So much was going on so very quickly, voices and movement and high emotion. She stood back quietly and politely - if she added her voice and movement things might just muddle further. When Alex brought up the subject of food she blinked, looking up.

"O-Oh yes.. ah..." She hadn't thought of food. "I-I uhm..."

The small Gwee that had been curled in Alex's careful grip the whole time finally decided she'd had enough of the jerky motions, wriggling out between her fingers and fluttering with only slight struggle back toward Chloe, who was decidedly more still and smelt pleasent.

The little dragonette managed to reach Chloe and chose to land on the bright pink hair. She immediatly curled up, digging in her claws only a little to get some grip.

Chloe winced, suddenly standing very straight and still, eyes widening.

Roux broke his gaze from the horizon to watch as Rivener scooped at the snow. He wrinkled his nose.. he'd never actually... touched it before. He frowned, floating closer to the other and 'knelt' near him, reaching out to lightly touch the mound that Rivener had been trying to create.

He paused, blinking, before letting his fingers sink into it to the first knuckle, a small smile alightning over his lips.

Aphismet smiled as he snagged his little brother, the youth stumbling into him. Aph promptly propped a crutch under the younger one's arm, waiting until he had his balance before letting go and handing over the other crutch. He grinned mischeviously at Isi. "I know, I know, you're a ray of sunshine," he teased.

Aph then turned at the question about food. He was just in time to spot the little dragonet flitter over to Chloe's head and plop itself down on the soft pink nest. Aphi couldn't help but laugh. That might very well have been one of the cutest things ever.

"Erm, lunch," he said, doing his best to keep the subject going. "I think just sandwiches would be good! The park isn't far; I'm pretty sure the picnic tables must be dry enough to eat on... Is it alright if Eiry and Isi come along, Alex?" Aph asked, suddenly concerned that this large group of people might be bad to have around the baby Gwee.

Rivener smiled as he saw Roux's expression, but he himself quickly removed his fingers from the snow. He tucked his hands under his arms, and straightened. He'd been shocked at how quickly the snow could sap the warmth out of him... Not as quickly as that time in the ocean water, but it was still very quick. At this rate, he'd need to go sit on the kiosk and absorb the warm sunlight for a while.

"It's very cold," Riv said. "I thought you would like it." A smile of his own. He didn't, for some reason, want to tell Roux about his own weakness to the element. He had the strange impression that it might insult Roux, or perhaps even worse: cause Rivener to lower in the others' esteem. Instead Riv simply floated nearby and looked casual, as though he simply chose to leave the snow for the other's enjoyment.

"I am, so just stop being jealous of my radiant personality, big brother," Isi muttered, fixing the crutches onto his arms and slipping the holds around his wrists so he could lean on one crutch and dust himself off with his free hand. He still had a lot of twigs and dirt on him. Isi didn't like to admit this either, but he was sort of a clean freak thanks to Old Maasi. Frowning at the multitude of cuts, the boy glanced up at the sound of food. The mere mention of lunch washed away most of Isi's ill attitude and he sparked up immediately, "Lunch? Picnic?"

The boy quickly forgot about the sticks poking out of his hair.

While the humaniods talked with one another, Eiry had wandered off, being the curious mischievious frei that he was. He was looking for his brother, Rivener. He had seen them go around a corner somewhere...OH! They they were! Rivener and Roux were in the shadow of the building. Riv had just floated back up and Roux was near the ground, caressing the snow. Reaching into his little backpack purse he carried around with him everywhere (which he used to hold a number of items that he insisted to bring with him outside), he grasped his hand around an object. In that little sea-green backpack, he carried what he thought was the absolute necessities to bring with him on any outdoor adventure. For example, he carried a mirror to deflect the flashs of light from Riv's camera. Eiry was convinced that the mirror could save his soul from being taken.

Floating up behind Rivener, the wispy frei smiled happily, glad to be with other raevans. Nudging into his brother and rubbing his cheek against his shoulder, Eiry bubbled, "Nii-san! Nii-san! H-he...Hello...Halloa, pretty blue friend...Nii-san! Look what I've got!"

Alex started to laugh at the exchange between Aphismet and Isi, almost finding it hard to believe they weren't really related. The younger ones' response had reminded her forcefully of herself as a child. She was just getting herself under control when the small Gwee flew over to Chloe, plopping unceremoniously on the receptionist's head; Alex had to cover her mouth to keep from laughing harder. She didn't want to be rude, but between the boy, the bush, and the Gwee, it was almost too much. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time she had enjoyed herself with other people.

Using her now Gwee-less hand to wipe her eyes, the woman shook her head, grinning at Aphismet and Isi. "Of course he's welcome to come! I like the way he thinks. Is there a good place for sandwiches around here? Let me know what everyone likes and--" Her eyebrows raised suddenly in question, "What on Gaia do Raevans eat?" She cupped her chin between her index finger and thumb, looking at the three owners curiously. Her green eyes settled on Chloe and her totem of Gwees, a soft smile curving her lips. It made her feel peaceful that the small one had taken to the pink-haired woman.

