Tatsuya_Kawajiri Jae Sung Personally what types of styles would you guys say are well rounded and not full of crap? Dog fighting. It's well rounded in that it provides me with money, entertainment, and friends! It's like .... got all the bases covered. Michael Vick whole-heartedly supports this comment.

I agree you shouldn't bash other forms, A part of being a "master" or "black belt" whatever you are is to have respect and be humble with your own form.

And that leaves what? You really need to learn to be quiet and pay attention, you have not studied these arts, you have not studied the varyied sub-styles that every single one entails. Use these outlets as a way to learn about arts and the people who prefer them, if you cant see that, then why are you here?

I have seen some fairly impressive wing chun practitioners. But I've also seen some truly ******** dire wing chun practitioners. The dire ones out number the decent ones by a lot

DarklingGlory I have seen some fairly impressive wing chun practitioners. But I've also seen some truly ******** dire wing chun practitioners. The dire ones out number the decent ones by a lot When an art on average churns out more trash students than good students, then one begins to question the art and how it is (assuming it is) inferior or flawed in some way, whether it be its teaching methodologies, politics, training, etc. Many think Wing Chun's center line philosophy, impractical chin-na practice, and lack of full contact sparring as a key explanation to the inferior quality.

Its not really fair to say that Wing Chun is at fault, why not the people? Look at all the strong fighters to come out of the art over all this time.

Herr Grimm Its not really fair to say that Wing Chun is at fault, why not the people? Look at all the strong fighters to come out of the art over all this time. And look at all the mediocre and crummy fighters as well. Yeah yeah, back under the ol' "it's the fighters not the style" argument if you want to puss out. Yet what molds fighters? The training methods a style/school employs. If the teaching is flawed, the student will most likely suffer the consequences of inferior teaching.

Most japanese styles black belt first degree is called Okuiri meaning introduction to secretes. So what black belt means is your a higher grade of looser. ^^ By the way your styles all suck unless your kicking puppies or human babies its all good for that. Soccer anyone?
