He hadn't meant that Hienna should gore him; not exactly, anyway. Just because she had a horn that was all but perfect for goring, that didn't mean that she should do it. Besides, even if she had sworn to him earlier that she was capable of defending herself, he was slightly skeptical. After all, you could be extremely well-versed in the theory of something, but until your life was actually on the line, you didn't have much you could say.
Not that he was going to argue that point; frankly, some things just weren't worth arguing about. And until they were, he wasn't going to trouble with them.
Blinking for a moment at the sudden assurance, he was for a moment wondering whether or not she was pulling his leg; either way, it was nice to know. "Well, I suppose this way I can rest assured that my skin will remain whole for at least a little while longer. Though I'm going to hold you to that promise if the threat ever comes up!"
Not that he expected her to, of course; he'd prevent that if he possibly could! Assuming that he had the chance to...
And there was a chance, after all! He'd been wondering whether or not it would be appropriate to ask about accompanying her, deciding that he would anyway...and then she helped him out by asking for him!
Smiling from ear to ear, Zaph inclined his head at Hienna in acceptance of her request. "It would be my honor, Hienna."

"I'm sure you will, Zaphiro dear," Hienna answered with a warm smile, "But you don't have to worry. Your skin is too pretty to mar. Mares would come at me in droves and beat me with their hooves."
Her small attempt at humor that was likely ill placed, but she was trying. For one who was not used to joking around, it was a fair attempt. At least, she thought so.
"Any particular place in mind or just aimless wandering, friend?" Either way was good for her. She didn't know her way around the area after all.

The comment made Zaphiro snort, not because of the comment but because of what it reminded him of. After all, why wouldn't those admiring hoardes resent any attacks against him? Though if it meant he got some peace of mind...
Chuckling, he gave Hienna a square look. "Do you suppose they'd all still be interested if I was disfigured? I swear, maybe having you gore me wouldn't be a bad idea."
Not that he felt like being skewered today, so he easily shrugged off the somewhat distasteful thoughts of the moment and addressed the question instead. "Well, I suppose the question is whether you have anything you want to see, Hienna; then we can plan from there."

"I wouldn't mind going anywhere with you, Zaphiro," Hienna said softly, though when she realized she said that out loud she coughed and covered it up with a, "After all, you are my protector are you not?"
Mentally berating herself for even thinking like that, Hienna simply blushed again and looked away, "So anywhere you'd like to go is absolutely fine with me."
This is what happens when you talk before you speak, you silly mare. Now stop thinking that way and go back to your carefully practiced speech!
Satisfied with her self scolding she flashed the stallion a smile.

Maybe it was just hope; likely it WAS just hope, but Zaphiro couldn't help the warm feeling that spread through him at Hienna's words. They had a nice ring, after all, and a beautiful image of the two of them side by side walking into a sunset...
Well, there was no reason to rule that option out!
Grinning over at the mare, he nodded his head in response to her query, his damp curls falling about his face at the gesture. "True enough, and I suppose that as your protector I should plan ahead so that I might better keep you safe. So...how do you feel about beaches?"
Given their current position in the woods, they could either scope out the mountains, the plains, of the coast; and of the three, the coast sounded the nicest. They'd just LEFT the plains, after all, and mountains were so hard to climb... "Unless you'd prefer mountains?"

"Beaches? That sounds lovely. I've never been. I must admit that I'm not in much of a huge climbing mood so I would prefer keeping out of the mountains this morning. Perhaps some other time. That is, if you plan on meeting me again after today."
Hienna certainly hoped that he did. After all, a friend was an awful thing to waste and it was becoming more and more clear that she and the stallion had quite a bit in common and clicked well.
The mare would be incredibly upset if she never saw him again.

"A nice choice; I've never been much on mountain climbing myself, and tend to fly over them if I ever have to make it past them. So, the beach it is!" Sand, sun, warm water...hopefully she'd like that much better than the frigid water of the springs! Not to mention the beach was just pleasant. A good place for a nap, to be honest; he'd always loved flopping in the sand and enjoying the warmth of the sun on his dark coat.
Hopefully Hienna would like it as well.
Smiling, he gestured for her to follow him as he started off towards the forest path. "And by the way; you don't have to worry about not seeing me again, Hienna; meeting you has been an amazing experience, and I don't plan on losing you so soon."
Not indeed. Smiling to himself, the stallion turned and headed into the trees; it would be a long walk, but hopefully worth it...
