I play using finger-style with my bass held as high as I can. I don't like to use picks and I'm still learning how to slap.

I play with pick, bass held low, and from time to time I slap certian riffs in the song.

i like the sound of playing with fingers better, but i can play faster with a pick, so... rolleyes

I play with both a pick and with my fingers. i usually use i pick though because i feel it give me more speed and accuracy.

I only play with my fingers. There are a lot of people that can play with their fingers AND with a pick and thats awesome but i just find that its easier to play with your fingers because with a pick you might miss the string, but with fingers you can strech them out and play faster too. Then again playing with your teeth is cool too. But painful and very hard.

I play with my fingers when I want to play faster. I use a picks on slower songs.

The Amazing Mr. Tommyos! It's my opnion that you arn't a real bassist if you use a pick. Picks are for guitars. Nothing against you, but I don't like that psudo-slap sound you get from playing with a pick. It sounds half-assed. That's just me. ...Yeah, I play with my fingers. i agree, that it the same thing i think, it just isn't a bass if you dont use your fingers

I mostly play with fingers but there's something raw and punk about the sound you get when you use a pick on the bass... I really like that sound for some reason, but only if it's done cleanly.
