Koara couldn't help it. She burst into peels of laughter, which sounded more like light-hearted barking. It was a moment before she could speak again. "You know naught of the delicate ears of a rabbit, a horse, or a lemur. You play your music for elven ears, which are far less sensitive. My song is for the beast, and therefore I sing softly, in a melody that I have learned is soothing such creatures. If a lemur with hearing more than ten times more sensitive than a human's is not bothered by my song, I doubt that our friend will experience any discomfort from it. If she does, I shall stop. If not, perhaps you should listen to the earth around you, the songs of the beasts. Be silent for a moment, and hear their cry. Perhaps you shall learn something."

Linwe sighed, raising his eyes to the heaven. "And just as much as I could never understand our friend, neither could she understand the bard's soul," he pointed out. "Do not worry. I will take care of myself and my own. A bard is no use in a group like this, it seems, where everyone is up in arms about my songs, about my lute, and about any other form of my music. As I said before, I ought to be getting back to the temple then, where I will not be forced into a spot where I feel like my soul is about to burst because you give me no creative outlet." He shrugged, tossing back his bag back over his shoulder. "No, a bard is at home no matter where the road. I will travel a bit, but I will surely not miss what you must see as pointless bickering over a trivial subject. And perhaps, perhaps that is why I'm feeling like I cannot stay."
(( Frickin' control freak. But he's right. We're at an impasse. You don't ask a world-class pianist to stop playing for any amount of funds. No one would live the life of a bard if that wasn't their calling. On another note, Linwe's starting to feel a little apprehensive from Koara again. He didn't like her in the first place. ))

((Geeze people, I'm gone for one weekend and the whole RP falls apart? What's up with everyone wanting to "have their way" and not compromising? When you RP it should be to move forward and get on with the story, not hold it back and stop it from growing.
@ Deilann - Mercey~has~no~style never said that she didn't want you to stop singing, that's why she didn't protest to KiraVaran's singing. Mercey~has~no~style was reffering to your stringed instrument.
@ Mercey~has~no~style - Speaking of compromising, I'm not going to force you to make your character find a compromise with Deilann's character, but I want you to. Allow him to play the lute or sing, HE'S A BARD, it's what he does.
@ KiraVaran - Wait, I don't know why I added you here, I have nothing to say that's important. ^^
Alright, so now that I've said all that, I want you all to think about what I said, and make a change. Then hopefully we can put this all behind us.

After watching them argue over the topic, Clarence finally stepped in and spoke his mind. He held off becuase he wanted to see how the different personalities connected, or rather, didn't connect so far in this situation.
"Alright, that's enough. Look everyone, I will not allow this conversation to carry on any longer. And I certainly won't allow this negative energy to continue for the rest of our journey."
"Viren, we are not here to cater to you, there must be something that doesn't bother you, some form of music that Linwe can play that just so happens to not bother you. Weither it be song, or another instrument."
"Linwe, Viren, and Koara, I want you all to shake hands, and resolve this situation right now. And I don't want to even think I felt any form or resentment from any of you again. Understood?"
((As you can see, the color is over when it comes to posting a post. You can still use color if you want to, but you must now use " " when your character is talking. And as for thinking, you must do soemthing like,
"Clarence thought to himself that maybe this wasn't such a bad idea to take them along for the ride."
Does that all make sence?))

(( I wasn't sure how to handle the situation, so I waited for Sage to post until I did.))
Derrik heard what Clarence had said and took it to heart, he was right; They should be wanting to try to get along, not find reasons to not get along. He gathered the bravery to speak durring the heated moment.
"If I may make a suggestion? It's just an idea, nothing more. Perhapse since Viren isn't riding a horse, maybe she could be allowed to follow either ahead of us, out of direct ears reach? In case there really is nothing that she can stand from out Bard. It's only an idea."
In his thoughts Derrik spoke to himself with an uneasy voice. "I hope they don't totally knock my idea out of the park, even if they don't like it, I just hope they easily say no, I don't want to seem foolish to them."

((I actually did the same thing, I wanted to wait for Sage to post. ^^ heart ))
Teytay stepped into the conversation finally after waiting for Clarence to speak. She knew what she wanted to say and she knew what she would do if she were the leader, but since she wasn't she was willing to wait to see what Clarence would decide to do. At the same time, she wanted to put her two cents in.
"Derrik, I think that the idea is possible. Not my first choice, but possible. I'd rather hope to see that maybe Viren can stand certian types of our Bards music, and that she will be able to stay with the group. I think she'd be a good lookout way up front, but I'd rather her be here with us."
"But Clarence, what do you think?"

Clarence looked at both Derrik and Teytay as they spoke one after the other. He listened to what they had to say and thought over all that had been proposed by himself and Derrik.
I agree with Teytay. But First I want to her honestly from Viren first.
"Viren, please allow Linwe to make all the sounds he can make, and then tell us if there are any that you can stand. His protection he can provide us is very helpful, and it works for our cause. I don't want to send you up front so far away, but if it's for the better of the travelers, I will."
"So please Linwe, play us all that you can, the different forms, and we'll see if Viren can cope with any of them."

