tamcharles I've visited HK a while ago and that was a pleasant experience, however... that trip was tarnished by a visit to mainland China. This was perhaps in 1994. Frankly speaking, it was a bad experience. I have no real intentions to revisit China as there is nothing there for me. When I went, it was the lack of proper sanitation that really scared me off. (It was disgusting enough that I couldn't do anything for three days!) *restrains herself from flaming -.-* There are good and bad sides of everything. You mean China has nothing for you? What about your family, friends? Are you really that close-minded? I must admit, yes, the environment of China still needs large improvement. However, dissing your own country like that makes people think you are the same as your country. rolleyes China is disgusting you say? You disgust me, "tamcharles". With both your close-mindedness AND your lack of reason supporting your disliking of something. Quote: Yes, yes... I know much has changed in the recent 10 ten years but still, people haven't even stopped urinating on the street... and in public. Article 1: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2005-09/17/content_478609.htm "Photographs of a child urinating near one of the park's restaurants and four mainland Chinese women resting on the ground barefoot were plastered in the newspapers." What do you mean people haven't stopped urinating on the street? The site that you showed us has never indicated a single date that the picture was taken on. So how do you know its in the 2000s? How do you know if it was back in the 1990s? Also, you have never gone to China ever since 1994, how do you know how China has developed throughout these years? stare At least give some evident "facts" if you want your opinions to be respected. Quote: Article 2: http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/world/archives/2005/09/14/2003271594 "The Ming Pao Daily reported yesterday that Chinese visitors disregarded the park's rules and smoked cigarettes in restaurants and other nonsmoking areas. It ran a photo showing a woman in a Minnie Mouse cap smoking in an open area. The newspaper carried another photograph showing a woman from Guangdong Province helping a young child loosen his trousers to urinate beside a flower bed." More sources: Google News Search on HK Disney Now now, we all know that some Taiwan people tend to disrespect mainland China, ne? Who knows if the article is not biased or not? Also, China is still going through development and improved greatly compared to the old days. In fact, I have just gone back from China this april(I went back for* 10 months), and what I have seen, is completely untrue from the article. I have not yet seen one little child urinate on the street nor do I see people going bare foot and sleeping on the benches in the park. (Construction workers are an exception because they are from the country, not the city)Quote: To be blunt, there are a few things that I thought separated us from the animals obviously there's still much development needed before I'd ever go back. However I would like to visit somewhere civilized like Taiwan, Japan or HK. 3nodding Now, I suggest you go back right now, and see for yourself how China is like, not through some biased internet newspaper. Oh, so only civilized places like Taiwan, Japan and HongKong deserves to be visited by you, and not the disgusting, dirty, not to mention the UNCIVILIZED China. I just need to say that, "tamcharles", you truly put a disgrace to us Chinese people. I take back my suggestion. DON'T, I repeat, DO NOT ever go to China, because seeing how much China "digusts" you, you are not ******** welcomed. talk2hand

It was also reminiscent of my visit to Vietnam in 1997 and how bad it was. Some good, biased stuff going on here. A++ *thumbs up* smile Oh yeh, Lili you're probably right about how good china is now, but the way it's depicted as a country on TV and in the news always makes it seem so much less developed than places in asia like HK. Dunno why, but that's the way I see it.

Especially Chinese people dissing their own country!!!??? That's just sad. Though I'm glad you understand how I feel. ^^

A powerful Sith you will become. twisted Oh it's not too harsh at all. I like to slant my writings to one or the other extreme. Only that way can I tease out the hate, anger, rage inside someone else. You wrote with emotion and intensity (I like that!). When I read your reply and I think it's pretty obvious that you attacked me more so than my arguments. To which, I don't blame you at all! That is acceptable in this case since we're making progress... I can feel your anger. It gives you focus... makes you stronger! 3nodding But right now, I've kinda lost interest in debating this one because it's pretty much just plain unfair PRC-bashing (like you suggested)... that I'll admit to. Now my other thread, now that's where the real goodies are. Anyways, I don't really care either way... I'm just having fun with words. 3nodding You are fulfilling your destiny, Higan. Become my apprentice. Learn to use the dark side of the Force. twisted

The only person who really scares me when she's angry is Bubbleangela (my girlfriend) *points to sig*. But don't worry about it, no apology necessary. I've been getting away with too many insulting/mean/blood-boiling posts in here for far too long now. It's good to have someone new stand up against me. I thrive on conflict. (And if you take a Sociology course in college/uni, you'll understand why I subscribe to the Conflict Theorist mindset.) 3nodding xd

I'm 21 years young just like Mr. ICU Mod himself, wiim. I'm in my last year (hopefully) and I've taken a few upper-year Psychology courses along the way so I kinda know my way around the general field. It sounds like you're more interested in the Social Psychology and Personality Psychology fields right? They're where you learn about peoples reactions, inhibitions and all sorts of other neat stuff. cool Psychology isn't among my double-majors but rather Biology and Environmental Science. Angela (my gf) is the Psychology Specialist, maybe if she wanders back in here you can ask her some questions. 3nodding
