Journal Entry: Kimie
Nanda is gone. Rhi came by with Rosie, and they're off to the Plushikat homeworld.
I can't hear Nanda. I listen and listen, but there's no response. I guess she's too far away...
The little ones are doing well. The house is by no means quieter than before, but I can still tell that Nanda is missing. I should take them out to the park or something. It's a gorgeous day, even if it is ungodly hot for the middle of May.
Danica and Evan are actually both asleep right now. I'd take a nap myself, but the house is a bit of a wreck. Hopefully running the vaccuum won't wake either of them.

RP: A Visit to Fa'e HQ
Kimie padded into HQ, wearing ratty jeans, a tanktop, and a snuggly on her back. She'd gotten a call from Lulu, saying that she might make an appearance there. Kimie needed to get the kids out of the house, and HQ was as good a place as any to show up!
A quiet little girl clung to Kimie's left hand, looking around the room with wide eyes, one thumb jammed into her mouth. She knew she wasn't supposed to suck her thumb, but when she was nervous it happened anyway.
Kimie brushed her hair out of her face and smiled at Danica. "It's ok, lovie, everyone here is nice. See over there? That's Lulu and her family," she said quietly.
From the snuggly on Kimie's back, Evan bounced and babbled, making the Catclaw family's arrival much more noticable than Kimie would have preferred. "Bllgeh!" he announced, waving his arms.
Lulu wavied at her friend. "oh hello Kimie!" she said with a smiled. "come, sit with me and Rini. we were just talking to these nice fa'e. Morion and Omi" she said with a nod and a pat the the seat on the other side of her. rini guggled in responce to the boy and started to wiggle alot more "it seems that Rini is glad to see an old face" she said with a nod.
Julia saw Danica ans waved and smiled "Danica! come play!" she said with a big grin, she was happpy to see a familir face
Zin noded and flapped her back wings "yes, please, come place with us"
A smile spread across Danica's face. She remembered Julia! "Hi Julia, hi Zin," she said, still a bit shy. "What were you playing?"
Kimie grinned, glad to know Danica would be OK with Lulu's girls. "Yo, Lulu!" She wiggled the snuggly off her back and flopped onto the couch.
Evan fussed until his mother pulled him out of his 'prison.' His mood abruptly changed as he looked around at all the people. Ooh, lots of them were shiny! And had those wing-things... and hair..! Kimie plunked him on her lap.
"See Rini? You know Rini."
Evan giggled and waved at the one with funny things on her head. "Gah!"
lulu smiled as rini tried to crawl closer and wiggled her ears at Evan "yep yep, she remembers him" she said with a smiled and a nod "they are cute, ne?" Rini gurgled and fussed, she wished that she could talking, or move arond better, being tinny was such a pain.
Julia sat Danica down and gave her a crrayon and a bit of paper "we are coloring" smiled the girl.
Zin nodded as well, "yep yep" she looked around her and flapped her wings "there sure are alot of people her now, hu?"
Danica nodded, a bit overwhelmed by the crowd. "Uh huh. Lots." She looked at the crayon. Red. Blue was better. And purple. Shrugging she started doodling. "Mumma gave me a journal to write in," she said proudly.
Evan giggled and reached out to pat Rini's ears. She wasn't a "nanimal" but that what you were supposed to do with nice head-things. He snuck a look at Kimie, who couldn't help but giggle.
"I've been trying to work on his tendancy to grab at peoples' ears and tails," she explained. "And hair," she added with a grimace. "Very good Evan. Pat gently." Kimie sat back and took a peek around the room. Hey, was that..? "Hiya, Niko!" she called.
Lulu smiled and nodded "well thank goodness she is a hugger rather then a puller, though some times that can be bad too" she said with a sweatdrop. Rini smiled and let the boy pet her ears. she then tries to hug him "oh no silly, no hugs right now" frowned lulu. Rini started to fuss and sniff like she was gonig to cry "i mean, if its ok with you kimie?"
Julia smiled and so did Zin "zin has a journal that i write in with her" said Julia with a nod
Zin smiled and started to colore a flower "what are you going to draw danica?"
"Psh, of course it's alright, as long as Evan lets her, that is." Kimie held him out, almost Lion-King-style. "Hug away!" she grinned.
o__0 What was his mother doing? Why was he dangling in the-- ooh, he could more things from here! He stopped squirming and resigned himself to being hugged. "Gleh! Mee!" he commented.
Danica bit her lip, looking at the piece of paper. "I dunno yet," she admitted. She reached for a blue crayon and turned the paper over to hide the red scribbles.
lulu smiled as she let Rini hug the boy "aww, they look so cute" she sid with an extra nod "we really should let them sleep over some time" Rini huggled the boy and gurgled before letting him go. he was a little smaller then her, but that was ok, there are alot of stragne things in the world, maybe he was younger then her? oh well, she started to talk in baby babble to the boy.
Zin nodded "i am just coloring a flower." she continued to do so, picking up other colors as she went along.
julia smiled "i am just gunna fill the page with colors" and nodded "maybe try that?"
"A sleepover would be fun. Maybe have everyone bed down in the living room at my place?" Kimie shrugged. "I really oughta do some redecorating. Give Danica her own room and stuff."
Evan babbled right back at Rini. At least this one with funny things on her head understood him! Even if he still didn't really get the point of those funny things.
"Hey, I just realized Evan is a month old today!" Kimie exclaimed.
Danica nodded. She started at the top left-hand corner of the paper and carefully began to color it dark blue. She left a few spots blank. Those would be filled in later. "So do you know any of these others? Besides my mumma and yours, I mean."
Lulu smiled "thats a wonderful idea" she looked at him "oh? i forgot to celibrate when Rini was a month old. actauly i think it was 7 days ago? you were born on the 14th right little one?" Smiled lulu as she bounced the baby on her knee "they have grown since then havnt they? soon they wil be walking, ill have to tot proof the house"
Zin shook her head "not an of these guys" and flapped her wings "i went to the beach with Lu before, he is like them, a fa'e i mean" and nodded, continuing to draw her flower.
Julia smiled at danica "nope nope" and then continued to color her pick as well.
"Oh, lord, it'll be like Epona all over again!" Kimie groaned. Evan would no doubt take after his birth-mother. He was hyper enough, even without being mobile.
Not that Evan didn't try to move himself. He'd mastered rolling over, and he could usually pull himself into a sitting position-- but he couldn't go anywhere.
"He'd better not learn how to do flips in and out of his crib, like I did!" Kimie giggled, even though she had a rather horrified expression on her face.
"Is Lu nice?" Danica asked, still using the blue crayon. After another minute or so, she switched to a yellow one and started drawing stars in the blank spots on the paper.
lulu smiled "thats really funny, how did you manage that?" she said as she rolled her eyes "i am sure that hurt though"
Rini gave up trying to control her body and lay back.
lulu petted Rini and held her safe "it looks like th little one is getting tired, poor thing" smiled Lulu.
Zin nodded "oh yes! Lu is a very nice person. he is my best friend" she nodded. she finished up the pick "look you guys, do you like my flower?"
Julia nodded "i like it, but i'm not done with mine" she continued to put different colors everywhere on her page.
"I have no idea. But apparently I did. Scared my mother half to death!" Kimie gigglesnorted.
Evan looked around, blinking. He yawned and began fussing quietly.
"Shh, shh, it's OK. I think he's about ready for a nap as well."
"That's pretty," Danica said, glancing up from her drawing. "Mine is the night sky, see?"
((I need to go shower and stuff soon.
And I really did do flips out of my crib when I was a baby xd ))
lulu smiled "i think we should take them home now" she said with a nod as she stood "time to go Julia, Danica and Zin" called Lulu.
Zin nodded "thats cool" then turned to lulu "ok, just fiish up real quick, it looks like we are going home"
julia nodded and finished really quick "hows that?"
zin smiled "good good"
"I like it," Danica said, putting crayons back in the box. Carrying her masterpiece proudly, she hugged Kimie around the waist. "Can it go on the fridge?"
"Of course! It's very nice, lovie." Kimie grinned as she gathered Evan up and arranged him in the snuggly.
Evan protested for a minute before settling down, nearly asleep.
"Say goodbye, Danica," Kimie instructed. She waved at Lulu and the girls as she headed towards the door.
"Byeee," Danica called, still clutching her picture. "It was fun," she nodded, following Kimie out.

Journal Entry: Kimie
Evan is crawling now! He'd mastered the rocking-back-and-forth part, but hadn't been able to get any forward momentum. And now he'd figured it out!
Wow, he's fast. I'll need to go around and toddler-proof the house some more. With Evan mobile, and Rini a toddler... I learned my lesson when Epona was staying here!
Also, I think he's said his first word. He's been pointing at things and saying "pree," which I'm guessing means "pretty." My little boy's growing so fast!

Kimie awoke groggily. Someone was shaking her.
"Mumma? Get up!"
