Rain’s face was serious, all traces of sarcasm was wiped off. From what she had left was five shots, then she had to reload. Unless this mage was well taught in firearms he could think it was one to fifty, and unless he had been paying attention to her shots specifically he wouldn’t know for exact.

To keep the gun steady she brought her left hand up and held the gun with both. She fired three consecutive shots to where the mages heart should have been, based on knowledge gathered from before and after the battle had started. Rain had a good memory. The shots should have aligned together, as in hit the same spot unless a very sudden movement was made. Other then that she bent her knees, ready incase her plan failed. “One last goodbye kiss before we sink” she finished off the end of the song she was quoting.

The first bullet hit stone, the second cracked it, and the third just barely pierced through into flesh at the same time Trei's haymaker would hit it from behind...

The golem's momentum still carried it forward at Rain; it couldn't stop if it wanted to. And Brad was not -quite- dead yet.

((Very close success on the crit roll))

{{Rain has to crit roll, as Trei is not attacking, and he couldn't even if he wanted to... Stalwart does not allow him to combo attack. So, I have to wait until this sequence is over.))

((I rolled two dice, the first for me, the second for her.

The probability that a die will land on a certain number is the same no matter who rolls it, so for expediency I made both at once.))

Rain flew back from the impact. As her body hit the floor a crack was heard, and she had the feeling she’d be feeling this the morning after… that is if there was even a morning after. Rolling over in pain she staggered to stand up. Lifting her gun she winced and fired two more shots like before, her aim hadn’t been altered at all from the hit. Dropping the cartridge and shoving a new one in as quickly as she could, ignoring the pain.

((Would it be alright if we requested that she roll herself from now on? It just feels more comfortable that way...))
----
Trei puts his effort forward one last time, throwing his bodyweight and himself into his attack on the Golem. However, he seems to fall lower than the back...

Only to throw his fist at the back of the Golem's left knee, willing whatever power will aid him to do so now. Should he hit or miss, the young man's going to crumple, coughing up another pool of blood... However, should he hit, Brad will feel another concussion (about 1/3 strength, at best) in the back of his already wounded knee/calf area.

All Trei can do is hope that his attack buys the girl some time...

((No need. Even insane luck won't help him survive this time.))

BAM! Concussive power shot, straight into Brad's flesh, tearing muscle and breaking bone. The golem fell to its knees, its momentum carrying it forward at Rain, the friction created by its shins dragging against the ground slowing it just enough so that Rain had time to fire before it hit...

At nearly point blank range, her aim could not help but be true. The bullet would pierce its heart, ending Brad's life, and the earther armor would melt away into silver dust...

Leaving an earth mage corpse to fall in the dirt in front of Rain. And among the glimmering dust, Rain and Trei would find...

You and your allies each get +5 to your Defense. This cannot be used to bring your fallen allies back to life. The Defense bonus goes away when you take this off, so if you or any ally only has 5 Defense left, I'd advise leaving it on.

((Thank you, Flare, for allowing that; I know that the event modifier said that Trei wouldn't be able to fight as normal, but I figured one attack might go off...))

Trei grins at the crashing sound... Earth boy had fallen, hard.

Talk about good damn news. However, that just means Rain needs to give him a GOD DAMN MARBLE!

Taking a step backwards she realized that it was finally over. Rain’s gun arm slid down back to her side. Her eyes fell down toward the corpse of the mage, why he had attacked in the first place she didn’t know, the one thing she did know what that he had possibly saved Trei and her life when he had ported them here from the beachfront. And for that she was grateful. The marble caught her eye; she had no need for it though. Leaning over she plucked it up and closed her left fist around it. The song she had been quoting turned out to be the perfect choice for this battle.

((Not a problem, Trei. You've earned it.))

Sliding her gun back into the inside pocket of her jacket she headed over to Trei and placed the marble in his hand. "I think you need this"

After giving the marble to Trei she walked over to the arena’s stairs. She waited for Trei to put the marble in and catch up; with the marble in he would feel a great bit stronger, his wounds becoming less of a pain.

Rain leaned backwards and took a seat on the steps. Nothing was damaged that couldn’t be healed. Her eyes staring at the sky, somehow she knew that a battle was going on. It could be just called a hunch, but by some means the marble that was on her arm linked her and Trei with the others. When she closed her eyes for a second she could almost see the others fighting for Gaia. It was up to the other marble bearers to finish it, and she had no doubt that they would. Trei and Rain were off the hook, they had seen their fair of combat and were more then satisfied. Sitting there Rain was truly content. “Sometimes when you fall, you fly” she smiled as she spoke, her words weren’t just about falling in general, to some that is how it would seem to them, but for Rain it had a deeper meaning. When she had ‘fallen’, at what time her marble had vanished, she met Trei and ‘flew’... It had started a team and an everlasting friendship. For all the days that Rain would travel no matter where she was she would always remember what had happened that day. She didn’t care if her name wasn’t written down as one who had saved Gaia, and from what she knew Trei didn’t either. The only thing that mattered was that they were part of something that was much bigger, a new era of Gaia’s legacy.

(( Thank you all for a wonderful time and experience))
