Endless thought it over briefly. "Just... family. Whatever you're comfortable with, I guess. Maybe you could start with Ginny? I didn't really get to know her... or the others... much when I met them before." Lili had seemed more willing to talk about Ginny earlier... and it seemed like a good enough place to start. He slowly lowered himself so that he was laying on the floor instead of just sitting and lapped at his drink, hoping maybe it would help him calm down and relax a bit... His shoulders were getting tense again, and he was really hoping the headache would hold off until after Lili was doing better and was ready to... go back home he guessed. The thought of her going made him slightly sad, which startled him slightly, but he could find her again... he was sure of that.

Giving him a soft but grateful smile, Liliana nodded. "Aunt Ginny isn't blood kin, for all she's from the same 'before' as Daddy. They tell me she was the youngest of seven there, and her parents were Daddy's age, but here I think they're the same age. Two of her brothers are part of our family, but talaye, not kitsu. Fred & George're nearly as good at potions as I am, but they're only interested in jokes & things. They love that Ginny's with us though. She took up cooking to remind her of her Mum from 'before' ... and just to have something to do I think. She joined our family maybe a week before mother told Daddy she was carrying us. Aunt Ginny's been so much happier lately than she's ever been. I think it's because of another one of the wizards from their before, Harry. He's a winged anthro and only recently did their relationship change." Although her voice remained mostly smooth & level as Lily spoke, there were a few places that altered: love & adoration whenever she spoke of her Daddy, jealousy & a bit of awe when speaking of her Mother, and mild confusion at Ginny & Harry's relationship.
"Our human is Trelweny & she's a young son, Theron. Theron DeVon. I guess humans age slowly because he's still basically a kit, though he's older than everyone except Locke & his fox familiar, Shippou. He's a Jivvin bond, Theron does, Whose always with him. Her name is Ambar & she has wings too." Her own fluttered gently at that & she smiled. "Keyna is often with Trel... she's a kyunru and very beautiful she has three tails like a kitsu but they're feathery and like a peacock. Trel says she's going to have babies soon, though no one knows when. There's a few numa: Mysidia is a chocobo... our audio Rikku and all three Relms as well as the tala pups Seifer & Zell have befores where chocobos were great birds the size of a horse and people rode them." She shook her head increduly and continued. It was as if Lily was afraid that if she stopped she would never start up again. "Fidelity & Mirage -they're tala too- know a lot about chocobos & those worlds too, though they don't have befores. Mys & her mate just received four feathers from the marshmallow swan... I guess that's how they have young there. Alice & Piper prayed for feathers too, much to their companion Cheshire's displeasure, but I don't think they tried very hard. They seem more comfortable staying at our home than going to NumaNuma Land. There's a few cats. The HouseCats are so supid they can't work the magic door, though the Feather tailed cats can. One's pretty but haughty, the other's friendly enough but his mate just had kittens so he's been around less than usual. There's a dog, Interceptor. He's bigger than me, maybe bigger than Daddy but not Uncle AearHwesta who's an angelic." She made a face, again wondering if Aear & Endless knew each other. "He's kinda scary. There's something about him that makes me believe he could easily kill at a word. But he is gentle as a kit or puppy around Relm. Audio Relm has taken to him even closer than the Kirikai or BlackLuckGoat. But then kirin Relm's been taking care of the Opal egg most of the time. They all paint a lot, and use a different kind of magic too. Relm Audio just brought home this elf lady, Nihahiel, who's been living with us too. She's a lot like the beautiful dragon Medusa, Nimlaurë, as far as keeping to themselves. We've a GaiaCom black elf witch too, who has different magic than we do. Myranda can be... cruel, but she can summon almost anything we want. But between her & Uncle Aiden they keep everything running smoothly when Trel is overwhelmed or out. Uncle Aiden's kinda everyone's guardian, and probably Daddy's closest confidant at home. He's the only fae winged audio. Gwen keeps trying to get him... but he's a "bonny lass" as he calls her that he loves very much." Liliana grew thoughtful. "I got to aparate them on their date last week. I like her. He's one of the oldest, though in the scope of things I guess that doesn't mean much when the kunkun's bout the same age as him. Tien tends to lead the small ones -those under 6 inches or so which are too many to name & I know I'd forget them anyway. It won't speak normal, and the translators around the house don't seem to work on kunkunese." She made a face. "There's Jezebel who's always sleeping -I was nearly grown before realizing she wasn't a pillow- two tala minis, Maltavish & her sprite, two huge ninau males, Yahto a yoshi audio always on the go & Toral a perma-teen, not to mention a flock of perm Ex-Libris pups. Uncle AearHwesta taught Talagand -he's a seraphim kitsu- & I to fly. Trel-kit's been following him around a lot lately, and Lil'Soot's always adored him. Trinity.. well she's old. But she's a mini-kit. Sometimes she's all mama on us, sometimes she's a kit. There's a pair of matching eggs with wings too. So many joined us over the holidays... I'm sure I missed some."
Liliana looked chagrinned -more than she should perhaps for knowing she glossed over some of her newer family members. She knew she was putting off what Endless was really asking about. "Aunt Chroma and her mate had kits since the new year and her teenage son Doron lives with us too. She's nearly as old as Daddy, but ..." Here she smiled, laughing softly. "She thinks somehow a bunny put her eggs where they were."
Now she was round to eggs and her own blood family was next. Remus was easiest to start. "Daddy's full name is Remus J. Lupin, but everyone usually calls him just Remus which he prefers." No need to tell Endless of Chroma & even Trel sometimes calling him 'Remy', or her mother calling him Rem-chan. That her father tolerated that name, much less liked it irked the crimson female. "He was once a professor, but not for very long though I think he would have liked to be. Especially how he's been so much a part of seeing to my & my siblings' educations. He's the one that made our library. After he & the Weasley twins worked together to make the magic door of course. That's where Daddy & I spend most of our time. Or did." Lily frowned slightly. "Daddy took Rommy -my elder brother Romulus- on for special silent casting lessons. Rommy can't communicate normally. He doesn't make all the sounds we can. " Not that she would admit to herself that part of the reason for that might be because there was less competition for her Daddy's affections from the only male. "And I started taking potions lessons from Severus once Daddy said I'd gone beyond what I could teach him." There was a mixture of pride & something else not quite discernable as she told that. "Of all my siblings, I like Rommy best. He's chocolate fur like Daddy's but a hint of Mother's auburn hair in his, and he dresses Japanese, like Mother does. We're the only ones to get Mother's wings." She wondered idly how many of the new litter would have wings. "Vynnessia's the baby. Or was, before Mother became pregnant again." A slight frown. "She dresses most like Daddy, and her hair's like his, though her main fur is light, like Mother's. But she's not bad. Not like MauCho." Anger flashed in her eyes. "She lives with mother. We... don't get along." That was an understatement.
She was stuck, now she had to tell of Nari. "Mother lives with her sister in a big stone house. Her name's Nari. She cooks -Japanese- and takes care of her gardens. Sometimes Daddy takes me to visit her & MauCho there & we're usually in the gardens then. "She's very pretty, with long auburn hair, wings patterned like my tail, and she wears a gold Japanese dress..." There was a wistfulness in her voice but also more than a hint of jealousy. She shrugged, deciding that was near enough. "And she can heal. That's about it." She licked the last of her hot chocolate from the bowl almost bitterly. "Except the new eggs Mother's carrying. She told Daddy that she thought there would be more than before..."