"Huh-wha?" Kimie mumbled. "Wha'ss goin' on?" She sat up slowly, pulling her hair out of her face and into a sloppy ponytail.
"Evan changed," said Danica. "He's bigger!"
"Oh! I guess he grew like Rini did!" Kimie hopped out of bed and crossed the hall into the nursery. She really did need to get Danica her own space...
Evan was standing up, clinging to the bars of his crib. He had a full head of hair, and he was taller-- although still tiny! "Hiiii!" The little halfling waved a hand at his mother.
Kimie jumped up and down, looking rather younger than her actual age. "Oh you darling!" She swept him up and into her arms. Evan wrapped his arms around her neck and planted a sloppy kiss on her cheek.
"Ev big!" He announced proudly. Kimie giggled. Evan was hardly "big"! Standing next to her, he'd barely reach her knees.
Danica stared at Evan, wide-eyed. She'd had quite a shock, waking up to find her baby brother peeking through the bars of his crib-- looking considerably older than he had just the night before. "Wow," she said. "That's why I got you up, Mumma."
"You know, you made an even drastic over-night change, Danica. One day you were a bouncy little blob, and then you were you!" Kimie smoothed her daughter's hair back.
"Oh yeah..." Danica flashed a grin and wrinkled her nose cutely. "Does this mean I can have my own room now?"
"Ha! I'm working on it, love. I didn't think Evan would grow so soon. You will have your own space though, as soon as possible."
"Good." She nodded. "Food now?" Evan bounced in Kimie's arms. "Yah, food!" he crowed.
Kimie hid a grin and padded down the hall into the kitchen. Things would get very interesting with Evan mobile and talking... She needed a bowl of Lucky Charms.

RP: An exciting visit to the Maban clinic. Kimie Kitty Kimie padded up to the doors of the clinic, hoping there would be someone around. Her daughter Danica clung tightly to one of her hands, trying to hide behind her hair. Evan was not nearly so shy. From the snuggly on Kimie's back (which he luckily still fit in... and probably would for quite awhile!) he looked around, babbling to himself. Once inside, Danica found a comfortable chair and curled up with a Highlights magazine. Kimie shrugged and chose a chair nearby. She lifted Evan out of the snuggly and set him down. Once freed, Evan pulled himself into a standing position, using the chair leg for balance. He took off toddling around the room, looking for anything interesting. Dulcea (( Caaaannddiiieee OwO <333 )) "Sopra qui!" Ting called, sniffing at the door to the clinic, "I found home!" Ul stood a few feet back, confused by the canine girl, "Well, no, you didn't" she tried to explain, laying her hand on Ting's shoulder, "But it was a g-" Ting pushed her away, pointing her other hand to the door purposefully, "My nose doesn't lie! That's home, it reeks of bambini!" Ul bit her lip and backed away, when Ting got an idea in her head there wasn't much she could do to change it, short of calling Andreas. But she might as well try, otherwhise they'd be stuck here for hours, "Home isn't the only place that smells like children." The canine planted herself on the edge of the sidewalk, her arms crossed against her chest, "Then what is it Miss Conoscalo-Tutto?" Kimie Kitty Kimie looked towards the door. She'd been busily unpacking a bag with juice and crackers, as well as keeping one eye on Evan. He'd only just started walking, but he was fast! Evan, who had a keen eye for mischief and rather liked meeting new people, pressed his face up against the glass. He waved at the funny people outside. Danica sat quietly, reading. ((erk, I have to go in like.. 15 minutes)) Dulcea TingTing ignored the younger girl's ranting and crawled up to the door, staring back at the child, "Bambino piccolo?" she asked quietly, tapping her finger against the glass. So it was a child zoo? That would be fun, she could take Teagan here, maybe they'd do everyone a favor keep him. "Ting!" Ul said, her voice sharp as she tried to snap the canine to attention, honestly! It was like talking to a hamster. But what was it she was looking at? Kimie Kitty Evan stared at Ting. She had funny things on her head... They were different than the funny things on the other baby's head though. Maybe they were also pettable? "Hiii!" he called through the glass. Kimie giggled. Little Evan could hardly be seen from the outside. "Ev, come over here so they can come inside." "Kay," was his distracted response. He trotted over to Kimie and looked up at her with wide eyes. "Juush?" The kitty-girl grinned and held out a juice box. "Want one?" she directed towards Danica. Danica nodded. She sat sucking at the juice, looking around warily. Dulcea (( Bai Feather! <3 )) Ting blinked, slightly startled by the child's reaction. It could talk? Well, of course it could talk, Teagan could talk, but he was a bigger child, this was a little child, maybe he was supposed to be miniatura like that. She pushed the door open, remaining on her hands and knees, and turned to look back at the blonde girl, "Venire?" Ul shook her head, "No, I'm going back to the shop, be there by eight tonight and I'll have Naomi show you the way home." Ting shrugged and continued inside, letting the door close behind her before she got to her feet. Well, not that standing up made much of a difference, even in heels she was only four and a half feet tall. She brushed her jeans off and walked toward the two, perking an ear in curiousity, "Hi?" Kimie Kitty "Hiii!" Evan said cheerfully. "Jush?" He held out a juicebox, steadying himself by holding on to the fabric of his mother's jeans. "Hey there," Kimie waved. "I'm Kimie Catclaw. The little noisy one is Evan, and the quiet one is Danica. You new here? Oh, and do you want juice, since Evan's offered some?" She grinned. Evan waved the juicebox around. "Jush!" From her chair, Danica smiled shyly over magazine. ((And crap, I'm so sorry, but I have to go >.< You can respond and I'll pick up when I get back in a couple hours?)) Dulcea (( Sure, I'm pretty much always around xd )) Ting dropped onto her heels so that she was at eye level with the boy and took the juice from him with a cheerful, "Grazie bambino!" before she stood back up to respond to the woman's question. "Ting Xiu Russo" she offered, taking a sip before she continued, "This place not home, but I find, so I come in." She hesitated before asking about it, unsure as to what the question might sound like in English, "Child zoo?" Kimie Kitty ((Eep! Hrm, a reply...)) Kimie stifled a giggle. The clinic could be considered a zoo at times. "Um, this is place where people can adopt children. I adopted Evan about five weeks ago," she explained. Evan grinned up at Ting. "Ev," he announced. He trotted over to the snuggly and pulled out an obviously well-loved dragon plushie. "Pree!" he said, holding it to Ting ('s knees). Still feeling shy, Danica gave Ting a tiny wave. "Nice to meet you." ((Edit: Hiya, Pen!)) Dulcea (( And I know it makes no sense for a chinese breed to speak Italian, but every other character in the family speaks Italian so she picked it up xd )) "Ah, casa senza casa del bambino!" Ting announced, starting to understand despite her rather obvious problems with English. She waved cheerfully to the young girl before getting down on her knees and facing the young boy. It was interesting, he was smaller than she was, almost everyone back home was bigger her. "Pree beu-iful" she complimented, touching a finger to the toy's nose, "Like hansome bambino!" Kimie Kitty Evan giggled gleefully. "Ya, pree!" He clutched the plushie to his chest. "Mine," he nodded. He'd show the plushie off, but it wouldn't leave his arms. Figuring Evan was ok for the moment, Kimie pulled out a paperback book. Danica finished her juice box and set it down on an end-table. She sat forward in her chair, watching Evan and this new person carefully. (( gonk Sorry I took so long, I was fighting with MSN messenger)) Amyla Edana ((--stalks Nothing-- Okie... hmmm... Aiodhan or Amyla... or both.... both!!)) "Amyla, darling... hey, wait... ohhh, how did we end up here again?" For as large and fierce as he looked, Aiodhan sounded like something akin to a whining child. The dragon-man padded alongside his mate, as he'd come to think of her for lack of a better word. The two still hadn't settled their respective commitment issues, though each knew that there was no person (or half-person) better for them. Amyla's response to his whine was a smile and a delicate kiss to the tip of his nose as she half-led, half-dragged him into the adoption agency. "Come on now, Aiod, you know I like to stop by every now and then to see if there are any children needing homes. We both agreed that we wanted to adopt. So why don't you like coming here?" "It's too... feminine," the dragon-man grumbled, wrapping his wide, plated tail about Amyla's waist. Dulcea "Molto beu-iful" she repeated, then set the half full juice box on the floor by her side and pointed both hands toward herself, "Ragazza del cane" she explained, though she was fairly sure the child wouldn't understand, maybe she could teach him something, he seemed eager. She repeated the name again and then pointed to him and his toy, "Bambino an' giocattolo piccoli!" Ting repeated this name game a second time and smiled, wagging her tail cheerfully, "An' Andreas cane grande!" Nothing Yet ((Kimie, hope yah don't mind that I know you. whee )) The place had peaked her curiosity more than once - okay, about a zillion times - but she'd never quite had the nerve to go in before now. Meekly and feeling shy for once in her life, she opened the door to the clinic with a shaky hand. Jenn immediately recognized Kimie, though she hadn't really had much of a chance to have a real conversation with her as of late. She beamed