Disa slumped against the wall of the stairwell for a moment as the accessory flared and vanished. She suddenly felt a lot weaker than before. Damn, lovely time for that to happen. But Fluffy was there to save the day, or at least help her the rest of the way down. "C'mere Mopsy," and with a grunt the dog obeyed.

"Thanks, handsome." Disa steadied herself with a hand on his back as she continued the rest of the way down and out the way she had come in. She was breathing a bit heavier from the lost of her power source and smoke from the fire, there was a cough here and there. But she was for the most part unscathed.

Now, where the bloody hell to take cover next.

(( You see what now? o_O;;

I included the accessory thing in the first post after I read the PM... which was after the post I was writing when it got sent out. ))

James, of course, stayed under cover... and provided that the creature was still kicking, and still violently intent on burning anyone or anything nearby to the ground, he would fire off another volley of 3 bullets towards the most vulnerable areas he could see. Of course, this would mean open wounds on the head, neck, or chest that were no longer protected by those armored scales.

((I didn't get the part about you having a dud accessory.))

The dragon roared again, falling flat on its head. Its wings twitched idlely--it wasn't dead, but seemed to be incapacitated.

One of the scales on its back shined differently from the rest, almost seeming to glow.

As the dragon seemed to be incapacitated, Disa made her way away from the firey building, across to the fountain and James Black. If this fight was going to be won, it was going to be by him because she wasn't going to be able to do much more beyond making it to the fountain.

This situation was made of win and wreckage. Mostly wreckage.

Seeing the creature finally laying still, James threw one leg over the edge of the fountain... then the other... then rolled off onto the ground, groaned painedly, and pushed himself to his feet.

Really... fountain-diving was a b***h of a sport. He wouldn't recommend it to anyone but his enemies.

Well, if nobody else was going to say anything... James would manage to make his way over to the dragon that was shining with marble-ness (as they supposedly could detect). Going for the gold, so to speak.

Disa would sit down on the edge of the fountain, a good distance away from the the beastie, FMC licking her face for 3x the lickage.

The dragon's wing twitched, but otherwise, it made no effort to bite the James'ter or anything of the sort.

((Sorry for the delay.))

  • This is the 'scale' that was glinting strangely. Incidentilly, it's quite easy to pry off of the KO'd dragon's body.

James pocketed the 'scale' and headed back to the fountain.

    "Here..." he said, still aching.

"Hey!" Jacknife called in a friendly tone as he walked into the area of the fountain. "Damn, that's a nice kill." He said, indicating the dragon on the ground. He was just passing through, but he figured he would be polite to the man he recognised.

Ulfdisa looked up as James returned, accepting the offered marble and replacing the one that had vanished. "Thanks."

    James waved.

"This is the kind of thing big fish stories are made of!" he shouted back; immediately regretting doing so because, once again, his entire body ached from that whole 'jumping out of an exploding helicopter' incident.

    "Land anything yourself?"

"Meh, all I got was some half rotten robo-zombie. There wasn't much left of him when I got done too. That's the problem with zombies, they tend to fall apart. I'll catch you around, mabee back at the Institute."

With that he waved good bye and continued on his way through Barton to Old Barton.

Disa ignored the stranger for the most part since he seemed to ignore her. Once he was gone she turned her attention back to James. "Where to now, Fearless Leader?"

Well, that guy was going one way... joining up could be helpful.

Why? Because fighting a dragon really takes the wind out of you, and having some guy around to do that next time was always making life easier.

"C'mon, let's get out of here before something else happens..."

So, dripping, he followed Jackknife to Old Barton.