(( Actually, he offered to use a flute and to sing, and she continued to say that any music would bother her. The RP hadn't fallen apart at all in my opinion. We're not all going to get along like good school children right at the start, especially with Linwe in the group. Oh, and my OOC comment above was about Linwe, my character, just in case anyone was getting confused. ))
Oh, the negative energy. He simply had a passive, yet dreamy look on his face, glancing over at the other two. Viren would not be the major problem for him in the group, he sensed again. It would be Koara. She already didn't like him, and if he were her, he would start looking for small things to find wrong with him...
Shake hands. That was the last thing he wanted to do. But a follower of Sehanine would have no issue shaking hands, especially on such a paltry manner. "Had it been anything but my craft," he said in a drafty voice, extending his hand, "I would never have allowed myself to get so heated."
He had learned quite a bit from the interaction, quite a bit indeed, especially how Teytay and Derrik responded. He waited, however for Viren to respond to Clarence before touching any of his instruments, still holding his hand out to shake, placing a dreamy smile on his face.

((Sorry, I hadn't picked up on that. I thought she just had a problem with the lute.))
Koara sighed once more. She had not been bickering or becoming 'heated', at least she had not meant to. She made a mental note to be more careful around these people. They took offense to the smallest things! Still, she turned her horse, seemingly without any motion on her own part, and brought it alongside Linwe's steed. With a soft smile, she held out her hand for him to take.
"My apologies." She said, nodding her head in a small sort of bow.

((Sorry dear fellow role-player. I do not believe I picked up on that tid bit about the singing. I shall try to fix me charries faults… eventually… >__> ))
Viren bowed, “As you wish Sahib,” She responded humbly. She walked over to the bard, stretched out a well-worn hand, ready to “shake” his as Clarence has said. “Singing will not disrupt my ears… my apologies for not understanding clearly, please, do as they suggested and let us see what I can stand,” Viren meekly stood waiting. She hadn’t meant to cause trouble, but it seemed her sharp tongue had gotten the better of her this time.
((Sage: I mentioned "going away" for a week... does that help solve the problem of the so called "dieing" board?))

Clarence watched them shake and make up and he was pleased. He now waited to see if Viren would be able to enjoy Linwe's music in some other form; his fingers were 'crossed' so to speak.
Clarence thought to himself as he waited to see what would happen. "If this doesn't work then we may never be able to get on with our journey, daylight as already past, and I fear that maybe we'll have to wait till tomorrow to head out. I can't let that happen, what would everyone think? I have a reputation to uphold, including my own. The people of the caravan would think much less of me and the family if I am not able to get us on the road. It really amazes me sometimes how so many differences can be found between different cultures." His thoughts kept going through his head, and he knew what he would do if things didn't work out.

Derrik was releaved to see that so far things seemed to be getting better, and he was finally not nervous anymore.
"Perhapse we can get along after all." He thought. As he pondered that idea, more came to his mind. "What was said by Linwe gives me confidence that he doesn't want to leave, and that he wants to be here just as much as any of us do. And I can see now that he wants to make peace, so I hope that Viren can stand his music, because she too wants peace. They have shaken hands, and all is better now. With a little time between us, the nerves will cool down, and all will be better."
As this idea went through Derrik's head, it made him feel at ease.

"They didn't make him our leader for no reason, he knows how to handel situations very well. And he's always been able to do that. When we were younger, we'd play in the fields, with the rest of the cousins and kids our age that lived in the castle. When fights would break out, he's always know what to do." The memories floated around in Teytay's head, reminding her of her childhood as she thought the words to herself.
A smile formed on her face, and just as soon as it came, it went away as her sences came back to the situation at hand. She saw the hands shake, and that meant that they were willing to get along.

Placing his lute aside, Linwe pulled out his fife, running his fingers over the holes. It was a quiet thing, better for fireside stories and lullabies than aggravating the spirits. He blew against the hole lightly, rubbing on the holes again, apparently trying to make sure it was in tune and not so dusty.
Closing his eyes, he placed his mouth to the piece, starting a low sweet note, though it warbled with the tremor in his soul. He ran up the scales, opening his eyes just barely to view Viren. It was difficult to tear himself away from the instrument, but he managed to put it back, looping it on his belt. "I have my fife, my lute, my half-penny pipes, and my voice. I'd have to say my fife is the most gentle."
Waiting for the Viera's response, he turned to Clarence. "It's truly risky to travel at night in these days, with the bandits, but it will also be risky sitting in the dark. At least on the move we are not a sitting target. We all have our own abilities to fend these bandits off, but it would be better if instead, we tried to avoid them entirely."