Endless had settled his head on his paws by the time Lili was done speaking. His eyes were closed... It was pleasant to hear about her family. They seemed to genuinely love and look out for one another. Though it might be confusing sometimes with all those many creatures around...
Something in her voice prompted him to say something that he might not have if he was thinking clearly, but he was caught somewhere between daydreaming about her family and remembering his own so his mind was far from clear. "He won't love you any less, you know. Your dad. He might give the new kits more attention at first because well, they'll need it, being little... but it won't change how he feels about you. He'll probably even need you more to help support him when they make him think he's losing his mind. 'Least... I wish I had someone like that around sometimes when I have to take care of the ones at home..." And Diina was about to have kits, and she still acted like one herself... Oy.
He looked at Liliana, a clear gaze, and if she'd dared she could probably have looked inside his soul right then. "You have a good family, Lili. Not like... like mine..." He scrunched his eyes tight shut and faced the half-finished hot chocolate, shuddering slightly. He would not cry again, would not, not in front of her, she had enough to deal with. The tears that trickled down his cheeks didn't seem to be paying attention to what he was telling himself though.
And what if she asked? Could he bring himself to tell her? Could he bring himself to tell anyone? He'd carried it all so long, so long, by himself, never letting anyone know it hurt. Everyone until recently had just sort of moved in and out of his life, there was no point in telling them. He hadn't told anyone now because he was still waiting for them to leave like everyone else. He plopped his head back down on his paws and let out a slow wheeze and inhaled again. "I don't think I'm good company right now either..." he whispered huskily.

