Ashley the Bee I wonder about the Underworld. In Christianity, there's the idea of Heaven. In Kemetic beliefs, from what I understand of them at least, the afterlife is very similar to life. One works, meets people, etc... When I read about underworld, it seems so... dreary? I dunno... ^^; Depends on what you do in life. THere are several areas of the underworld, including Hades, Tartarus, and some other areas that you can start with here. =D

What she said! It's important to note that while the melencholy of the underworld was the predominate view, it was hardly the only.
Me? I'm okay with the dreary place, but I don't really think about death that much. He who recieves will claim us all someday and somehow.

Interesting thought.
When you die (how very morbid sad ), will you ask a friend or relative to leave a coin about your person as payment for charon?

patch99329 Interesting thought. When you die (how very morbid sad ), will you ask a friend or relative to leave a coin about your person as payment for charon? I'm kind of at odds with that. I want my body to be stripped of useful parts for others, and I don't belive in burial, its a waste of land. :/

I played with that idea as well for my own remains.

It took me a while, but I finally converted a picture of an olive branch into a cross stitch pattern. If anyone needs a bigger picture of the pattern, I've drawn it out onto graph paper, and I'll be happy to scan those in as well.

Aaaand, there it is. I have posted the pattern, and now, I must show the finished product. And now, off it goes, onto my altar....as soon as I clean it up, and purify it.
