Ridith looked down at the drones as they beeped mindlessly to each other, gathering information on his fleet and whatnot, probably sizing him up before attacking him. "I ******** hate drones...." he murmured to himself, as he hit several switches along the panel in front of him, preparing... something. Nothing apparently changed about the ships as he sat there, though a small smile now appeared on his lips. He hit the comm switch once more, beginning to enjoy this little conversation, even if it was only a matter of protocol. "Powerful entities you say? And we suppose you work for one of them? Don't worry, it's a rhetorical question. We are curious however, as to whether or not this contest would prevent us from exploring this area? We mean no harm as of yet." This was all said matter of factly, though the underlying curiosity of Ridith was beginning to shine through. He smiled to himself, as his mechanisms went into play...

In a rear section of one of the other six cruisers, a small pod had hissed to life, a soft green glow coming from within the glass exterior. Within the pod sat a shadowed figure, as there were no lights on in the vessel currently, though the current activity seemed to represent something. However for the moment the pod lay still, leaving Ridith to continue his conversation as he awaited some kind of signal back from the station....

Having rested for some time before the ships suddenly popped into view, Sarin's footsteps were thudding down the hall quickly even as he was pulling his uniform on. He had most of it on, his right arm and upper torso still trying to wiggle into it as he ran, right around the corner and into HashiI. "Iieeee~" He yelled as he slammed on the breaks, his slippery soled shoes slickly slamming silvered surfaces.

Needles to say, he was falling on his a** even before he knocked into Hashii, his world spinning into a blur of color and texture as he fell.

Who knew what position the poor guy would end up in at this rate.

The request was reviewed, and though the Alpha ship had no reason to trust the station, the arrogant answer was returned. Much to the dismay of the officer speaking, but that was life. "Fleet leader Alpha, you have permission to explore surrounding space or this planet's surface IF you do so in a vessel conforming to the following. It may not be carrying either advanced weaponry or invasive sensors, and must keep a relative distance of 20km from the station at all times." Answer given, Alpha captain had the next move.

Hashii was not surprised by his yelling anymore, though it did make her come to a sudden halt. Somehow she got the idea that he would be doing this around her often, like it was how he greeted people or something. She just stood there as he slipped and fell, not even flinching, only staring down at him and questioning, "Are you alright?" Though there wasn't much concern in her voice, at least she was showing some signs of humanity.

@____@!

"Fine..." He answered, though such an answer came in a slight daze. Dusting himself off with his left hands, his right arm slowly and carefully slid into the sleeve. Once he'd shrugged the topcoat into place, he quickly fastened it up, hiding away the form beneath. Hashii's way of seeming distant never ceased to amuse.

Ridith let out a loud sigh upon hearing this, apparently being one for a great deal of stress. Did they think he had a vessel with no weapons or sensors? Hell, his body alone was probably in violation of what they were asking. Of course, he could always lie and say his ships didn't have weapons, what with them being concealed internally. However, he didn't really feel like lying, and instead decided to be as open as possible, hoping he didn't sound arrogant or threatening in the process. Hitting the comm, he responded, "Cradle, this is Alpha responding. Perhaps you are not understanding the current situation entirely. You are facing off against seven heavily armed warships which have been used to decimate entire fleets of enemies in the past. We have enough firepower at our disposal to render the strongest alloys you know of into molten slag, and then some. I have no vessels without advanced weaponry or sensors, nor do I intend to build one. Please suggest a compromise measure, and quickly." Towards the end there he temporarily reverted into the first person, personally not finding much difference between I and we for someone of his mentality. He was both himself, the individual, and the fleet, the many. There was no real distinction. He waited calmly for a response, wondering vaguely if they would take his comment in a negative fashion...

The answer was swift. "Alpha, we are aware of your current position, though we hardly think you are aware of ours." There was a brief break in the message, before the voice continued. "If you plan on pursueing this agenda, you will have to do so in a vessel that conforms to the standards of civilian class ships. Weapons specifications designed only for combatting light targets or debris, shield systems in accordance with similar use, and passive sensors." The word was final.

Take it or leave it.

