((eh, no worries. heart ))

"That wasn't nessisary, but thank you..." he blinked, wondering exactly to repay the favor. True it seemed a small thing, but even small debts could hang over your shoulder if you weren't careful....
Never the less he took the bubble tea with head tilted look at it's contents. He could appreciate the color, in spite of his taste in clothing he did -enjoy- bright colors, though he tended to retreat to duller shades as though to desaturate his senses.

"it's the least I could do, you did come and talk to me either way" Hyde answered, watching Feroz carefully. He seemed rather comical, holding a brightly coloured drink against his dull shades. Hyde let a chuckle slip past his lips before diverting his gaze elsewhere, settling on watching some people running about.

Hyde probably looked a little odd aswell, his eyes were vibrant but his clothes were black and white. He throughly loved bright colours, just didn't suit wearing them.

"I wasn't aware that it was a notable affair to do so." He chuckled, eyeing the drink again before taking a careful sip. It tasted a little different than an normal strawberry, or at least the one he remembered, but maybe his memory was off. But then again since it tasted sort of candied, perhaps they'd added sugar as well as the 'pearls', which made him jump slightly the first time one of them came up his straw, which undoubtably didn't help the comical look.

"well i'm used to being ignored, so it's nice to have someone new talk to me" Hyde answered, watching Feroz sample the drink. He outright laughed when Feroz jumped, taking the drink away from his mouth and holding his hand over it as his mirth spilled over into pleasant laughter.

He realised it would probably be viewed on as rude, but he really couldn't help it, the Drow looked rather silly just then. The laughter subsided and he gave Feroz a friendly smile, returning the straw to his mouth and drinking another sip, a grin on his face.

Feroz coughed, covering his own mouth with a hand as he adjusted to the surprise of having ended up with an 'egg' up his straw. To be totaly honest it didn't -taste- bad once he thought about it, but he'd nearly inhaled it in surprise and his eyes were watering a big as a result, though Hyde seemed to be getting a kick out of it, which he supposed was fair, as he'd had a good chuckle over the other elf's blush.
"Ahem. Sorry..." He cleared his throat again, and though it was techichly invisible in his complexion, he could feel himself blush somewhat. "I'm actually surprised more people don't talk to you. You're pleasant company." He noted, rather matter of factly in retrospect, but he'd always had a tendensy to be....rather blunt.

Hyde grinned in enjoyment and waved his hand up and down absently, sipping more of his drink and letting a few tapioca pearls travel up his straw. He ate them, finding them quiet nice to eat. He finished that and then took the drink away from his mouth again.

"why thankyou, you're pleasant company aswell, not what I expected from a Drow, the one's i've met looked at me like I was merely a speck of dirt on a newly polished boot" he said, fidding with the straw a little as he let a small sigh out, his eyes down on his drink.

"...We're not a kind or an open race." He admitted, taking another sip of his tea before continuing in the wake of this admission. They were a subtle race yes, though he'd always had the subtlety of an club against an porcelin. Granted he was better than he'd been once, but still...he'd given up on trying to fine hone his own subtleties when it occured to him that he'd reached the height of his ability to accend in Drowish society. It certainly hadn't won him any freinds anyway, like Illiam, who'd left him behind. What had happened with that anyway? Some of the details were a bit fuzzy. His introspection admittedly lost some of it's dour visual edge to playing with the 'pearls', which he ate as soon as he realized he was doing it. "But then I do rather poorly as an example of drowdom, so perhaps I am a poor yardstick. I came from a lowborn house, and went as far as I could, then stopped bothering to try I suppose, being content in my lot then. This makes me a very very poor drow, but one who does understand being the dirt on a boot." He twisted up the corners of his mouth in a very thin smile at this, swirling the contents of the cup to watch the Tapioca pearls move. Entertaining stuff....

"I don't have a house...I mean...I was born into one....a small group of travelling entertainers, but I was born a twin, and they viewed twins as something akin to ying and yang..I got chosen as the evil twin....they kept me around as a servant of sorts...it wasn't pleasant and then I was sold off to an old Fae healer, he taught me everything I know. He died a few years after I came into his care and then I wound up in the Goblin Court as a playmate for the Goblin KIng's adopted son" Hyde explained, Feroz had told his past so Hyde told his own. It ddin't haunt him, all that mich anyway, and he found that telling his friends made the burden easier to bear.

