James laughed.
"Alright then, I guess I'm up..." he cracked his knuckles, and sauntered into the yard. Looking back at Stryphe for a moment, he added, "Don't kill anything just yet, okay?"
He approached the Cerebrus, walking as casually as ever despite standing beside a three-headed barking dog.
"Jeeze..." he said, wiggling a finger in his right ear, "damn thing is loud."

He watched the dog, really just wishing the middle head would quick barking- he could only imagine how the other two must feel.

Disa plopped down on the ground to wait and see what would happen. The other appeared to be annoyed by the barking head, but she didn't mind it so much.

R66-Y The dog watched the three, obediently waiting for a question. Well, except for the middle head. It just wouldn't shut the hell up. If it didn't ask him to ask, he'd go ahead then. Sometimes these Sphinx-riddles prompted a question beforehand. "Alright, Cerebrus," he said, taking a good long look at the tri-headed dog. "I've got a question for you..." Two trains leave New York traveling at 80 miles per hour. However, ten miles down the track one of them slows to 60 miles per hour. After four hours of traveling how great is the distance between - wait, what? That wasn't it. "The sign tells us that one of you knows a big secret. So I -" He stopped. He could barely hear himself over the barking. "I was going to -" He stopped again. It's hard to ask a question if you can't even hear yourself think. "I wanted to -" Damn that dog was loud. "Will he ever shut up?"

"Yeah!" Stryphe piped in, obviously beyond annoyed, "Why the hell is it necessary to constantly be barking?"
He sat down next to Disa, cross-legged, fuming.

The two side heads looked at each other, then looked at the two people who asked them the questions. They looked at each other again. The right head head-gestured to the left head, looking questioningly at James. The left head followed suit, looking up to Stryphe. A man in a suit walked up to the sign, and scratched out a word on the bottom line, adding a few more. Quote: You may ask the dog a head one question. Leaning against the sign, the man took up to whistling--whistling that couldn't be heard over the barking.

James walked over to the man, put a hand on his shoulder, and asked him which head tells the truth.
Obviously he knew. He was probably the owner. He was the man that made the sign.

Snap. "Damnitall."
So, anyways, he went back to the left head (assuming the middle constantly barks) and and asked:
"Will the noisy one stop barking any time soon?"

"No," the head replied ruefully. The center head barked in response.

James walked back to the sign, where the other two were waiting.
"Your witness," he said with a smile.

How clever of Mr. Black. Disa rose to her feet and wandered over to the pretty puppy. "Hi there handsome," she was adressing the left head, "The sign over there indicates that you know a secret about a great treasure, what is the secret that you know about this great treasure?"

James jabbed Stryphe.
"And the coup de grace... ... ... ...NOT with the knife."

Ok. "Thanks, handsome." And she reached out to give him a good scritching behind the ear. "I believe it's someone else's turn to ask a question now."
