Why does everyone assume the Half Blood Prince is a half-blood? It doesn't have to be, it could be a prince who represents the half-bloods, or protects the half-bloods or who the half-bloods honour or respect. That said, I stick by my theory that the HBP is a legendary figure or title, and not a character at all.

darkangeloflight14 My thoughts on the sword: Perhaps it ISN'T Godric Gryffindor because with how the Wizarding World seems, it is more geared towards the Middle Ages. In the Middle Ages (and correct me if I'm wrong), the weapon of choice for most nobility was the sword. Perhaps it was more a sign of his nobility/wealth? It was for Muggles, we really can't say anything about wizards. I do think it is a sign of nobility or royalty, (since, after all, it's not a very practical sword for fighting) which is part of my argument for him being the HBP. I guess we'll see though. ^^

He can just be someone who stands up for or represents them. It could be a story from way back in the day...you know like 'back in the day . . . .' er though that might be way off gonk So far I can only see a few things that might happen. Like Dumbledore studying with Harry. That would be intresting.

pmarsala311 The half-Blood Prince. I think it might be a myth like some people said. Though, it might be a real person. We just don't know. I can see why it doesn't fit most of the characters though.
I wanna know who dies in this book though. My best friend keeps insisting that it's Remus Lupin. I keep telling her he won;t die, so it will be interesting to see which one of us is right. I think it is also a myth. A good point of view to come from.

Maybe JKR is trying to trick us into thinking it is a char. Maybe it is a title, but maybe it's not...
