*drags feet* okay, I guess I've put this off long enough...
Okay, I'd like to start off by saying that this quest character and the character are absolutely amazing. Nikkos is a very well rounded character. You lay out his fears, dreams, hopes, all of that extra stuff very well. I really like the extra single rp's that you added (How he gets onto the island), it makes him seem much more 3-dimensional.
The only things that I believe you could add that may prove useful is another post devoted to an in-depth look at Nikkos' relationships. Like his family and other important NPCs that he might know (and maybe even the people that he's met in the rps.). Another useful thing would be an rp log, like in the real islanders. Gin has a really good example in his quest thread that you might want to check out. (Though I'm pretty sure you've already seen it.)
Both of those things aren't necessities by all means, just extra little things that you could add to make your thread even more outstanding than it already is.
Err... I think that's it.
Sorry if it wasn't that helpful. xd Your quest thread is already just so good...

I guess I can do kind of both? Here I go...
Things I Like:
- Smoking - ummmm, yeah, Greeks and smoking... the two go together xD All ages too. I couldn't go into an internet cafe without having to cut through the cig-smoke stare What I've found very interesting.... it doesn't seem to affect their health much. Every smokes, sure, but they grow up to impossible ages for such health concerns. o_O
- Tarpon Springs, Florida - I wasn't sure if this was a common area for Greek immigrants... so I checked, and it looks like you did your research -YAY!
- Greek Coffee - As I've never liked coffee... I didn't have any. But I like that you mentioned it because it IS a staple in the diet... kinda like bread, wine, and olive(s) (oil).
- Olives - I just wanted to mention, while Greeks can get olives with almost every meal there are a lot of them (more than I thought) that disliked them as much as me, wahoo!
Things that are.... meh:
- Alcohol - While the Greeks themselves don't drink to get drunk, I did not find this to be true for the Greek-Americans. They purposefully went out and got just as drunk as everyone else. Maybe more so cuz they spoke Greek and could as for more (and maybe directions on the streets? o_O )
- Blue Eyes - I'm not saying change this... but, it threw me for a loop. Not many Greeks have blue eyes in reality (they do in their myths, but that is idealized). Usually, it is only the "not full Greeks" that had blue eyes and brown/black hair. They've been living and marrying "only" Greeks (now there are others being brought in) for so long, even a blue-eye mutation is almost non-existant.
- Bookish - This can change with Greek-Americans... but Greeks are not that bookish. Sure, they read books but they prefer to go out and get stories via talking/story telling/songs.
- Ancient Myths - I just wanted to mention this. You'd think that Greeks knew the ancient stories but the fact is.... they do not. I had an argument with a Greek professor about which gods were Greek vs. Roman. He thought Mercury was the gods' herald and that Mars was the god of war *palm slap*. When Christianity came to the area, it took over the ancient myths (slowly but surely). Now, Greeks tend to only know the myth/gods of the local area... and I believe this only has to do with tourism anyways. For instance, there is a festival in Tyrnavos every year to 'celebrate' masculinity.... and they portrayed that with Dionysus, so they knew about him. But they didn't seem very knowledgeable about the others *shrugs* Now, with my character Thina, I..... over-shot this fact, but that had to do with her family's roles of keeping the lore alive (even though the ancient gods are not a part of that anymore). While I have no problem with Nikkos learning the Ancient Myths, and can totally see that happening with the American fascination of them.... the idea that his parents would bring that "love" isn't so feasible. What I might suggest is possibly having not-Greek classmates "pressuring" him about the Ancient Myths at school, and that might lead him to his love of them?
Overall, however, I think you've done a great job researching and developing him. There isn't anything that I think "OMG, You HAVE to change", just some thoughts on them that you may want to consider.
Animal Ideas: personally, I like STRANGE animals xD So, I would probably like the squid or hermit crab the best. That's just me, though

Lol, Well, Nikkos doesn't smoke cause.. Well.... Fear of cancer, but also because he doesn't like the smell. And he does love drinking at celebrations and stuff, or an occational glass "just cause", but he's also seen what drinking can do to people and he reeeeeally doesnt like dancing on table tops, which he has the tendency of doing if he doesnt pay attention to how many times his glass is refilled. dramallama
XD And in reality, it really differs per family -- I know several Greek families that LOVE reading and mythology. Just like everyone else, personalities, likes, and dislikes differ person to person, even in cultures.
For example, I'm mostly Norwegian. My grandma.. she doesnt care about Norwegian Myths or myths at all, like many Norwegians I have talked to. There is no interest in it. However my father was born in Norway and they all moved to America when he was a small baby. He got introduced to books about Mythology at a young age because his name is "Thor", and has developed a deep facination with Norse mythology, which he shared with me. Sometimes when you leave it, those who hear the legends could develop the drive to research it.
I figure something simular might have happened with Nikkos's family; they moved to America and, hungry for a taste of their home his father tried to find things on his home and encountered the mythology of the ancients in tattered old books found at flea markets, one of which is Nikkos's aged copy of The Odyssey.
Inside the book there are occational pictures, really bad black and white pictures of pottery with drawings from the story. His father likely picked it up cause it had a picture of a boat on it XD They used to read the stories outloud to him, but as Nikkos got older and he started became interested in learning more, he personally became sort of bookish since it was an escape from the reality of Middle and High School.
Nikkos's family had been in America for several generations: I dont think he's even pure greek -- his mother has some other european race in her, but she has never bothered doing the research for it. He's just has enough that its what is mostly running through his veins.
And Nikkos really does hate MOST olives. Black and green are both chemically treated to get the color they are -- the "Black" ones were green and forced into being black. Nikkos can't stand them, prefering naturally ripened olives, and even then he uses them mostly for cooking, rarely eatting them as they are since they can be overpowering if they aren't cooked down and in small amounts.

Thanks for the tips! I'll mull them over and see if any of them can be worked in, though some of them I've purpously avoided following the "typical" because I dislike following stereotypes, especially when it comes to other cultures
