn't seen half of them before! Man, apparently she had a lot of new friends to make.
But it wasn't too hard to pick out her father's dark purple pelt, or her sister's bright white one. Grinning, she shoved her way through the gathering and flopped breathlessly at their side.
"Found you!" She chirped, a little too loudly. It didn't seem like she'd missed TOO much of the story! The poor elephant, getting his nose bit up like that! She giggled.

-Purring softly, almost a whisper of a reply to the cub, she nodded. Though as the story turned her attention was drawn, and she gasped in a soft reply to the turn of events. Surely the little elephant wouldn't get eaten! Tai wouldn't possibly tell a story like that to the cubs, would she?-
-And while Sara' attention was at first on the story, her worry became mortification as the sound and pressure of another cub barreling through everything touched her senses. And a rather unpleasant pout marred her tiny face, high voice whispering out sharply and firmly.- "Knock it off!"
-Whether she meant the sound, or the attempt to barrel by her sisters and self was unclear, but an unhappy lashing of her tail occured as she stared at the orange and black cub. He couldn't just come along and ruin the story for everyone! Didn't he have ANY manners?-

Amesi took in a sharp breath as she listened to the happenings of the story. She didn't want the elephant to get eaten! He didn't deserve it. He had done nothing wrong! It was his brothers' fault that he was in that position, for they had sent him away on his own and hadn't watched him the entire time.
Bristling with anxiety, the juvenile leaned forward, as if to get more of the story or to hear the story sooner.
Please don't let the elephant get eated, please don't let the elephant get eated! she thought over and over in her head. If she had fingers, they would have been crossed. But instead, she leaned close to Xu, eyes nearly bulging with the suspense.

Two more of the cubs showed up, meaning that now of her litters it was just Tui and Kweu'chaka that were missing. Tai took in the dusty sight of her son as he pushed his way through the group, her eyes widening just a bit, and she gave him a small look. She knew that cubs would be cubs, but somehow Udha managed to always get the dirtiest of all five of them all. Still, she said nothing of it for now, and continued the story.
"They were like for what seemed like hours, pulling back and forth on the poor elephant's nose, but neither side would give up, and someone finally decided to lend him a helping paw... There was a group of baby monkies watching from up in the trees, no older than the baby elephant, and they wanted to help. So the group of them got together and talked some of the adults into helping too, and one by one they all started screeching, jumping down with the biggest ones in front grabbing the elephant by the tail. 'Hold on, we'll pull you out!' They shouted. Now there must've been thirty monkies in that tree, and do you know what happened when they all worked together to get the elephant free from the crocodile's mouth? It was just enough extra weight that the crocodile lost his grip, just like that, and all thirty monkies and the baby elephant went toppling over backwards!"
The white lioness grinned then, accompanying the hero's victory.
"The crocodile knew that he'd missed out on his only chance for dinner that day, 'What a waste of my time!', and he started swimming back down river where he could brood some more over his poor empty stomach... and meanwhile, everyone back on the dry land was checking to make sure everyone was okay. When all the monkies were sure that no one had been hurt or worse, smushed under the baby elephant, they rushed over to him and crowded around to see if he was alright. 'Hey, hey! Are you okay big guy? Say something!' they all cried, but at first the baby elephant didn't move... he felt different, really strange somehow, and he was afraid to open his eyes at first! Then, finally, he opened them up, and gave a great big shout. 'Ah! My nose! What happened to my nose?!'"
Tai lifted her foreleg, bringing it up to her face to imitate the trunk of an elephant, lifting it up for the whole crowd to see.
"Where his little stubby snout used to be was now a long, beautiful trunk! The tug-of-war with the crocodile had stretched his nose so long that he could touch his own back with it now! All of his new friends were happy for him, and the little elephant went back home. When his brothers saw his new trunk they all laughed at first, wondering what on earth happened to his nose. But when he walked right up to that tree, and propped up on his back legs, and he managed to reach the leaves and berries without their help, they all thought it wasn't that funny anymore... in fact, they got jealous! When they asked him how his nose nose had gotten so long, he just grinned, and said: 'Thank you for the advice, brothers, it worked wonders...' And that, children, is how the elephant got his trunk."

Kialio was grinning wide as the story finished, and he giggled happily. He looked up at Tai with admiration and awe in his bright eyes. He wanted so badly to be like her! He wondered if she could teach him her ways, and he knew he had the imagination to become a storyteller like her! He made up stories all the time, and the only other creature he'd told was Safuma.
He turned to his new friend then, looking at her with hope filled, yet worried eyes. "Safu, do you think Tai would teach me about storytelling? I really wanna be like her when I get older!" He said, smiling shyly, a bit bashful at telling her this. His eyes travelled up to the white lioness again, admiring her and smiling bashfully.

Her crimson eyes creased with laughter as the story finished, grinning broadly as her tail flicked the dirt. She would thank Tai later for the wonderful tale, but at the moment she heard Kialio at her side stir and then speak to her.
Meeting his hopeful gaze, she frowned at the worry she saw there before giving him a reassuring swat of her paw, "I'm sure she will, Lio! You should talk to her later, when she comes down and almost everyone's gone." She glanced back up at Tai before focusing her attention once more on the little blue lion infront of her, "I know you could be just like her, Lio, you like making good stories up." She nodded vehemently, "Do you want me to wait around with you?"

Mzuza nodded in agreement to her sister's words. "Lio, you should ask! You'd make a wonderful storyteller. Remember with the clouds?" She added, meaning the first time they'd met and he had been watching the clouds and she had almost scared him into falling off his rock. She grinned. "And then you'd get to tell stories all the time. Like the story of how you almost fell off your rock watching the clouds..." She added in a lower voice, disguising her laughter with a cough.
