zach61092 When did she tell him to get over Lana? She hasn't said it explicitly, but she has dropped little nuggets like "give the Lana thing some time". zach61092 She obviously especially doesn't like Lex now because he was responsible for her kidnapping. She knew about 33.1 and Lex's dealings in meteor freaks before Freak. If she really thought that Lex was a "monster" and Lana shouldn't marry him she should have made more of a stand, like, for instance, refusing to be her maid of honour thereby endorsing the preceedings. I'm not saying that Chloe's a bad friend or that she's wishy-washy or passive-aggressive; I'm saying the writers can't make up their minds, and it's making Chloe look bad. And it doesn't make sense. zach61092 Lana hated Clark because he didn't tell her his secret. No, she hated him because he has been prepared to lie to her for six years straight. She didn't hate him for having a secret, she hated him because he ******** her about. He pursued her for years and then when he finally got her in a relationship he wasn't prepared to be open. And he'd rather lie to her about his feelings than tackle the problem head on. There's a metaphor about cake that involves having and eating that I already squandered on the writers, but it fits perfectly here and really, it only applies to Clark because it applies to the writers. zach61092 But then she found out and it made sense. No, it really didn't. How many times has Lana told Clark it would be okay if he were a meteor freak, if he had powers, if he were different? If I were Lana, here's what I'd be thinking: "I just found out what I already thought, and he didn't tell me, so nothing has really changed." Bottom line: the writers of this show need to stop sacrificing good or at least sensical writing just for the sake of melodrama, needless angst and the ressurection of a ship that should have played out properly, but didn't, and never got wrapped up properly either. That was so therapeutic.

It is despicable how after the very very long history that Clark and Lana have been through that Lana would just leave Lex after finding out Clark's secret. I mean he didn't tell you, you had to find out on your own. After all of that, she decides to leave him by telling him IN A LETTER! Sure, Lex isn't the best guy, but he loves you, the least you owe him is a face to face apology.

zach61092 Once she found out, she thought it was to protect her as she said in Promise. Not a justification. In fact, it's quite insulting. SaberFireTiger After all of that, she decides to leave him by telling him IN A LETTER! "Dear John Lex..." Has Lana ever broken up with someone face-to-face, though? I mean, she sent a video to Whitney and the rest just... died. Pretty telling that she can't even give people a decent break-up.

When he left her? I guess you could take it as insulting...But you can take it as a justification too.

zach61092 Wasn't it Whitney that pretty much broke up with her? When he left her? Mmm, fair point. It's particularly damning about Lex, though. zach61092 I guess you could take it as insulting...But you can take it as a justification too. For six years? No. If he were determined to protect her he'd actually distance himself from her; he didn't do that, and he didn't tell her either. It's not a justification.

Foetus In Fetu Trraaaiiiinwreckkk. clueless-in-the-forest the whole time i just wanted to fling myself at clark and hug him and let him cry gonk poor boy heart Still wanna punch him in the face. oh, i definately feel that way too. "Lana, I can't let you go through with this" rolleyes What a load of CRAP! The boy has had EVERY chance in the world to tell her his freakin secret and, of all days, he tries to tell her on her wedding day? What would have been even more ironic is if he really had gotten to propose to her that day. What a great story to tell the kids: "Oh yeah, your mother and I got engaged on the day she was going to get married to someone else." But I did think it was cool how lana duped Chloe and Clark so that she could find out Clark's secret. I really didn't see that coming. surprised

Lex is a desperate man. Trying to hold on the last bit of happiness he can salvage. Since he is a fighter, he isn't going to be blackmailed or threatened especially when it comes to Lana. She is all that he has. He would give up everything for her. What about Lana? Ha. The amount of love she has for Lex could fit in that blue box with the white bow. She basically used him. Done with her Klee-Lex and in the trash it goes.

I think a lot of us are forgetting what exactly happened to Lana less than 24 hours after Clark told her his secret.
He knows she'd be in constant danger, but in this episode figured she'd be safer with him than marrying Lex.
Still though... lame.

He somehow thinks this time will be different. But will it? Let's take a turn on the "what if?" ride.
So, Lana leaves to go off with Clark. What happens now? Lex will find Lana one way or another in his rage and/or sadness to see that it is because of Clark. Then he will know that Clark must have told her because why else would Lana return to Clark and break off the wedding? This will send her running and probably face to face with asphault.
And another thing, you two can't have sex!