But I want more than what we had! Liliana almost said aloud defensively at what she knew was supposed to make her feel better. But she did not want to feel better. She wanted her Daddy as... well, Liliana was not sure but she wanted him as hers, that she knew. Nobody could be as perfect as Remus. Somehow, some reason she did not. Perhaps she caught the wistfulness in Endless' voice on some subconscious level. Perhaps something else.
Lily found herself caught in his bright eyes for a moment there. She had never locked gazes with anyone other than family before then. Not even Edward, her only friend until tonight. That was if Endless was her friend. Lily hoped so, and not just because he had seen her crying or because she had told him of her family. Liliana liked him. Endless was sweet & she liked him.
When he scrunched his eyes shut a soft sympathetic whimper escaped the crimson female. He was sad. Lily could not bear to see her new friend sad. She knew that not being good company meant one most likely needed company -and no, she could not see the hypocrisy in that thought for it was true even for her save she did not wish to admit it. To her heart & her upbringing there was only one thing to do if Endless was hurting. She moved closer & lay her head over his neck lightly.
"It's okay..." She murmured softly, a tear trickling from her eye for his hurt.

Endless whined softly and sobbed. He'd fought it so long and so hard and right now he was just tired of trying to be strong. Maybe this was what Valefor was talking about when she'd told him that proverb or whatever it was about the reeds that were willing to bend surviving the storm while the ones that refused broke... maybe not. For all that he could make art he was horrible with metaphors. All he knew was the tears were flowing freely and words were bubbling up to follow and at the moment he just didn't have the willpower to swallow them back like he usually did.
"My father left me behind because I couldn't keep up... he left my mom behind before that when she got too sick to follow when he was ready to move on..." He ground his teeth audibly for a moment. "Everyone else who was ever important to me either left or got taken away at some point... Until now..." He snorted softly. "I've got some people that come back now even when they probably shouldn't." He pulled himself forward slightly to stare into what was left of his hot chocolate, trying not to dislodge Lili. God, but he needed that hug right now. Looking down into his liquid brown reflection he sighed. "And I hide me and I don't let people close and it goes on and on until sometimes I'm not sure who me is and I'm sick of it! And yet when things seem to be going well is when I most expect something to come along and ruin it..."
He pushed the bowl away. "I'm sorry... you didn't need to hear all that... I don't even know why..." He sighed softly. "I feel like one of those biscuit containers that someone peeled the paper off of and popped open..." Yeah... that about summarized how he felt. "I'm sorry I threw all my problems at you, I shouldn't have." He was trying to make her feel better and he was pretty sure he'd just made her feel worse.

Liliana's thinking mind did not know what to do. but her instincts & loving, affectionate upbringing seemed to. the young adult moved the rest of her body closer to lend her warmth and support. She raised one wing that would have been between them to lay over top of them both. Softly she cooed a wordless sound that she found effective in calming some of the others in her family -a sound her father had sometimes used on her when she had been angry at MauCho for one reason or another. Meanwhile a soft trickle of tears began to slip from her eyes unbidden. She could never imagine either of her parents doing such a thing. Not to each other, certainly. Not to their kits even more assuredly. Lily felt terribly guilty... and extremely petty too. No matter what she felt, at least she always knew her parents loved her. They would do anything for her.
Poor Endless...
"It's okay. I don't mind. You obviously needed to tell someone..." Lily did not remember starting to talk and was surprised to hear her own voice. "Besides... that's what friends are for, right?" They were friends, weren't they? Unlike her aunt Chroma, the winged daughter of Remus & Nari never could be certain without being told strait out. Still she curled her neck & head gently around the male's neck offering what hug she could.

It helped. All the little things she was doing helped. Endless actually felt himself relaxing... at least a little. He took a deep breath and let a long, shaky sigh accompanied by an involuntary shiver and when the shiver was over his shoulders had actually unknotted, although they still hurt a bit from being tense for so long.
It was when she called him friend that he actually craned his head around to try and look up at her, ears once again hanging one up, one down. "You... want to be my friend?" Friend. Friend. What a beautiful word. "I... I'd like to be your friend..."
For once he felt warm and safe and relaxed and suddenly he was incredibly sleepy. He yawned involuntarily and shook his head to keep himself awake, eyeing the hot chocolate bowl. "I think I'd better finish that..." He didn't want it to get cold... and Lili made it for him, and they were friends now, so that made it extra special... right?

Her head leaned sideways over his ear so that when she nodded their ears brushed softly together. Then she smiled. "I do. I... don't have many friends." Just one other, but then Liliana had spent most of her growing up with her family.
His yawn produced a similar reaction in Liliana & she closed her eyes as she yawned into his purple ruff. "Only if you want to. I can send it to the microwave to warm it if you'd like."
Liliana gave another yawn -smaller this time- and snuggled instinctively into the warm body beside her. "I think I'll stay here tonight... maybe in the potions room so I don't accidentally sleep through my lessons in the morning. I could transmute my desk into a comfortable bed or a really large pillow." She smiled sleepily as she murmured her thoughts aloud. "I don't want to go home yet, do you?"
Even sleepy she could still cast the spells she was thinking of easily. But sleeping alone -that was an unknown to her. Even on nights her father was gone there were always others to cuddle with. And Endless was warm. And her friend. Remus slept with his friends... and if her father could so could she.

