A Character with 2 bolt pistols can be legal, but.. it's kinda stupid. As for the 3 soldiers, did you read? It's a Bolter in each hand. Then one bolter and one Flamer, and then finally, 2 flammers. That is totally not legal.

Similarly, a character with two bolt pistols, in-game, is functionally the same as having bolt pistol and close combat weapon, and can count as such.

Well he could be like Cypher. 2 hands, 2 weapons. You could have 2 CCws or 2 pistols, it's really up to the user. Just make sure to note it down in the statline.

He read correctly.

Your "two-bolters" guy 'counts as' a stormbolter.
Your "bolter+flamer" guy 'counts as' a combi-flamer.
Your "two-flamers" guy 'counts as' a heavy flamer.

See?

Similarly, a character with two bolt pistols, in-game, is functionally the same as having bolt pistol and close combat weapon, and can count as such.

Blinks a little, "Meaning, it could be legal to model them the way I want to and they can be played in battle? Wonder were I would have to put them in, maybe a command squad? I dont remember reading that you can put any of those in a troop."

Well, you can only shoot one weapon per turn, so the only difference between BP+BP and BP+CCW is about 1 point. Hell, one of the Khorne Berzerkers is modelled ON THE BOX with two bolt pistols. biggrin

That is essentially it. As long as the function is clear and you clearly spell it out to your opponent beforehand, pretty much any conversion is legal, unlike some other companies.

You're right, though, most of those choices still aren't available to standard Marine, but hey. As long as you get the concept, it opens up a whole new world of converting.

Yeah, model them in a veterain squad. Make sure they don't look too static and "I'm about to fall over" though.
smile

That'd just be silly.

Laughs a little, "Oh, you should see my Vet Squad, I did this BEFORE the ultramarines decided to put parts of the Nids on there armour, I have there jetpacks, shoulderpads even some have the claws on them. I May add a few into them and make there jump packs look different. But still, now I have a new open view on how to covert models, muhahaha."

I love them, their super extra rules add something new to battle.
Shadowblade ruined my high elf friend's day by routing his "Seer council" hiding in the woods (yeah, four mages with 5 shadow warriors , all with heavens lore).
Shana, my living saint is cursed by hive mind of my assimilated friend, as she keeps on frying little bugs whole game, jumps out of combat and repeat... We counted 60 dead gaunts from her one day...

Would the Catachan Rule "Oops Sorry Sir" have an effect on Commisar Yarrick? seeing how he is a Commisar
PostPosted: Sun Feb 11, 2007 11:23 pm

Well, Yarrick is supposed to be loved by troops... and he doesn't use field execution rule ... OTOH officially he is still a Comissar... hard to tell.

"They're not in my Codex, but I heard that there'll be a new model and rules for him in the Dark Angel Codex."

They sure as hell aren't in the new dark angels codex (I just read it), but he IS mentioned. So, with any luck he'll return rules-wise in the new chaos codex that's coming out.

Nope.

2 pistols = pistol + ccw. Best you can do and be "legal."

Houserule it all you want, though.

EDIT: Oh! "Perhaps there could be..." In that case, not likely, sadly.

No. But you bring up a good point.

Mastercrafted pistol + ccw = Seraphim with dual pistols.

I think that there should be something similar to the VDR (sp?) except with characters instead of vehicles, allowing people to make up their own special characters. Or perhaps there should be some other way to add special abilities to their leaders.

Make up an ability and fairly attribute it a points cost to add to the overall total.

How does that sound?