Ridith stared at the screens for some time after that, contemplating the response he had just been given in his head for a while. It was tempting to engage them simply for their arrogance, in order to show them who exactly they were dealing with here. Even such a heavily armed space station was still a space station. He could stay out here and snipe it from afar as it hung helpless in space, no way to dodge. However, he decided, if only for the moment, to retain his cool as he finished hitting the sequence he had started earlier with a sigh. Hitting the comm, "Very well. Might I ask where the one in charge of your station might be at the moment? Is he onboard the station? Or elsewhere?" He was tired of talking to peons who didn't know who they were messing with. It was time to speak directly to the head honcho...

Meanwhile, within the pod which had previously been activated, a faint hissing emerged as the pod opened slowly, letting out a cloud of green gas into the surroundings. A soft sigh could be heard as the dark form stepped out of the pod and over to a nearby entranceway, stepping inside before letting the door shut behind him with a soft hiss. A moment later the door would disconnect itself from the ship, and a small white vessel, similiar in shape to the other six though much smaller and much less heavily arms, would emerge from one of the vessel's port side, its thrusters humming to life as it appeared. When scanned it would be clear that this vessel matched up to the Cradle's demands for a lightly armed vessel, as it took off towards the main planet's orbit at a fairly high velocity....

Another spider-bot makes itself by popping out a floor pannel next to the officer in charge of the comlink. Up close, it was work of art in practical functionallity. Each of the eight legs were multi-jointed and extendable, reinforced with spun Fibros Titanium (a metal composite, while not as strong as most cutting edge technologies, that has a greater tensile strength than other), and tipped with multitools for every situation.

This model had a data resevoir mounted on its back and a refractory holographic projector in addition to the standard loadout.

It glances around, then moves off to the side and plugs into a terminal to begin uploading.

==============================================

Far below, yet more spiders observe the path of Tegral's box and his robots. There optic sensors line the hallways from crevases and open panels.

Once he was standing, Hashii was required to look up to be able to view his face. "Do you know what is going on?" She was new and had never been in a situation like this before, so she clearly had no idea what to do. She was hoping that whatever it was it could be handled by the higher ranked officials, but if she was needed for something she would have liked for someone to at least explain it to her.

It was a matter of discretion generally about command staff, but with Rookin sitting down below, it didn't seem like a pressing matter. Sure most of the top leaders were on the surface, but each was directly linked to the entire Cradle in one way or another. They were never very far from home.

Coordinates of the Citadel were relayed to the disembarking ship, allowing him a clear flightplan. "KB can be found on the planet's surface, as well as- Hey! What the heck is that! What's it doing?!" The comm cut out then, the voice clearly questioningly, though not with the gunfire sort of oh-my-god-it's-eating-my-face ominous comms cut. Infact, by this point the officer was on his feet, trying to give the spider bot a swift kick.

A nearby higher ranking officer drew his pistol and took steady aim...

...at the head of an R&D representative, who was cursing softly.

Someone would have to start explaining something.

The warnings had since ceased, only the dull throbbing of red lights to confirm that alien craft were still looming on the edge of what was considered personal space. "Judging by the looks of things? I imagine there's a few armed ships out there somewhere. We haven't been hit yet though, so that's a good sign." Sarin chuckled softly as he swept his fingers through his hair. Without having had time to fix it up since his shower, the bangs dangled before his face rather naturally.

Ridith noted the response with a smile, glad for the information. "KB, huh? Well now, this should be fun...." He began to laugh as he sat there, before bringing up the control panel, still grinning. He punched in some coordinates, commanding his ships to go back to a previous planet in the solar system which had seemed convenient and having his ships go into orbit around it slowly, letting them drift along lazily as he went about his mental calculations. For now, he would enjoy a few moments of peace as he waited for news from the planet's surface about this "KB" fellow....

Meanwhile the small craft descended along the course indicated by the comm officer, though the pilot blinked at the commotion heard over the speaker. Flipping a switch, the familiar voice came over to the Cradle's comm station. "Cradle, is something wrong? You would appear to be in some distress." he asked calmly. The Cradle might notice that the source of the transmission was from the shuttle as opposed to the main fleet, but that was of little consequence....

The holographic refractors on the spider spun to life, showing the details of the upload in weapons research scematics and materials displays. It was hurting anything, just jacking into the R&D terminal and loading the newest research.

Though she was still as confused as ever, Hashii gave a small nod and questioned again, "What are we suppose to do now?" The question was direct and simple, but she was slightly distracted by Sarin toying with his hair. Did his action have any certain meaning? Or what it just an action? Unlike earlier, she refrained from asking anymore questions about every little thing that made her think, just leaving herself a bit puzzled.