Lorenzo was still looking for the source of the baritone when the smaller dragon passed over him, nesting in Chloe's hair. Having completely forgotten about the mystery singing, the larger Gwee tilted his head back, pressing his nose against Chloe's chin in the process. He uttered a light purr in question, not entirely sure how he ended up in that position, blinking his huge eyes with puzzlement.

Chloe stood awkwardly, trying hard not to lift her head as Lorenzo pressed his little nose against her chin. She bite her lips and closed her eyes in an ernest attempt not to laugh at the light tickling feel.

"O-Oh... Raevens.. th-they can eat whatever they like..." She risked opening her eyes to look at Alex as she spoke, deciding it'd be rude if she didn't. Lightly she stroked her thumb down along Lorenzo's back as she spoke. "A-Ah... Roux enjoys colder foods. And Raevens really get their sustanence from things relating to th-their essences." She glanced around carefully to make sure none of the Raevens were around. It was just... impolite to speak of the essences and souls that made up the beautiful creatures when they were around.

"Roux absorbs ice and snow... Vyn the shadows.... Lazarus flame. It's probably more satisfying to them right now than actual food." She gave a small ironic smile. "Though Roux w-w-would make you think o-otherwise..."

Roux looked up sharply as he heard the new voice, eyes narrowing to thin, icy slits. He recognized this Raeven vaugly... this was the one Rivener had spoken of while at the Partie D'Amour. He'd told himself that he wouldn't really care but when Eiry started rubbing his cheek against Rivener's shoulder.

Roux floated up straight, wings flairing (and causing a few more feathers to fall whispily to the ground). He clenched his hands into fists and gave a low hiss through his teeth. He'd just gotten content again when this new Frei had interupted them.

Aphismet smiled and nodded. "Rivener likes to eat regular food a lot. He just enjoys the taste, I think. He likes montreal smoked meat sandwiches best, like me. I-if we can go to just a normal grocery store and buy the bread and meat and whatnot, I wouldn't mind making us the sandwiches!" Aph was already looking forward to the lunch; he was suddenly very hungry.

Rivener blinked in concern as Eiry found them. Eiry would probably end up getting himself in trouble, seeing how Roux reacted to his presence. However, Riv knew he couldn't be rude and dismissive to his little brother. Sighing, Riv reached over and petted Eiry's hair. "What is it? A mirror? Why are you carrying that around?"

Trying to change the subject, and hoping Eiry wouldn't say anything to upset Roux, Riv decided he would introduce the two officially. "Eiry, this is Roux. He's a very good friend of mine. Roux, this is my little brother Eiridesceol. He's very new to this world, so go easy on him, okay?"

Riv couldn't help but worry a little. He didn't want either of these two to be upset, but the most likely wouldn't mesh well together. Riv could always hope, though.

Thinking, Isi remembered something and he muttered, "I think Eiry eats...death or something like that. He hasn't yet eaten real food. I thought we weren't supposed to give them real food because they don't have stomachs with which to digest or something like that. Lunch is beginning to sound good..."

"EirDIRsceol it is, Riv," Eiry corrected. No one but Isi had been able to pronounce his name right so far, "Yeah! A mirror! When you take a picture, I can make sure you don't take my soul when you try d take pictures of me, yes, that is, right it is."

Rubbing his head into his brother's hand as he was pet, the minty frei cast a wary glance at Roux. He had met the icy frei once or twice before. There was the time at the lab when he didn't have a family and a time after that. When the icy frei gave him that piercing icy glare, Eiry pushed himself behind his brother a bit, just in case anything happened. When nothing happened, Eiry came out a bit and tried to move forward and reach his hand out like Isi had told him to do when meeting new people. "Roux?"

"Sounds great!" Alex grinned, nodding enthusiastically. "If one or all of you want to come to the store, I have room in my truck," she jerked her thumb over her shoulder towards the side of the building, "but I'm not sure where to go so I'll need at least one of you. That way we can get the groceries and get back." She moved her hand to her chin, touching her bottom lip thoughtfully. "So, Roux eats cold things, like ice cream," she looked to Chloe, lifting her eyebrows in question, "Rivener likes meat," her gaze moved to Aphismet, "and Eiry eats...death." Her eyes rested on Isi, her smile quirking coyly. "I'm not sure they sell that, but we'll see what we can do. Even if they can't eat a lot, I don't want to leave them out of our picnic."

Lorenzo lowered his head with a quiet chittering noise. Ooh, but he loved to have his back scritched. And his chin. And his head. Really, he just liked to be petted and scratched. Chloe smelled good, and she was so soft, and she was giving him attention. Food wasn't his biggest concern at this point in time, which was remarkable given his love of eating, namely sweets!

Roux eyed the other Frei critically, tilting his chin upward so he could look down at him, he floated higher than the minty Raeven. The way this one moved.. it's nervous actions.. only one other had made him think of such a thing before and that had been Pasha.