with excitement as she made her way over to her, waving in a highly friendly manner. "Hallo, Kimie!" She greeted her, immediately beginning to coo over Evan and Danica. "Oh, they're just too cute..." She didn't want to interrupt any conversation Kimie might be having (because it certainly looked like she had just done so), so she calmed down a bit and took a look around. This place was just as intriguing on the inside as it was the outside! Noticing that Danica had just finished her juice box, she smiled at her. "I used to love juice...what flavor was it? Apple was my favorite." Kimie Kitty Evan blinked. "Rag..cane," he repeated. He blinked again. Kimie looked up from her book and waved at Amyla and her reluctant partner. "Heya, haven't seen you for a while." Trying to remain inconspicuous, Danica slid off the chair onto the floor. She scooted towards Evan and the new lady. edit: "Jenn!" Kimie bounced out of her chair and hugged Jenn. It had been far too long since she'd made that little present for Jenn and her butterdish. Danica looked over her shoulder. Yet another new person. "Apple," she nodded. Amyla Edana ((Hiya, Lulu!)) Amyla spotted Kimie and waved a greeting. "Hey, long time, no see! And yes, we've been gone. Aiodhan and I have been rather..." "Busy," Aiodhan supplied easily, his slit-pupilled eyes focused more on the unknown others than on Amyla's acquaintance. Amyla wrinkled her nose at Aiodhan's word choice. "Well, we have been busy, though not like that. Well, I guess... oh, never mind! Anyway, Karael and the Equus have been causing problems lately, so it's been rather difficult," she said by way of explanation, spreading her hands in a helpless sort of gesture. "Karael is almost a teen now. I'm getting worried." Dulcea Ting perked and ear and tried to think of how to explain it. After a few seconds of confusion she decided on the best method and set her hands together in front of her body, let them fall slack like paws, let her tongue loll out, and started panting. She kept this charade up for a few moments, alternating it with the possessive hand motion and the word, "Can e!" Kimie Kitty "Ah yes. I've been busy too." She grinned and waved in Evan and Danica's general direction. Amyla Edana "Ohhh... wait, is that..." Amyla asked in confusion, gazing at Evan. He looked familiar. She couldn't remember whether she had met the little boy or not. Aiodhan obviously hasn't as he was inching closer to her, tightening his tail's grip about her waist. "May, why are there so many people here today?" he whispered, the sound coming out a bit hissy around his pointed teeth. He hated crowds. He was mollified, though, when his use of his pet name for Amyla granted him another kiss, this one full on the mouth. "Mmmph... never mind," he murmured, stopping his protests. Kimie Kitty Evan's face scrunched up as he thought. "Doggie?" Danica ventured. "Cane is.. doggie?" Evan clapped his hands. "Woofwoof!" edit: "Yep, that's Evan," Kimie affirmed. "He's a toddler now." ^^ Dulcea Ting clapped her hands together and nodded, nearly bouncing on her heels, squealing happily, "Cane es doggae! Yes!" She nearly barked on the last word, wagging her tail furiously. It wasn't that uncommon for her to get worked up over such simple things, with children especially, she was a spit fire. Kimie Kitty A slow smile spread across Danica's face. "So... you're a doggie-person?" "Dogpersn," Evan echoed, excited because this new person was so excited. Amyla Edana "Wow, he grew!" Amyla marvelled, watching the toddler. "He's adorable!" she couldn't help but add, giving Kimie a grin. "You must be so proud." Aiodhan, however, was more interested in watching the being that Evan was communicating with. He wasn't sure if it was a canine-human or a human-canine or some bizarre thing that he had never seen the likes of before. The tip of his tail tapped lightly against Amyla's abdomen, causing her to give him a peculiar look that he saw and ignored. Kimie Kitty Kimie grinned. "Yeah, he grew, but he's still so little! Lucky for me, so I can keep most things out of reach. I'm amazed at what he can do though. He's walking and... working on talking." Dulcea Ting nodded, though she was curretly too excited to speak. Instead, she pulled her wallet from her side pocket and showed the child a picture of her breed. Andreas had always told her to carry one incase someone asked, a smart idea considering she could barely pronouce her own name no less her pedigree. Kimie Kitty Danica leaned forward to inspect the picture. "Pretty," she said, noting the similarities between Ting and the dog in the picture. "Can you turn into that?" Evan clapped his hands again. "Doggie-pree!" Nothing Yet Jenn returned the hug she'd received from Kimie, and pulled away so she could speak with the child by her side oceoe. She couldn't really say that they'd ever met, and she felt somewhat bad for not making an effort to do so. Thinking that Danica was absolutely adorable (and had an impeccable taste in drinks), she sat down nearby the child. "I'm Jenn - a friend of your mom's. Mind if I ask what your name is?" She asked, smiling cheerfully. It was then that she took notice of the couple - she assumed they were a couple - speaking with Kimie. She giggled; the way they spoke to one another reminded of her relationship. She waved in a friendly manner to the duo as she had done to Kimie. She was always happy to make new friends, after all, and she was hopeful that they felt the same way. Kimie Kitty Danica pushed her hair out of her eyes. "Danica. You know Mumma?" Evan squirmed to look at Jenn. "Hi," he said, to be polite. Dulcea She shook her head, tucking the wallet back into her pocket before she chimed in happily, though she was still a bit short of breath, "No tern, jus-me!" She looked around curiously, her attention drifting to the building again, "So, nod' chile zoo, chile home place?" Amyla Edana Aiodhan spotted another newcomer waving. Slightly perplexed, he gave the woman a wave with one wing, his hands never leaving Amyla's shoulders. What odd people they met here at the agency. He never could quite comprehend it all. Amyla grinned and waved at Kimie's friend, sparing Evan a fond glance. "The terrible toddler years, ey? Well, enjoy his cuteness while it lasts, even if it does make you gray. Karael is driving me crazy. She finallly decided upon being female and will be growing into her teenage years soon. The angst is about to kill me," the woman said with a sigh. Evan certainly was adorable, even if he was a bit of a mischief maker as Kimie said. No child was perfect; it was usually the little flaws that made them all the more loveable. Kimie Kitty Danica translated Ting's speech mentally. She wasn't so hard to understand, as long as you listened right. "Sort of. People come here to adopt babies whose mummas can't take care of them." Kimie winced. "Teen angst. Fun. Oh!" she smacked her forehead with one hand. "Amyla this is Jenn; Jenn, Amyla." She gestured at both women respectively. Nothing Yet Jenn nodded in response to Kimie's question, thinking yet again that the child was utterly adorable. "I do know her. She's very nice, wouldn't you say?" She gave Danica a little wink before returning the greeting Evan had given her. "Hi there! Goodness, what a full head of hair you already have." She wondered if little halflings like Evan got hair faster than other children, or if all children had hair this early on. She wished she knew a little more about babies and how they grew... The male that waved with his wing seemed to have a shell that was tough to crack. The female, however, seemed genuinely glad to see her wave, which made her smile a bit. The fact that these two seemed to be polar opposites only made her more interested in getting to know them. She nodded as Kimie introduced her, and reached out her hand for a handshake. "Nice to meet you." She continued to smile her friendly smile up at her. Amyla Edana Amyla smiled and gave the woman a friendly nod. "Pleasure to meet you, Jenn. Are you looking to adopt as well?" she asked curiously, feeling Aiodhan's tail tighten briefly about her waist. "Oh, and this ray of sunshine is my... well, this is Aiodhan. Don't worry; he's not quite as vicious as he looks. Just don't try to hurt me," she chuckled awkwardly, reaching up to stroke the dragon-man's face. Aiodhan gave the woman a glance and a nod before returning his attention to the human-canine and the two children before her. What an odd group they were, though they seemed to understand each other well. Communication always fascinated him. Dulcea "Ah!" she nodded, thinking she might have understood. "Like Andreas say I make Ma cra' tze an she say she go oue of 'er mide" Well, she almost understood, she was referring to the younger girl she'd taken to as her mother, Ul, and the man she'd decided was hers, a komondor anthro by the name of Andreas. (( And Andreas and Ting only understand about half of what each other are saying because they're both fairly poor in English, Ting speaks Italian, and Andreas speaks Spanish xd )) Nothing Yet Jenn nodded in response to Amyla. "My...well...better half, I guess you could say," She paused to snicker. "He's not here right now...but my curiosity was getting the best of me, so I just had to venture in. I'm excited to finally come in here...it really hypes me up for adoption." Though she was still having a hard time explaining the whole process to Michael (her said better half), it seemed like he was going for it. Seeing how content Kimie was with Evan assured her that she would adore having a child to care for... She chuckled as she looked at the dragon-male once more. "I don't think I'll have anything to worry about...at least I hope not. I don't think I'd have any reason to try and hurt you."

