We might as well just give out some random amount of gold.

Considering that we do actually have that sort of money on hand, I'd say yes, but I don't like the idea of doing this menacing little buggers any favors. Let them have 10,000 gold instead.

Sounds good. Just some random person at a random time should be adequate. We decide who wins and who doesn't, so it'll be entirely biased based on what we see in the individuals.

I'm enjoying this idea every time I hear it. Very well, we'll have a random contest of the most random nature for a not-so-random prize of 10,000 gold.

I don't see why they have to, though it does make sense that there has to be some proven interest in winning the amount of gold being presented some how. We need to determine a way of that being done... Perhaps a Hail Grunny some time after the contest has been established?

I think that'd be adequate. We'll have a "Hail Grunny" contest.

Better yet, let's make another contest for the "Hail Grunny" contest. The person who comes up with the best "Hail Grunny" will receive a grand totally of 25,000 gold to go right into their pockets.

No, of course not! If I wanted a writing contest, I'd slap a thread over in the writing forum and give away some where around 100,000 gold instead. Sheesh... wirting contest, pfft. Instead, it's going to be a pledging contest of sorts. By making it a pledging one, they need to make a pledge for their loyalty towards Lord Grunny. Seeing how hardly any of them are worth the time of day, we need to make it known that it's not going to be an official pledge by any means.
That way, there's no strings attached.

Either way they both sound pretty nice, and there is no runner up prizes I assume? I'm currently writing a story now that's so far 17 pages on pen, I'm still on the rough draft and no even close to finishing it. Then afterwards I will transfer that to the computer and then work on it then. 3nodding exsept my pages are for some reason longer then normal pages. xP

Runner up prizes aren't too bad... it'd make it easier on us to determine a first or second place. Screw the free 10,000 gold to whom ever. Runner-up gets 10,000 gold.