Eiry, to a bit of Roux's confusion, was labled almost immediatly in his mind as...

...prey.

A slow smile crept across Roux's lips, eyes narrowing in mock happiness. He extended a hand to Eiry, palm outward. Perhaps... perhaps he wouldn't banish this compition away so quickly. He'd have a little fun, first. Besides... he'd always have Rivener's attention, of that he was positive. Who would want to leave someone like himself, there surely was no one more beautiful and graceful than he.

"Okay."

Chloe carefully wobbled over towards the others, gingerly holding Lorenzo out to his rightful owner in hopes she'd take him. Chloe loved the little dragonette but for the moment she didn't want to dislodge the tiny one from her head.

"A-Ah.... th-there's.. there's a store near here w-were we could get some lunch meats and bread... m-maybe some peanut butter.. a-ah.." She timidly reached a hand up toward the little Gwee on her head, very lightly feeling for her with an extended finger. She ended up prodding the little creature at the base of the tail, producing a small, indignant sounding huff. An awkward smile spread over Chloe's features as she told herself again that the Gwee was now her's to take care of. "I can stay b-behind if it'd be easier.. I don't.. d-don't want to be a trouble."

Aphismet giggled at Chloe's actions, she was walking like a lady with plates on her head, training for finishing school. The little baby Gwee certainly looked like she enjoyed her new perch! "I'll go with you, Alex. I wouldn't want Chloe to try to get into your truck, the little dragon will have to move. Isi, you don't mind staying here and keeping Chloe company, do you?" Aph smiled at his little brother.

"Ah, before we go, which meats would you like? Chloe, you mentioned peanut butter... Anything else we need? I'm going to get smoked meat for Riv and I, as well as some rye bread if there is any. Isi, ham sandwich?" Aph smiled at everyone, getting into the mood. He was already energetic, and now the concept of making food for everyone was making him even happier.

Rivener smiled when things didn't explode right away. He DID notice that Roux's demeanor had changed with Eiry, the Icy Frei lifting himself up to stand "above" the other... Riv supressed an arrogant smirk, thinking of how Roux always seemed to float lower than Rivener. This was no moment for Riv to be overconfident.

"So, Eiry, if you have that mirror, I can take a picture of you?" He teased.

Floating closer to the two others, Rivener smiled and wondered what they might all do together. Rivener mostly wanted to lie in the sun right now; he was still a little cold from touching the snow. "Can we go back to the kiosk, Roux? I'd like to sit there again." He knew Eiry would not mind where they went, so getting Roux's agreement was more important.

"Of course not, Aphi," Isi replied sweetly. He didn't mind at all, but the way his brother smiled at him deserved a sarcastic response. Laughing genuinely, the crippled boy swung one of his hands free of his crutch and lightly punched Aphismet's arm. "I'll protect her and look after the raevans. My legs are still a bit weak from Eiry's escapade, so I wouldn't want to hobbling around in a supermarket." At the mention of food, he frowned at the mention of ham and shook his head, looking at him hopefully, "Oh...Uh, no ham. I never liked ham. That's the one thing I don't like, besides peanut butter, not offense Chloe...How about sushi? The little packaged meals?"

Defensively glancing back at his brother, he stuck his tongue out at him and replied haughtilly, "No. Not quick enough I am yet, brother."

Then he turned his attention back to Roux and thought that the floating higher thing was a game. Smiling excitedly, he floated higher with the soft beat of his ethereal wings and grasped his hand. At first touch, it was cold and Eiry jolted a bit in surprise. Then he studied the hand grasping his own, focused on its coldness, and looked up at Roux with a wide ear-to-ear smile, "Cold...Like window panes."

"I'm with Isi on ham," Alex chuckled, accepting the indignant Lorenzo from Chloe. The Gwee runt immediately darted up to her shoulders, where he sat and sulked as he watched the baby dragonette. Jealous? Very much so. "Sushi it is! I hope your brother knows what type you like, at least." She gave Aphismet a cheeky grin, tilting her head towards the general direction of the parking lot. "C'mon, we've got people to feed--oh!" She stopped for a moment, dropping her arms to dig in one of her pockets, producing a small burlap bag. Her free hand disappeared into the bag before deftly pulling out a handful of long radishes. "These are for the baby," she said, handing them to Chloe by their stalks, "they're called Icicle Radish. Good in nutrients for the Gwee, and just sweet enough that they don't mind eating them. I'll pick up some fruit for them while we're out."

Lorenzo watched the proceedings with a dour expression. He didn't quite want to give up the pink-haired woman, but now she had the baby to take care of. He certainly hoped Alex wouldn't neglect him for the whelpling today; not being the center of attention could put the small reptile in a foul mood, which usually ended in things being burned or otherwise maimed beyond recognition. Alex's pillows had the unfortunate experience of Lorenzo's jealousy. However, his moody demeanor was derailed by his master giving him a loving scratch on his nose, returning him to his happy-go-lucky dragon-smile that was more suited to his scaled face.