Kimie Kitty Danica giggled and nodded. "Yeah." She blinked at Ting. Well, she'd sort of understood... "Sort of," she said. "But the mummas are usually pregnant when they come here." She held her hands in front of her stomach, imitating a gravid belly. Evan had lost interest in the language lesson and waved at Jenn. "Hiii!" Kimie smiled. "Jenn is an old friend. And when Evan was born, he was completely bald. The hair just kind of.. showed up." Her son's growing had been a bit unexpected, but she figured there was no use in being surprised at everything the little halfling did. Amyla Edana Amyla grinned wickedly. She liked this Jenn already. The woman had a good understanding of the complexities of relationships, especially one where the male half seemed to be less than enthusiastic about the adoption process. "I didn't need to come here to be hyped up. After we... well, had failure with me conceiving, I convinced Aiodhan that adoption was our best bet. We're still hoping we may be able to have kids of our own one day," the woman said wistfully, the mournful note in her voice grabbing Aiodhan's attention. "And no, I don't think you have anything to worry about. I've sufficiently tamed him," she added with a mischevious grin. Aiodhan gave her a dark look. "I'll deal with you later," he growled at his mate, though the twinkle in his eyes belied his angry voice. He preferred to not think about their inability to have children of their own. He knew the fault was his in some part. Amyla had nothing physically wrong with her. It was his... condition that complicated things. Nothing Yet ((Rargh, I completely forgot I had to go work in the nursery in the morning...I'll have to go poof now. cry I guess I'll see y'all tomorrow...)) Dulcea Ting imitated the motion, her eyes wide with a child-like curiousity that never seemed to fade, "Preggna!" She pouted, looking a bit frustrated as she finally understood the meaning of the word, "Incinto." It was a bit useless to repeat it in a language she understood, but maybe it would help show she knew the meaning. "I canna haf bambini" she explained, repeating the motion but cutting it off half way, "Like I no goh teth" she added, opening her mouth to show that two of her lower fangs were missing, a common trait in her breed. It really wasn't that much of a surprise to her though, the hairless gene she showed was a mutation, and sometimes nature would catch on and the pups would be born sterile, or nearly sterile, like she had. Kimie Kitty ((Byebye Jenn! *snuggles*)) Kimie waved as Jenn hurried off. "See you around, Jenn. I hope you can adopt a child some time." She sat back down, waving a hand at the chair next to hers. "Right. 'Tamed.' A likely story!" Good. She'd understood. Danica leaned forward to observe the missing teeth.. or.. observe the place where the teeth would be. "You can't have babies?" Evan pouted as Jenn left. How dare a person be so interesting and then just up and leave!? He would started a tantrum if he hadn't been distracted by something. Ting's half-empty juicebox. He looked around sneakily and grabbed at. Content with his "find," Evan sat back and sucked at the straw. Amyla Edana Amyla managed a wave at Jenn as she disappeared. Well, that had been sudden. Settling into the chair, she gave Kimie a wink and a sly grin. "He is tamed, to a degree, though he still can be quite an animal when he wants to be," she said with a dark smile. "He doesn't bite as often anymore, though." "At least not when anyone else is watching," Aiodhan replied simply, releasing his hold on Amyla in order to step closer to Evan. The curious little halfing intrigued him, and the dragon-man settled down before the boy, his elbow-jointed legs letting him sit rather comfortably on the ground. That was one benefit of the draconic legs, besides the speed they lent. They made sitting on the ground very easy. Chairs, however, were something else entirely. "Taste good?" he asked Evan with a chuckle. Dulcea "Nope" she repeated, the word sounding cheerful despite it's purpose. "Bud'i khan pray, God migh' decide I shou haf baby" she chimed, her voice full of hope. "An if God doe'nt, then I don'know" she shrugged, distracted for a moment by the child that had taken the juice back, oh well, it had been his anyway, hadn't it? She snapped back to attention, facing the girl with a smile, "God ha'se a plan for eveyone!" Kimie Kitty Kimie snorted at the biting comment. "I don't have anyone like that. I mean, I have lots of friends and a..." How to describe Rhi? "A sister. And pets. But that's all different." Evan nodded. "Jush," he mumbled, not bothering to take the straw out of his mouth. Deciding this man was interesting enough, he scooted closer. "Pree!" he announced, holding out his bedraggled plushie. "Yeah? I don't know much about God... But I hope you can have babies some day. Maybe adopt?" Danica cocked her head to the side. She'd been adopted, and Evan had been adopted, and they were both perfectly content. Amyla Edana Amyla smiled softly, giving Aiodhan a gentle glance that he didn't see, so intent was he on the little boy. "It's nice to have someone, even if they do give you bitemarks in unnameable places. Once you have a... a companion like that, you can never be alone again without feeling that you'll never be happy again. I love my job, but I hate having to get out of bed in the morning," she confessed, watching Aiodhan try to communicate with the boy. Aiodhan nodded wisely. "Jush gooood. Pree!" he agreed, nodding at the plushie that Evan held out. He grinned briefly and then, remembering his pointed teeth, sealed his lips again. His tail flicked up over his shoulder, and he pointed at it. "Pree tail? Pree wing?" he suggested as well, lightly twitching one of his leathery black wings. Dulcea One of her ears perked at the word, she'd heard it before, like Ul had adopted Teagan and the others. "A-dot?" she asked, stumbling a bit on the pronunciation. "Like adotti?" she continued, though it was more of a curious statement than a question, "I guese God would 'na mind tha, I coul try." True, her English needed a little work, alright, a lot of work, but she was better at it than Andreas. Kimie Kitty Kimie nodded, a wry smile on her lips. "Sometimes I really wish I had a companion like that but... It just hasn't happened yet." She shrugged. "I've got my little family, though, and they certainly keep me busy enough." She pulled her tail across her lap and began to pet it, smoothing down the soft fur. Evan's eyes grew wide at the emergence of the tail. "Ooh!" He stood up, bracing himself on Aiodhan's knee, to get a closer look. "Tay?" he asked, dropping the last consonant. He tried to look at his own behind. "Adopt," Danica corrected, speaking slowly and carefully. "I hope you can." She brushed her hair out of her eyes. She'd actually managed to overcome her shyness for a bit. Amyla Edana "Amen to that... Karael and my romantically-inclined Equus have kept me hopping, in addition to Aiodhan's... erm... ministrations?" Amyla said rather awkwardly, not quite sure how to term it. She shrugged, twirling a lock of hair about one finger. "I was alone for awhile too. Sheer chance brought Aiodhan and I together. It was not love at first sight; I can tell you that. We spent weeks at each others' throat, literally, before we finally managed to work out our issues. I don't even know why we did. All I know is that I'm glad, and I don't know what I'd do without him," she added with a dreamy smile. She blushed suddenly, feeling like a lovestruck teenager. Aiodhan nodded sagely, trying to look wise and serious. "Yes, taay," he said, bringing it up over his shoulder a bit more to tap the tip against Evan's nose. "Pree? No... leathery!" he corrected himself, fascinated by his own tail for some inexplicable reason. ((Oh, okay, Kimie. And oddly enough, Aiodhan's knee is about where his hip should be. whee Imagine a dog's hind legs. That's basically what Aiodhan's legs are like, minus the fur. He has leathery skin from about his knees on downward to his odd hand-feet. )) Dulcea "Adopt" Ting repeated, wagging her tail a big, proud that she'd picked up on the word. She was silent for a moment, worried that she didn't know what she ought to say next, but her worry was quickly assuaged when she became distracted by the girl's bright eyes. They were almost teal, that was a fun color, like party between blue and green. Could colors party? That would be fun to watch, like a kaleidoscope that didn't have to be moved, but what fun would that be if you couldn't move it to change it the way you wanted. Oh boy, she was drifting again. "So!" she chimed, "Chiles, like boy" she pointed to Evan, "Bete in new famiglia?" Kimie Kitty Kimie grinned. "That's wonderful, that you have someone like that." She looked at her wrist habitually-- and realized how long they'd been there. "Oh boy, I think we'd best get going." Evan went cross-eyed at the finger on his nose. "Nuh-uh. Pree." Evan pointed. A different kind of pretty, perhaps. "Leth-ry pree." Danica blushed when she realized Ting was looking at her so closely. "Bete?" she asked. Dulcea "Eh.." she fumbled, knitting her