Endless tugged the bowl over and lapped at it. "It's fine... maybe a little cooler than I like it but it's not bad." And then he blushed under his dark fur again and studiously worked at drinking the rest of his chocolate when she snuggled against him. He knew she didn't mean anything by it, but that didn't make it any less odd to him. Unlike her he was quite used to sleeping alone... unless maybe Soot and/or Atae stayed with him, but neither of them had done that since Atae grew into a teen. Endless was pretty sure Soot would come back after Atae had grown up and found someone, but his little psuedo-daughter was never going to be little and snuggly again. He suddenly realized the hot chocolate was finished and pushed the bowl away again.
"So you can... turn stuff into other stuff too?" He'd asked Ginny how she floated stuff around, she'd told him, they'd talked briefly about it but he hadn't really inquired into it much. He hadn't honestly thought he'd run into it again. It was intriguing, to be sure, though he wasn't sure he'd have been comfortable being able to do things like that. He wasn't really sure if he'd trust himself with that sort of power.

Liliana snuggled sleepily. Her belly was full of warm milk & there was a comfortable warm body next to her -not to mention that she had worn herself out flying and crying before she had even come across Endless- so sleep seemed the next course of action. "mmm? Yes. I can change things."
Yawning she stood up slowly, her lids heavy over tired green eyes but her smile was sweet & tender. Having a new friend -and being sleep- had momentarily pushed her uncomfortable thoughts away. With the top of her head she gently nudged his shoulder. "Come with me? I'll show you."
Because changing her desk into something comfortable to sleep on sounded like such a good idea at that moment (whether or not it really was) that Liliana padded from the kitchen to the potions classroom, pausing to send their empty bowls to the sink.
In the classroom she ignored Severus' much larger desk and went to her own. She checked that it was clear, then looked to see if Endless had followed her. There was a soft, puppy-doggish hopefulness to the look.

Endless followed as much because he was enjoying being around Lili as because he wanted to watch her turn her desk into a bed or something. And that look on her face was adorable... he kept his face straight for the most part, smiling sleepily. He didn't want to make her think he thought she was silly or something...
He sat on the floor near her and blinked his eyes a few times. They were attempting to close of their own volition. "Whatever y'want to turn it into... just not too big..." He looked around at the other stuff in the room, waving a paw at it. Wouldn't want to knock anything down, especially if she had to like... use it tomorrow for her lesson.

The red furred female giggled slightly, as if drunk on sleepiness. "I can't make it any bigger than the item I change. Like that law Edward mentioned... something about like for like." Liliana could not remember the words exactly though the idea still was mostly clear in her mind. But the potions desk was large, even if it was smaller than the professor's. She concentrated on what she wanted as she had been taught, focused on the desk and cast the spell.
The desk shifted in appearance -first becoming soft as if it was a plush desk, then sinking and spreading slightly. The sides rose slightly, stretching the last remaining features of the desk oddly. Then all the colors & distinguishing marks began to fade until the large pet bed was white as snow.
Though sleepy, Liliana flashed her friend a triumphant smile before sliding her wand into its leg holster & jumping into the plush bed. She turned around once, paws sinking into the bed's cushions somewhat before laying down with a sigh. It fluffed wonderfully yet at the same time was quite firm -only slightly less firm than the seats in the library back home. Liliana sighed in contentment, then opened her green eyes to smile at Endless. Her tails flicked the empty space beside her in invitation and she rested her chin on the soft, thick raised side to smile at him sleepily. "Do you like?"

Endless stepped in carefully, turned thrice, and lay down. It was... surprisingly comfortable. He started give her an affirmative answer and ended up yawning instead, so once he had control of his jaw again he just grinned slightly and nodded. Somewhere along the way his eyes had closed themselves and he couldn't seem to get them to open again. Her shoulder was near his, however, so he nosed her briefly to say goodnight and plunked his head down on his paws with one last yawn.

That he fell so quickly asleep was a satisfactory enough answer for Lily. She snuggled into his warmth, letting her wing lightly rest partially on his back before laying her head on one paw, using the other to curl over her muzzle to shield her eyes.
If she had thought about it, Liliana would have been surprised that she could feel so content despite knowing the news that still hung unhappily in her heart. Ah, the power of a friend.
So it was with a soft smile on her face she drifted off into an exhausted sleep.