"I think you are a wonderful drow, we can't all be born with a high head and a tendency to think of ones self as important" Hyde commented, flicking his straw before sipping his drink again. They must have looked rather odd, two men--of questionable physical appearance--drinking pink drinks with serious expressions.

"I'm sorry they chose that way, it must have been rough..." And surprisingly not unparallel to what he suspected would have happened to Hyde amoung the Drow, save that instead of being kept as a servant there was a chance he would have been sacrificed to gain the favor of the goddess, although being male ensured an servant like status never the less, unless you proved yourself adept enough at your skills to become something more. It was surprising to find such parallel to a species he'd been told a thousand times was inferior and alien. Could it be the two races were, in some regards, far more similar than they would care to admit?
"Although being a playmate sounds like it at least had an oportunity to be more pleasent than enforced servatude...?"
Or it could have been much worse, he imagined, not knowing how this goblin child might have acted.
"Hmph. I should be careful listening to you, enforcing my horendously undrowish behavior." He added, though this was with a wink, to offset the somewhat gruff, joking tone.

"the child was not a goblin...he was a Unigon, the son of Lord Murdoth of the Dragon Generals and Lady Shiayla, one of the three surviving Unicorn Preistesses" Hyde explained, and couldn't help a small short laugh escape his lips at Feroz's wink. He looked rather rougish and fliratious doing that.

"it was fun, he is now my best friend" Hyde added on a side note, knowing Goblins didn't have the best reputations. He ran a hand through his crimson hair, making it more messy than usual and shifted his cup of bubble tea from his left hand to his right.

"A halfbreed?" Feroz's tone is perhaps a bit more startled than he would have intended. The drow being as insular as they were, mixed breeding was almost as horrific as talking to an surface elf, and in any case, the cross between a unicorn and a dragon? How on earth would such a breeding happen without killing the mother? Shapeshifters perhaps, but still....what an combination. "That didn't sound right, it's just hard to picture..." He admitted, waving a hand to try and dismiss his earlier tone, though his expression was still baffled and startled. "He must have been a good freind then, quite a fortuitous turn of events for you then?"
PostPosted: Sat Apr 07, 2007 7:14 am

"yes, his father was murdered by the dragon race and his mother...is currently being kept in Unseelie Court by law...she's quite powerful and influental so she's being kept alive...the Goblin King was chosen by her as Macy's adopted father" Hyde explained, taking a few huge sips from his bubble tea. He motioned for Feroz to follow, a stroll sounded nice to him.

"..he is a very good friend, always kind to me, surely you have a good friend?" he asked politely, understanding why Feroz was baffled and shocked by Macy's lineage.

Feroz followed at Hyde's gesture, taking a sip of tea and tapping the straw against his chin in an moment of silent thought as they walked. A good freind?
Good freind.....
There had been an number of people he had found pleasent enough amoung the drow...if you handled them correctly. Any drow could be pleasent if they got what they wanted....but there was an element missing in that equasion.
He'd trusted Illiam....until he'd started acting particularly strange...and then he hadn't seen him since. For all he knew Illiam was back in the underdark...or dead. And 'Kind' was sort of a debatable term as far as the tiny, firey assassin went.
Could you be rude and kind at the same time? He'd always had a mouth like an punted dwarf.
"....I'm not sure."
PostPosted: Sun Apr 08, 2007 5:44 am

"oh? well I guess with the drow as they are...it must be hard to find someone to totally trust huh??" Hyde answered, turning his attention to Feroz as he fell into a pace that matched the drow's. The day was nice and sunny, but the sun slipped behind a few clouds, painting the white things a golden orange.

Hyde could trust the doctors, Kyou, Macy and maybe even Jareth to some extent. He wished nothing but happiness for each of them. Even if they all had turns at annoying him--excluding Kyou, who was still a tad too shy to do so-- he sipped his drink and smiled.
    "well we are acquianted"

"....It should sumarize nicely to use a phrase from one of the women I used to know. "Trust is for the Weak." He answered, turning one hand palm up in explination, and sighing in quiet releif as the brillaint sun slipped beind a cover of clouds. "I suppose you're right though, so far I've yet to see a reason -not- to trust you."
Though maybe he'd been failed before by being too trusting...but it went against something inside him to avoid trusting people...or it seemed to. Otherwise would he have to remind himself so often to be cautious?