brows in a brief spell of confusion, "Batter, better!" It was a small victory for sure, but it was enough to cheer her up for a little while. Amyla Edana "Ahhh, someone's bedtime?" Amyla said with a knowing smile. She had better get home to her pre-teen Ancient as well who was most likely trying to build another house of popsicle sticks. "I'd better make sure Karael isn't driving Kveairo crazy again," she added, reluctantly moving as if to stand. Her gaze caught on Aiodhan and Evan, however, and she paused, grinning. "Uh oh... looks like we might have to pry those two apart." "Leth-ry pree... yes, very good," Aiodhan said, unable to resist the boy's childish charm. The tailtip tapped lightly once more at Evan's nose and then withdrew, dangling a bit above the halfling's reach. Tapping at himself, the dragon-man said, "Aiodhan." He pointed at Kimie. "Mommy?" And then at Amyla. "Amyla." Then he pointed at the little boy and gave a shrug. "You?" Kimie Kitty "Oh! Yes, it is better." Danica smiled. "Hey, kidlets, time to get going," Kimie announced. She started gathering up their various belongings: empty juiceboxes, her book, some partially used kleenex. "Ay-oh.." Evan stumbled over the leth-ry person's name. "Ev!" he said, pointing to himself. "Go byebye now..." Dulcea Ting waved to the girl as they got ready to leave, getting to her feet after a few seconds. She sniffed the air cautiously, debating whether or not she should leave as well. It was past the time she should have gone to the shop, but it didn't really matter, she could sleep the night there and get someone to show her home in the morning, it's not like they didn't have extra beds. Oh well, that didn't matter for now, she'd decided she was going to stick around for a little while, she liked the smell of children, they smelled.. Happy. Kimie Kitty Acting on an impulse, Danica hugged Ting around the waist. "I'll see you later, k?" Kimie scooped Evan up and began the rather complicated ritual of "getting Evan into the snuggly without his feet ending up over his head or something." With Evan finally stowed, she turned back to Amyla. "Hey, this has been fun. And I think Evan's found a friend," she grinned. Evan bounced in the snuggly. "Ay-oh." Amyla Edana "Ev... Aiodhan go byebye now too!" the dragon-man said solemnly, unfolding his odd legs to stand. Standing for him was much easier than for most people. He merely had to extend his legs. Poor Amyla, meanwhile, had to stretch her own legs before heaving herself to her feet. "I swear, I get lazier every day," she grumbled, unable to resist a smile at Aiodhan's odd speech with little Evan. "I see Aiodhan has made a friend... do you need some help with that, Kimie?" she asked suddenly, watching the woman bustle about to gather up her things. Kimie Kitty "Oh no, I've got everything. Whoops. Ok, now I have everything." Kimie grinned impishly. "We'll see you around Amyla, you too Aiodhan and Ting." She nodded at each in turn. From the snuggly, Evan was chanting "Byebye byebye" over and over again. Danica waved and headed towards the door to hold it open for her mom and brother. "G'bye." Amyla Edana "See you around, Kimie! Keep your eyes open for odd things crash-landing in your backyard!" Amyla called cheerfully, giving Aiodhan a sideways look on the sly. She squealed suddenly as a massive tail wound itself around her waist. "Odd, my arse..." the dragon-man murmured in her ear. Aiodhan did spare a wing-wave for Evan, though, grinning at the toddler's seemingly endless amoungs of energy. Then, he half-turned to watch Ting, not quite sure what to make of her. Dulcea "Kae" Ting responded, though she knew the girl couldn't hear her, still a little startled by the action. She looked around, sniffing the air once more before she turned her attention to the man that was looking at her. Did she have something in her hair? "Ciao?" she called, though her nervous voice made it sound like a question. Kimie Kitty Kimie traipsed out with Evan. It had been a good visit. Evan continued babbling. Danica took one last backward glance and hurried to catch up with her mom. [/fin]

A phone call/Evan gets a bath: "Now will you call them? Please?" Danica looked up at Kimie, a most pathetic look on her face. "I said I would, lovey. Can you try to get Evan cleaned up a bit?" Kimie brushed a few sweaty strands of hair out of her face. Maybe she ought to get air-conditioning to go with Danica's new room... "Yay!" Danica squealed, flinging her arms around Kimie's waist. "Evan has spaghetti sauce all over the place..." "I know, I'm sorry. Just get his hands and face clean? And maybe get him in a new shirt?" She'd been doing a record-number of loads of laundry in the past weeks. "Kay!" Danica scooted off to the kitchen where Evan sat in his high chair, covered in orange sauce.
Kimie shook her head. Opening the phonebook to the page she'd marked, she ran her finger down the line of names and numbers. "There we are," she muttered. She sat on the couch and dialed. "You have reached Carson's Construction, the best in Barton! Juanita speaking, how may I help you?" Oh good. At least it wasn't a recording. "Um, yes. I'm Kimie Catclaw and I need someone to put up a wall dividing a room, and adding a door to an existing wall. Make sense?" Urgh. That sounded stupid. She could hear the person on the other end of the line typing into a computer. "Yes, I believe so. That shouldn't be a difficult job. When do you want some of our guys over?" Kimie blinked. Hm, that was unexpectedly helpful. "Er.. this weekend? I've still got to clean up a bit... How much is this going to cost, by the way?" The receptioned quoted some numbers. "Our best crew is finishing up a job in just a couple of days, so they should be free by the weekend." "Oh thank you! You've been so very helpful..." Kimie's voice was noticably relieved. "That's what I'm here for, ma'am," the receptionist answered cheerfully. "Now I just need your phone number, address, and some billing information. Will this be on your credit card?" "Is a personal check OK?" Kimie recited her information. "Yes indeed, ma'am. I'll have the crewmaster give you a call later this week to work out the details." "Thank you very much," Kimie finished, hanging up the phone with a click.
"Whew..." She pulled her hair up into a sweaty, messy ponytail and ventured into the kitchen to check if any progress had been made. The table, floor, and a cabinet were splattered with noodles and sauce. From the bathroom, Kimie heard the sounds of splashing water and Evan-- yelling his head off. Thank goodness he hadn't started screaming until she was off the phone! "Good grief, Ev, you'd think Danica was scalping you in here or something!" she said, daring to peek into the bathroom. A pile of spaghetti-covered clothes, Danica perched on the edge of the tub, and Evan, wet and complaining loudly. "No baaath!" Evan howled. "Oh Danica, you didn't need to draw a bath, just wipe his face and hands..." Danica bit her lip. "But he was so messy, Mumma! I was just trying to help..." Tears welled up in her large eyes. Kimie kneeled down next to her daughter. "Sweets, I'm not mad." "Ev mad!" he interjected, pouting. "Please don't cry. Besides, the construction guys are gonna come by this weekend to work on your room." "Really?" Danica asked, the tears disappearing. "Really really." She turned to her irate son. "Evan, stop screaming. You're mostly clean anyway, I just need to get the soap off." The shrieking subsided and Evan crossed his arms across his chest, chin down. "Bad soap," he muttered. "D, can you put the old clothes in the hamper please? Thank you darling." Kimie quirked and eyebrow at Evan. "You'll be out in just a minute." --And before Evan realized what was happening, Kimie wiped him down with a washcloth, rinsed the last of the soap from his hair, and scooped him out of the tub and into a fluffy towel. "See?" "Ev down!" Evan demanded. "Fine. Hold still!" Evan tried to escape his mother's grasp, intending to go streaking around the house... but he was foiled by his short legs. "Gotcha!" Kimie picked him up again and scuttled across the hall to the nursery. Danica had a fresh diaper and a blue t-shirt laid out. "Is this good, Mumma?" "You're a lifesaver, D." Kimie grinned at her and began the process of wrestling Evan into his clothes. Evan kicked his feet mischievously, causing trouble for the sake of causing trouble. Once the diaper was on and the shirt pulled over his head, his pointy ears sticking out of the neck-hole, Evan escaped Kimie's grasp and galloped in circles around the room. "Can't see! Can't see!" he chanted. Danica giggled. She snuck up behind him and pulled the shirt down. "There!" Kimie grinned again and high-fived her daughter. "Good job. Distract him a bit while I face the disaster-zone which seems to have taken over the kitchen?" "Okay, Mumma!" Danica practically dragged her little brother into the living room. "Teevee!" Evan chirped happily. He grabbed one of his plushies from the floor and climbed up onto the couch. "Lawnordr!" Kimie snerked in the kitchen, already up to her elbows in spaghetti, as the familiar theme music played. Ching-ching!

RP: With Ullie and Amyla Starts: here. Amyla Edana "I'm just stopping by for a minute to see if there are spots open for applications. ... Just a minute, I promise!" Amyla said rather exasperatedly into the cell phone pressed to her ear. Though most of it was tied back rather haphazardly into a ponytail, a few tendrils of light brown hair still flitted about her face. She batted them aside, almost grinning at the guttural string of draconic curses that came from her mate on the other end of the line. "Oh, stop complaining! Why don't you stop by on your own for once? Does it scare you?" Her question was met with silence followed by a quick "I love you!" and a click as Aiodhan hung up. Chuckling still, the woman tucked her phone away and glanced about the lobby. Kimie Kitty Kimie wandered into the agency with Evan on her hip. "Oh thank the gods for air-conditioning!" Evan tugged on her sleeve. "Down now!" Once on his own two feet, Evan toddled around looking for something to play with. Kimie flopped into a chair and waved at Amyla. "Hey there. You're the one with the dragon-man, right?" Amyla Edana Amyla spun around as Kimie arrived, giving her a grin and a wave in return. Evan seemed to be off and toddling quite well. He was so adorable. "Yes, I'm the one with the 'scary' dragon-man fairly attached to my hip. He got home from work and wants me to do the same. We've been working opposite shifts lately, and he hates that. I have a feeling he'll come and drag me home if I'm not back soon," she replied, smirking a bit as she settled into a chair. "Ah well... he needs to get out more. His social skills are a bit lacking. He comes off as rather brusque, but he's got a good heart." Kimie Kitty "I could tell, although I only met him briefly. He seemed to get along pretty well with Evan. So what brings you here today?" Evan trotted over to Amyla. "Ay-oh?" he asked, staring up at her cutely. Amyla Edana "Oh, I was just stopping by to see if they were looking for new prospective parents. I drop in every now and then," Amyla said with a shrug, fingering a few stray locks of hair from her face. She heard Evan speak and turned her gaze down to him, giving him a wide smile. "Ay-oh? He is probably at home. Want to talk to him?" she asked, pulling her cell phone from her pocket. Kimie Kitty "Yeah!" One of Evan's latest tricks was yoinking his mom's phone and pushing random buttons. He crawled up onto the couch and reached for the phone. "Ay-oh!" Kimie grinned. "Just don't let him push any buttons, or he'll end up calling someone who-knows-where." Amyla Edana Amyla grinned and winked at Kimie. "Don't worry; I know about young things and cell phones. Remind me to tell you how Karael was first introduced to the wonders of telephones," she chuckled, pressing and holding the number 1 on her cell phone's keypad. She then handed the phone to Evan, trying to help him hold it against his ear. She giggled as Aiodhan's voice could be heard from the other end of the line. "Hey, love... on your way home yet?" Dulcea Andreas double checked the map Ting had given him, well, this looked like the place. But knowing her memory, he could be at the deli. He tugged the door open, a bit startled by the sudden rush of scents. Woah, so that's what she'd meant by interesting. A bit after the sensual assault he took a few steps inside, looking around curiously as he sniffed, trying to distinguish between old scents and new ones. Kimie Kitty "Ay-oh!" Evan chirped into the phone. "Hiiii!" He waved his hand, apparently forgetting that people on the other end of the phone couldn't see you. Kimie grinned. "At least he hasn't called China yet, but it's not for a lack of trying!" Spotting Andreas at the door, she waved. "Hey there. Andreas, right?" Dulcea Andreas snapped out of his focused state, turning to look at the woman, though he only caught half of what she said. "Yep, that's my name" he responded, walking toward them with a bit of a goofy smile, "Hi." Kimie Kitty "You and Ting were with us in the park the other day." Kimie explained, just in case he'd forgotten how they knew each other. She winked at him, gesturing towards Evan and whispered loudly, "He's on the phone!" Dulcea Andreas flashed a smile, he wasn't quite as off as Ting, but he did forget things sometimes. "Right, he talking to his girlfriend?" He joked, tapping his temple in mock thought, "You're Kimie then, and that's Evan?" Kimie Kitty "Yup, that's us!" Kimie laughed. "Oh yes. His girlfriend. XD Nah, it's Amyla's phone, he's talking to her mate. Evan took quite a shine to him." Evan, in the meantime, was waiting for "Ay-oh" to say something back. "Hi dog-persn!" Dulcea Andreas nodded, turning his attention to the toddler with a toothy grin that made him seem more canine that usual, "Well hey there little-person!" Kimie Kitty Evan put a finger to his lips. "Shh! Ev on phone!" Kimie tried not to snort... and failed. "I've been trying to teach him phone etiquette, since he keeps yoinking my cell." Amyla Edana Amyla choked back laughter at Evan's 'conversation.' Her face flushed pink, she gave Kimie a grin. Aiodhan would get her for this later; she was sure of it. "Ay-oh? What the he- Amyla?" Aiodhan asked in utter bewilderment. It wasn't until he heard, 'Shhh! Ev on phone!' that he realized who he was speaking to. "Ahhh, hi, Evan!" he said quickly, wondering how the toddler got possession of his mate's phone. Kimie Kitty Kimie clutched her sides, watching Amyla's reaction. "Hi, Ay-oh, how you?" Evan asked politely. "Huh, I guess the etiquette lessons stuck," Kimie muttered. ((Somewhere in here Ullie/Andreas wandered off! xd )) Amyla Edana "His manners are probably better than Aiodhan's," Amyla gasped out as a whisper, trying not to speak too loudly for fear that she burst into fits of unrestrained laughter. Evan was just too hilarious. "I'm good, waiting for Amyla to get home. How are you?" Aiodhan replied politely, now over his initial shock of someone else using Amyla's phone. It was a good thing he hadn't given his usual greeting, or Kimie and Amyla would have beaten him to a pulp for exposing a toddler to such concepts. Kimie Kitty Kimie whispered back, "I figured since he was calling people, he might as well be polite about it." Evan glared at his mother. Couldn't she see he was on the phone?? "Ev good. Ev like phones," he said, as if that explained everything. Amyla Edana "I see. It must have worked. Perhaps he can teach Aiodhan a thing or two," Amyla commented quietly, careful not to disturb the toddler's conversation. He seemed to dislike people talking while he was on the phone, which she understood. Still, it was rather entertaining. "Ay-oh likes phones too, but he likes his Amyla better," the dragon-man replied in the same self-explanatory tone. "Did Amyla give Evan her phone?" Kimie Kitty "This is the most polite I've seen him on the phone. Probably because he likes Aiodhan." Kimie snickered. "She push buttons, Ev talk." Evan nodded. Amyla Edana "Well, I'm not complaining! I don't know whether it was Evan or Rini that did the final convincing, but now Aiodhan is just as excited about the idea of children as I am... possibly more so. He wanted kids but wasn't really comfortable around them. Now his mentality is something like 'the more, the merrier,'" Amyla said, not sure whether to be happy or frustrated with her mate. He was most definitely unlike any other humanoid creature in existence, that was for sure. His quirks never failed to entertain her. "Ahhh... Ev is good at talking," Aiodhan said wisely. The dragon-man quietly opened the door to the agency and slipped inside, holding a finger to his lips to indicate to Amyla to be silent. "Amyla is very good at pushing buttons," he said, grinning almost ferally at the double meaning of the statement. Kimie Kitty "Aw, that's nice that he's come around. Evan and Rini could probably convince anybody." Kimie grinned. "Except when he acts up. He rather enjoys being "gross," and fights me when I try to give him a bath. More soap and water end up all over the bathroom than on him." Evan nodded. "Buttons go beep!" Amyla Edana Amyla chuckled. "That sounds like me trying to give Liliaea and Rudolph their baths every now and then. They're Equus, so I bathe them outside. Still, I end up soaked and covered in soap suds, and they're standing there with nary a drop of water on them and not so much as a bubble in their manes. I guess I'll know what to do if we end up adopting a boy or having one of our own," she remarked, watching Aiodhan sneak up on the little toddler. "He has relaxed a lot lately, which I'm grateful for. I should probably thank Evan and Rini for that too," she added. "Not all buttons. Some go 'boop'," Aiodhan said, poking the toddler gently in the back with his tail tip. Kimie Kitty Kimie grinned at Aiodhan sneaking up on Evan. Evan shrieked and dropped the phone. "Ay-oh!" he yelled, leaping into the dragon-man's arms. Amyla Edana Aiodhan's tail snapped around to catch Amyla's falling phone as his arms tried to get a good hold on the obviously ecstatic Evan. "Hi, Evan! Did I scare you?" he asked, somehow managing to turn off and shut his cell phone. Amyla chuckled and got up to rescue her cell phone from the dragon-man's tail. "I wondered when you'd get impatient and come here in person," she said, leaning over Evan to give her mate a good, satisfying kiss. Kimie Kitty "Ev not scared!" he protested. "Ay-oh sneaky!" Kimie giggled. "Hey, Ay- er, Aiodhan." Amyla Edana "Very sneaky," Amyla agreed wholeheartedly with Evan, ambling back to her seat. Aiodhan grinned and nodded at Kimie. "Hullo, Kimie. How crazy has Evan been making you?" he asked, gently tickling the little halfing. "Ay-oh is sneaky, huh? Well... Ev is... I dunno what Ev is, but I'll figure it out!" Kimie Kitty "Eh, good thing I was already crazy!" Kimie quipped. Evan bounced. "Cwazy! Mommy cwazy! Ee, tickles!" He squirmed. Amyla Edana "Thanks for that bit of knowledge, Kimie. Did you hear that, Aiod? You have to drive me crazy so I don't react badly when we do have kids," Amyla laughed, watching her mate play with Evan. "And he was the self-proclaimed disaster when it came to dealing with children," she commented to her fellow female. "Yes, cwazy mommy... cwazy Ay-oh... cwazy Amyla... cwazy ev... cwazy everybody!" Aiodhan chuckled, still tickling the squirming Evan. "You're a squirmer! I'm sneaky, and you squirm!" Kimie Kitty Kimie snickered. She had a feeling the pair drove each other crazy, and that was why their relationship worked so well. "Hey, we should get going. I hadn't realized how long we'd been here..." Kimie checked her watch. Evan giggled, almost missing what Aiodhan said. "Skwurm?? Funny noise!" "C'mon kiddo, I think you've been Aiodhan up enough for one day." She winked at the dragon-man. Evan pouted. "Dun wanna go!" And then, with a sudden change in mood: "Loud guys at house! Play wif 'em." He nodded happily. Amyla Edana "Loud guys at house?" Aiodhan asked, giving Kimie a bemused look. What was that supposed to mean? "Well... I guess that means it's somebody's bedtime, eh, Evan?" he teased the young halfling, unable to resist. Amyla stifled a giggle and rose, groaning as she felt her back give a delicious crack. "Owww... ooh, much better!" she said brightly now that the ache was gone. She ambled over to her mate, looping an arm about his waist and squealing as he trapped her with his tail. "How hard is it to keep him entertained?" she asked Kimie curiously, watching Evan talk and squirm away. Kimie Kitty "I've got some guys putting a wall up in the nursery and adding a second door, so Danica will have her own space," Kimie explained. "Evan's fascinated by the whole procedure." "No bed!" Evan protested, putting his hands on his hips. Kimie grinned. "It's alright, you don't have to go to bed right away." She rolled her eyes. "Entertained? Well... pretty much anything will entertain him, it's more a matter of keeping him busy. Short attention span, you know." She swiped Evan out of Aiodhan's tickly clutches and set him on her hip. "It's a good thing you're so little, Ev," she said, poking Evan's nose. "I can still carry you!" "Ev big..." he grumbled. Amyla Edana "Short attention span, eh? Sounds like someone else I know..." Amyla pondered, looking rather devious as she elbowed Aiodhan in the ribs. "Is Danica another child that you've adopted?" she asked curiously. Aiodhan was a bit reluctant to let go of his little friend, but he made the best of it and snaked his arms around Amyla instead. She was far more satisfying to hold, anyway. "No bed for big Evan yet? Too bad... bedtime is so much fun!" he said, grinning fiercely when Amyla gave him another elbow to the side and a hiss of, " Aiodhan!!" Kimie Kitty Kimie snorted. Good thing Evan was oblivious. "Yeah, Danica's another adoptee. She was with us last time, talking to Ting. Anyway, she's old enough to want her own space." "Bed not fun," Evan complained. Amyla Edana Aiodhan was about to correct Evan's misguided assumption when Amyla's hand clamped firmly over his mouth. "Of course not, Evan!" Amyla said agreeably, giving her mate a warning look. For all his intelligence, he really didn't understand the simplicities of a child's mind. "Sorry. He forgets children don't have a mature sense of humor," she muttered apologetically at Kimie. "And Danica was here before? I don't remember her, but then again, I do forget things on occasion. How long has she been living with you all?" Kimie Kitty "Umm..." Kimie's face scrunched up as she tried to remember. "Not long after Evan was born. Beginning of May, I think." Evan nodded emphatically at Amyla. "Good 'Meela!" She made sense. She knew bedtime was no fun! Amyla Edana "That long? Wow... time flies, doesn't it?" Amyla said wryly, pursing her lips as if in thought. She heard Evan speak and couldn't help but wonder if she should correct his pronunciation of her name or not. She decided to leave it be. "Yes, bedtime can be very boring. You can't run around or play or make noise or eat... I like being awake much better," Amyla agreed. Aiodhan didn't try to speak, still trying subtly to get Amyla's hand from his mouth. He tried licking her palm, but that did nothing. He looped his tail about her wrist and tugged lightly, only eliciting a warning growl and a glare from her that immediately put a halt to his attempts to free his mouth. Kimie Kitty Kimie suppressed a grin at Aiodhan's antics. "Speaking of time flying... We really do need to get going now." Evan clapped his hands. "Loud house! No bed!" "Yeah yeah, I know. Say goodbye, Ev." "Bye Ay-oh! Bye 'Meela," he said dutifully. Amyla Edana "Bye, Evan! Make sure your mommy doesn't go too crazy," Amyla replied, giving Kimie a wink. "Take care. Oh, and next time he decides to act up in the bath, give him a rubber ducky. That might help. That's how I entertained Karael when she was little," she added before giving Aiodhan a wary look. "Can you behave now?" Aiodhan effortlessly yanked Amyla's hand away. "I always behave when there are others about," he said, looking almost offended despite the wickedly mischevious gleam in his eyes. "See you later, Kimie... and make sure you don't go to bed too early, Evan," the dragon-man said rather nonchalantly, earning himself another elbow to the ribs. He simply tightened his tail's grip about Amyla's waist despite her squeals of shock. "Women... they're so crazy," he said with mock exasperation to Evan. Kimie Kitty "Cwazy," Evan agreed. Kimie rolled her eyes. "Alright, you. We're off. And-" turning to Amyla,- "I'll try the rubber ducky thing. Thanks." With a wink and a grin at the couple, Kimie padded out with Evan on her hip. "Byyyeee," Evan yelled (right into his mother's ear, of course) as they went out the door. Amyla Edana "You're welcome, and bye, Evan! Stay out of trouble!" Amyla called cheerfully, still attempting to dislodge Aiodhan's tail from around her waist. "No, wreak havoc! Drive everyone crazy! Be a guy!" Aiodhan said with an almost feral grin, chuckling at Amyla's pathetic tries at freeing herself. "Need some help, May?" he asked innocently, watching her glare up at him and struggle more. "Obviously so, but you don't want any. Very well..." [/end]

RP: Elenore has arrived; Danica gets Evan out of the house Kimie Kitty Danica pushed the door to the adoption agency open with one hip. On the other hip, Evan sat, bouncing happily. He hadn't been out of the house for a few days because of all the storms recently. "Anyone around?" Danica murmered, glancing around the room. She perched on the arm of the couch and set Evan down on the cushion. Fishing around in her backpack, she pulled out a Tonka truck and a couple of obviously well-loved dragon plushies . "Truck!" Evan squealed, climbing down (rather awkwardly) to the floor. Danica grinned at her little brother. Since she'd grown, she didn't mind babysitting quite so much-- most of the time. The Kederi took a tattered paperback book out of her bag and settled down into the couch. Amyla Edana "Come on, May. Don't give me that look," Aiodhan pleaded hopelessly, politely holding the agency door open for the woman who followed him. "I had to go; it's my job!" he ventured further, stepping up behind Amyla to rest his hands lightly on her shoulders. Amyla turned just enough to give him a frosty look. "Your job to go flying out over the lake in the middle of a thunderstorm to fetch some idiot people who should not have been out there in the first place?" she asked, stubbornly folding her arms over her chest. They had had this argument a dozen or more times before. It always ended the same way: silence. "Yes," Aiodhan replied, true to the script. "You know that too. You're just being paranoid because of what happened the last time I went flying in a storm," he added, breaking from the normal course of the argument. He spotted Danica and Evan, giving them a brief wave before turning back to his mate. "I know what I'm doing, May. I was as safe as I could be." He gave her a swift kiss on the cheek and then ambled towards the room's two other occupants, chuckling lightly as he watched Evan play. Slightly mollified, though determined to continue the debate later, Amyla made her way over as well, settling herself into an armchair with a grin and a nod in Danica's direction. "Babysitting for the day?" she asked, not knowing any other reason for the lack of Kimie's presence. Kimie Kitty Danica looked up from book and nodded. "Mmhm. An old friend of my aunt's suddenly showed up, needing a place to stay. Mum's taking care of her and fixing up a spot downstairs. Anyway," she waved a hand at Evan, "he was getting in the way, so I figured I'd distract him over here." Evan glared up at his sister. "Ev helping!" he said indignantly. His pointed ears twitched and he turned around quickly. "Hi, Ay-oh!" he chirped, his indignance forgotten. Danica rolled her eyes, amused. "What brings you two here today?" Amyla Edana "Hi, Evan!" Aiodhan replied cheerfully, folding his odd legs beneath him to settle onto the floor beside the toddler. "Whatcha doing?" he asked, hiding a grin at the glare Evan gifted to Danica. For a small thing, he sure had a lot of spunk. Aiodhan was reminded of himself... almost. He'd just been far worse as a young thing. Amyla snorted softly. "Helping by getting in the way, eh? Hmmm... I know someone like that," she muttered, giving Aiodhan a pointed look when he raised an eyebrow in her direction. Her expression softened lightly. "We heard some rumors that there might be more expectant mothers in here soon, so we dropped by to see if there was any substance to that gossip." Kimie Kitty "Got my truck," Evan announced, pointing at the truck, which was some sort of emergency vehicle. "Goes vroom-vroom and eeeee-ooooo eeeee-oooo! See?" He pushed it around on the floor, still making siren noises. "He was underfoot and wouldn't let Mum put his toys in the corner... He kept picking them up and putting them back in the middle of the floor." Danica grinned and smacked her forehead good-naturedly. "Not to mention it's hard to see him if you're walking around holding something in front of you. I swear, he likes getting almost stepped on." "Nuh-uh," Evan contradicted, looking up from his truck for a moment. "Ev helping." He nodded and went back to his demonstration of what sound a truck made. Danica shook her head. "I haven't seen any new people, but we haven't been here very long. It's been a while, so it wouldn't surprise me if the gossip is true." Amyla Edana Aiodhan managed to keep from cringing. Ah yes, blessed sirens. He and Amyla heard them enough times during a normal workday to make them feel sick any time they heard them. Still, he couldn't tell Evan that. "I bet you did help, Evan. And I'm sure your truck helped as well," he said, grinning wickedly at the dark look that Amyla sent in his direction. Amyla rolled her eyes. "Men," she muttered quietly. She had to chuckle at Danica's comment about Evan being underfoot. "He sounds like a cat I had when I was a kid. The little thing thought she was some kind of queen. She used to drag all of her precious shiny objects to the middle of the hallway and leave them there, especially late at night. You wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, step out into the hallway, and immediately step on some sort of spinner for a fish hook, or a decorative fork, or a shiny string of beads. It drove us nuts." She smiled at the memories. Thankfully, she didn't see Aiodhan smirk. "And I really do hope the rumors are true. I'm afraid that patience has never been Aiodhan's... or my... strong suit," she added, relaxing back into her chair. Kimie Kitty Danica giggled. "That's exactly what it's like!" She glared playfully at Evan, who was deliberately ignoring her. Flicking a glance at Aiodhan, she quirked a brow. "Ev, I think you're hurting Ay-oh's ears. Take it down a decibel, will you?" Evan grumbled and reluctantly complied. Seizing the dragon plushie, he held it out. "Drag'n! Like Ay-oh," he nodded, peering around at the wings, tail, and feet. "I hope they're true, too. I really think you'd both make very good parents. I mean, look how much Evan likes Aiodhan!" She smiled and pushed her long hair back from her face. Amyla Edana Amyla grinned at the quick look of relief that crossed Aiodhan's face. She had grown immune to the sound of sirens. They always made her go alert, but they failed to bother her as much anymore. Aiodhan, however, hated them with a passion. He must have developed some great amount of patience to have not said a thing. Distracted by having a plushie shoved in his face, Aiodhan returned his attention to the toddler. The plushie didn't look remotely like his handsome self, but he couldn't say that aloud either. "Yes, like Ay-oh," he reluctantly agreed, glancing back at his wings to make sure they weren't that small and squishy-looking. Amyla nearly chortled at Aiodhan's sudden vanity. "Erm... well, thanks," she replied modestly, blushing a bit. "We've both been looking forward to this for awhile. The waiting interval has done us some good. Take a good look at Aiodhan. A few months ago, he wouldn't go within ten feet of a small child, they unnerved him so. And now look at him," she chuckled, resting her elbow on her knee and her face upon her hand. Kimie Kitty Danica picked up on the pair's sense of relief. "I'm guessing he wasn't just being too loud, hm?" she asked quietly. She smiled reassuringly, not wanting to pry. "Tigrrr drag'n," Evan elaborated, indicating the plushie's stripes. "Like Ay-oh an' not like." He nodded, clearly pleased with himself for making the distinction. Amyla Edana "We hear a lot of sirens. I've just gotten use to acknowledging and ignoring them. Aiodhan hasn't reached that point yet," Amyla explained, giving a helpless shrug. "I work in an emergency room. I hear them hundreds of times every shift. Aiodhan works search and rescue from an aerial perspective, and he hears them every time he brings in rescued victim. He still hasn't gotten used to the sirens and lights, yet, though." Aiodhan examined the plushie. Indeed, it did have stripes whereas he had none. "That's right. It's got wings and a tail like me, but I don't have stripes, do I?" he asked, glancing again at his tail just to make sure. "You're very smart, Evan. We can't fool you, can we?" Kimie Kitty "No fool Ev!" he chirped happily, pushing the truck again, this time without the accompanying noise. Even the rather oblivious toddler sensed his friend's discomfort. "Ahh, I see," Danica responded, not really knowing what else to say. "I don't know if I could do that. I hate seeing people in pain... and even though you're helping them..." Her voice trailed off and she shrugged. She looked down at her lap for a moment, and noticed the time. "Oh goodness, I'm so sorry to dash off like this, but we should probably get back to the house." Amyla Edana Amyla shrugged. "That's what we were called to be. I wouldn't be nearly as happy in any other occupation," she commented, glancing at her own wrist at a mention of the time. "Yikes! We'd better get going too before Kveairo sneaks out the back gate again. I swear, that Equus has a girlfriend hidden somewhere! Where else could he be sneaking off to?!" Aiodhan grinned at Evan and winked, leaning forward to whisper conspiratorially. "No fooling me either. Kveairo does have a girlfriend, but don't tell them." He nodded in the females' direction. "Shh... it's a secret." Kimie Kitty "Won't tell!" Evan whispered back, although rather loudly. "C'mon, Evan, get your truck and dragon." Danica stood up slowly, stretched, then held out the backpack. The little halfling deposited the toys, grinning mischievously at Aiodhan. Danica hoisted him up onto her hip, positioning him so the backpack wouldn't hit him. He poked at the strap a few times before settling down. "Bye Ay-oh!" he yelled, right into his sister's ear. Danica winced. "It was nice seeing you again, Amyla, Aiodhan. And best of luck tomorrow!" With a wave and a wink, she stepped out of the agency (where it was, fortunately, not raining) and made her home. Amyla Edana "Thanks!" Amyla called with a cheerful wave at both Danica and Evan, grinning at the expression on the little toddler's face. He was so adorable. Mischevious, of course, but also quite adorable. He reminded her very much of Aiodhan on the days when the dragon-man was in an exceptionally good mood. Like now. Aiodhan gave Evan a knowing wink and waved a wing in farewell at the halfling and his sister, simultaneously circling his arms and tail about Amyla's waist. "We'll have to drop by again tomorrow," he commented, taking her smirk as a response. "Can we go home now?" he asked plaintatively, dropping a gentle kiss on the side of her neck. "Sure... as long as I get first dibs on the TV remote," Amyla replied impishly before dashing out, Aiodhan hot in pursuit. [/end]

Journal: Kimie
Danica's room was finished just in time-- she's now (physically) an adult. She's so very helpful, that lovely daughter of mine. We've both been working, trying to set the house straight since all the construction. Evan gets better at walking (and getting into -everything-) every day, it seems. He tries to help but.. it's toddler-helping, which mostly involves doing every little thing to make the task at hand more difficult. He's Epona all over again-- only not held back by a pregnant belly! I thank whatever Powers That Be for Danica's patience with him.
Furthermore, we have a new resident. She's a sweet little feline who calls herself Elenore-- says Rhi directed her here. She's very thin; a dancer; however she's also been on the road for quite a while. Fleeing from something (or someone), but she hasn't given a lot of detail. I suppose she just needs a comfortable, safe place to be for now. Ah well, one more body in the house doesn't hurt, and she doesn't need supervision like Evan does.
I need to get out of the house. I'm going a bit stir-crazy, what with all the rain: I've been cooped up cleaning.

Journal entry: Danica
It's been a while since I've written anything. I've been spending a lot of time with Elenore, the feline who showed up at our house recently. She's still very quiet and shy, but I tend to be, too. We get along well, even if we're both just sitting around reading or something.
Mum wants to get us out of the house, which is a bit of a mess. We never did get air-conditioning installed. At least the basement is fairly cool.
Whoops, Mum's calling-- must be time for dinner. I smell pizza! - Danica
------ Danica stretched, her back cracking loudly. She left her room and peeked into Evan's to check for him. "Dinnertime, kiddo."
The little boy in question sat in the middle of his room, stark naked except for a pair of training-pants. Evan grinned and waved his truck at his sister. "Pizza!" he chirped, abandoning his toy and leaping to his feet. He dashed past her, nearly knocking Danica over.
She grabbed for him and missed. Rolling her eyes in amusement, she followed Evan to the kitchen. Grabbing a paper towel, she yoinked a hot slice of pizza with extra cheese. Elenore was standing by the table, looking rather uncertain. "What... is this?" she asked.
Danica tried hard to keep from dropping her jaw. "It's pizza. Really good food. You'll like, I promise." Elenore looked skeptical, but grabbed a slice for herself. "Come on, El, let's eat downstair where it's not so hot." The two girls retreated just as Kimie re-entered the kitchen... fortunately just in time to prevent Evan from dragging the entire pizza box off the table.
"Hang on, I'll get you a piece!" she laughed, scooping her son out of reach. She cut a slice in half and dumped it onto a plastic plate. Evan reached up for it, on the verge of fussing. Putting the plate on the table, Kimie stowed Evan into his high chair and let him have at it.
A few moments later, the toddler was covered in cheese and pizza sauce. Kimie hid a smile and chewed quietly. The sounds of two girl girls talking and laughing drifted up from the basement.
Dinner at the Catclaw residence.
